this is bbc news — our latest headlines. forecasters have warned more snow and freezing temperatures are expected across the uk tomorrow, as severe weather caused widespread disruption today. international trade secretary liam fox has rejected labour's brexit proposals, in a speech, he said an eu customs union deal would be a sell out of british interests. police have named five people believed to have died in an explosion in leicester, officers also confirmed they do not expect to find further survivors. and almost every criminal lawyer in england and wales has experienced failings in the disclosure of evidence in the past year alone — according to a bbc survey. in a moment it will be time for sportsday but first a look at what else is coming up this evening on bbc news. beyond 100 days looks at the latest in the us gun control debate, as the government resists calls

for tighter regulations. we'll have the latest on the severe weather that's causing disruption across the uk. and we'll hear why king penguins could be forced to move from their natural habitats, or face a bleak future. that's all ahead on bbc news. hello and welcome to sportsday — i'm damian johnson. ahead on the programme swansea boss carlos ca rvalhal looks to dump his old club sheffield wednesday out of the fa cup at the second time of asking. venting their anger at wenger — arsenalfans continue to rage against the manager after their league cup after their league cup final surrender. the football authorities are close

to agreeing a mid winter break which would do away with fa cup fifth round replays so tonight's between swansea and sheffield wednesday may be a bit of a collector's item. swansea boss carlos carvalhal is looking to knock his old club out at the second time of asking but also has an eye on premier league survival. conor mcnamara is in place at the liberty with his co commentator former chelsea and scotland winger pat nevin. cold weather in swansea. it is a mild february evening but looking forward to this fa cup fifth round replay. sheffield wednesday up against theirformer replay. sheffield wednesday up against their former manager. how do you see this game going?” against their former manager. how do you see this game going? i was at the first one and it was very tight. i thought sheffield will be just about had it on the day. they played
6:33 pm
quite well there will be a lot of changes that both sides. they both have problems in the league. swansea have problems in the league. swansea have been doing well recently. hake up have been doing well recently. hake u p rece ntly have been doing well recently. hake up recently and it may be the team that wants it more than the other tea m that wants it more than the other team is the one that winds it tonight. we will see when the game starts. there is a realfeeling that the next round as a possible massive game with spurs waiting for them. it will be an exciting game and they didn't want this replay in the first place. they have got it now and will wa nt to place. they have got it now and will want to finish it. looking beyond forthcoming seasons, there is this proposal about this mid—season break in english football. what is your view? they say they will go off and play lucrative friendlies abroad. that is cynical but sadly it is correct. i was in scotland and there was a period of time when they had winter breaks that happened quite a lot. teams were flying all over the
6:34 pm
world the players were supposed to get didn't happen. the weather we're having at the moment, you could have the break at the wrong time and games could be snowed off. players doa games could be snowed off. players do a really —— players are keen to haveit do a really —— players are keen to have it as they get tired over december. the games are hammering in and you don't have european games. that helps but my real concern is one thing more than anything else, teams won't take it that seriously and claim they will but will go away just as you say and not give the players arrest. the one thing they get is from injuries. most players play with injuries most of the time but if you get a break of two or three weeks, you will not go on that tour and they will get a rest. one of the suggestions is to change their fifth round to play it in midweek and have no replays. that is a no—brainer. i am amazed
6:35 pm
midweek and have no replays. that is a no—brainer. iam amazed it midweek and have no replays. that is a no—brainer. i am amazed it hasn't happened before now. i understand it gets money and for the smaller clubs and the replays are something that they don't complain about. if you get a replay against premier league club, it is a fantastic thing and the money is useful. however, it is not perfect and people come to seek cup games and they want it finished on the night. that would not be a bad thing. gensler shield -- sheffield wednesday. there could be goals here. is arsene wenger‘s time as arsenal manager soon to come to an end? we've been here before of course but today many media outlets are reporting that a leaked list of potential replacements has been drawn up by the club. germany international bossjoachim low, celtic boss brendan rodgers, monaco's leonardojardim and manchester city coach mikel arteta are all said to be in the running, while carlo ancelotti's name has aso been touted. club legend ian wright had this to say on wenger
6:36 pm
following sunday's league cup defeat against manchester city. i would have given him a year with an option out of respect. if it played out like it is playing out now, you don't take up the option because thing has to change. if we are to believe he will do what he does and parish himself into the seat, i want him to finish it. then we have to go from now or bmw season whatever it brings and then next season, whatever that brings. the fa ns season, whatever that brings. the fans have got to go through all of this and next season of what they feel right now and how i feel. i wa nt feel right now and how i feel. i want him to start to challenge again and signing players and make it exciting again. somebody will come in and around arsenal who were laid down the law to people and a new

