to more foreign investors?” measures about opening up the market to more foreign investors? i think thatis to more foreign investors? i think that is exactly what is going to do. china has always welcomed investment. the problem and what companies are complaining about is being treated equally with chinese companies and not being put in on that disadvantage. the chinese talk about opening at reform, and the implication being it will be a level playing field. we will be treated fairly, and sadly that is not enough. that doesn't come through as well. let me put this to you. at the ci’ux well. let me put this to you. at the crux of this is that massive trade imbalance between china and the us, the massive trade deficit that president trump keeps going on about. the chief economist of goldman sachs has just said that the only quick fix is really for the us to be plunged into recession. so is that what is going to take? that the only easy way to resolve this is the unthinkable? it's sort of years, but then again, that only because trump has looked at this trade deficit as the primary measure of the chinese

and american relationship. and clearly global trade is obviously a balance. all the trade happens in the world and some are in surplus and some are in deficit. but the relationship is far more than just trade. it was a global supply chains, the iphone is the classic example. iphones may be assembled in china, but clearly apple is profiting and there are many countries involved in that chain. 0bviously countries involved in that chain. obviously the relationship with china is far more important for many american companies, because they have plants, they are building and selling to the chinese market of american factories in china, as it were. and so simply saying that it isa were. and so simply saying that it is a some of chinese and american goods is not the full picture and what all companies want is a fair playing field and fair access within china. for a round-up of the day's news, oui’ china. for a round-up of the day's news, our reporter in the newsroom. it is clear we didn't do enough, those other words we expect to hear