manager and the players who are now on easy street. they own easy street and rent out properties on it. it needs to change because i don't want arsenal to slip off into that. how long will it take him to get back now western mark it will take them a few years to get back into that because everybody is progressing right now and moving forward. all of that tap five —— top five. arsenal are right now going the other way and they will need to stop that, get and they will need to stop that, get a manager that goes the other way and attract the player. it will not go to that five and try and come to arsenal. joining me as an arsenal blogger. what do you make of ian wright? he

is keen for arsenal to reinsert themselves in the premier league. you can see for a number of years, there has been a steady decline in there has been a steady decline in the way arsenal have performed in the way arsenal have performed in the league from a team that was a lwa ys the league from a team that was always challenging for the title, to one that was always in the top four, to one that has been battling and one that is out of the top four and doesn't look likely to get back in the premier league this season. has the premier league this season. has the level of rage we have seen from the level of rage we have seen from the arsenal fans reached the level of rage we have seen from the arsenalfans reached new the level of rage we have seen from the arsenal fans reached new levels cost man ——? we have been here before. there is a lot of acceptance of the situation arsenal are in. people can look and see it is not competitive enough, that it has flaws that don't get fixed, that aren't addressed in the transfer market. defensively and midfield, problems that have been ongoing and nobody seems to be doing anything about them. i don't think it is rage per se. there is a desire. i can't
6:39 pm
speak on behalf of all arsenal fans but they have to see something different and some has detected on a different and some has detected on a different direction. they were so passive against manchester city. different direction. they were so passive against manchester citym did surprise me because arsenal, what has been the saving grace has been the cup finals and the ability to win games against big opposition on the way to those fa cup winds. they beat manchester united, man city, tottenham, liverpool, chelsea in every one of those campaigns. they have become —— beaten one or two of the big teams along the way and it was disappointing to see when there was a chance that silverware, another chance, that the team just didn't seem to be able to get itself the day. it was the big disappointment. notjust the day. it was the big disappointment. not just the the day. it was the big disappointment. notjust the gulf between manchester city and arsenal, but that there wasn't more fight from the arsenal team. what do you

make of the short list of potential managers? it is a big job and the most interesting thing is that the short list has emerged as being lea ked short list has emerged as being leaked into the public domain and it is very interesting it has reached all the newspapers at the same time which would make you think it was breached from someone in the club getting the names out there into the public domain. there are other names not molest. people talk about carlo ancelotti as well but the most interesting thing is that list is out there now and it has started the discussion about what is going to happen, whether it happens this summer happen, whether it happens this summer or next summer when arsen veng's contract runs out. —— arsene wenger. it is change coming soon. veng's contract runs out. —— arsene wenger. it is change coming soonlj think we dropped out there. coming up in the programme... everyone can read it and i would

other stories making the headlines today. it's not been a good day. hibernian head coach neil lennon has received two charges from the scottish fa, following his behaviour in saturday's 2—2 draw at kilmarnock. lennon reacted angrily when the referee awarded kilmarnock a penalty, which led to their equaliser. he was sent to the stands and later described the standard of refereeing in scotland as mickey mouse. he's facing charges of misconduct and criticising a match official. the other managers gave a lot worse than saturday. even if you see the referee coming across to talk and stood there quite calmly, i disputed the decision at the time like any other manager would. there was no conversation between me and the referee and i was sent straight to the sound, hence my reaction which i already regret. the eight—time olympic gold medallist usain bolt will fulfil a dream in june, when he plays football at old trafford. he's a huge manchester united fan and he will captain of the world 11, in the soccer aid match, where he'll take on robbie williams‘ england side.

controversy after he criticised her morgan who was given a wild card. when asked who he was on social media with, he said... morgan has since labelled his compatriot bully a keyboard warrior. mark williams was asked to address the elephant in the room while he sat beside him. probably not to make any comment. everyone can read it and i would rather talk about the match today and how well i played and how well i have been playing all season. do not think you have been disrespectful to darren on what you said on social media? there is no point in making any further comments. he said what he said and nothing you can do about it. what would your argument be with regard to the wild card system.

jackson page you see should have been here in the first place. he was here but you felt he should of got in there straightaway shouldn't have been an issue. he got in as a top up because joe swale been an issue. he got in as a top up becausejoe swale had to pull out. he has got in and it is what it is. darren has beatenjackson page five times this season and beat him in the tournament to determine who qualified for the welsh open. the rules were there and we knew what they had to do from the outset. ask me any more questions about the tournament or the next match? awkward. she's one of scotland's best ever middle distance runners who believes her wait for a global track medal will end this week. laura muir is the british isoo—metre record holder but has yet to make the podium at world or olympic level. can she end the wait at the world indoor athletics championships in birmingham? she's been speaking to us. by
