hello. this is breakfast, with naga munchetty in windsor on the eve of the royal wedding. prince harry and meghan markle have been here overseeing the final preparations. today, the bride's mother, doria ragland, will, for the first time, be introduced to the queen. but as the town gears up for the big day, it's still to be confirmed who will walk the bride down the aisle. good morning from the long walk. it's quiet. different tomorrow morning. across the board, notjust in windsor. chilly. for most, pleasa nt in windsor. chilly. for most, pleasant and sunny. cloud and patchy rain in the north—west. more details in15 rain in the north—west. more details in 15 minutes. good morning.

glorious. the sun is popping up. carol will tell us what it will be like. that windsor castle tomorrow, prince harry will marry meghan markle. doria ragland, meghan markle's mother, will meet the queen. she is in residence, as you can see by the flag. they are making final preparations before tying the knot. everyone today will be thinking about their own wedding. do you remember thinking 2a hours before your wedding? the question at the moment is who will walk the bride down the aisle in saint georges chapel. the months of planning are very nearly over. a chapel with a history which stretches back across the centuries will stage a wedding which will be watched by audiences stretching around the globe. harry and meghan were at the castle
6:03 am
yesterday afternoon for a final run—through with the bridesmaids and pageboys. on the streets of windsor, the best seats have already been bagged. the military have been through their paces, rehearsing the carriage procession which will take the newly married harry and meghan, weather permitting, in an open carriage through the streets of windsor. the stage is pretty much set, the principal players are more or less assembled, but it is still not clear who will be performed one important role. who, in the absence of the bride's father, thomas markle, will walk her down the aisle? the most obvious candidate is meghan‘s mother, doria ragland. she arrived at windsor yesterday, and she will be meeting the queen there this afternoon. another possibility is that prince charles could escort meghan to the altar. it would be a significant gesture of welcome to the family's newest member. we should know today.

nicholas witchell, bbc news, windsor. we are getting ready for the wedding tomorrow. we know the ceremony will have about 600 guests. what about the cake? some new pictures this morning of the wedding cake. prince harry and meghan have chosen an organic lemon and elderflower cake. in keeping with the trans—atlantic nature of the occasion, they've enlisted californian chef, claire ptak, to bake the cake. instead of a more traditional fruit cake, it will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers. they will be getting excited about the first slice into that. joining me is sarah campbell, our royal correspondent. excitement is building up. people are waiting on

cloud, patchy light rain and drizzle. that's how we start tomorrow, with the patchy light rain and drizzle but through the day that will tend to break up and the sun will tend to break up and the sun will come out here and for the bulk of the uk, we're looking at a fine and dry day, temperatures a wee bit up and dry day, temperatures a wee bit up on what we had today. we've talked about the royal wedding already, for the scottish fa cup final and the wembley fa cup final, fine and dry with temperatures in the low 20s, 23 tomorrow quite nice. but on the north sea coastline, the temperature will be that bit lower. as we head on to sunday, for england and wales, still looking at a lot of dry, finance the conditions, a fair bit of sunshine with healthy temperatures but for the north—west, our weather front makes more progress and it will move across scotla nd progress and it will move across scotland and into northern ireland with some rain. the heaviest rain will be across the north—west of scotland. we could even see it get further south into northern england but it will be patchy light rain and drizzle. so, if you're coming to the

the man of the moment, prince harry. the transformation of harry from that of a young prince, to army captain and now as a campaigner. we will look at what he has been up to. he says the stars have aligned. what will they be up to today? the night before. 24 hours before the wedding, jitters and excitement are building. they will be tweaking the plans and making sure everything is going according to plan. what will happen todayis according to plan. what will happen today is the mother of meghan markle will meet the queen. that will probably take place at windsor castle. it will be a strange experience for her. harry and meghan will welcome her. they are staying at separate places which is
6:42 am
traditional. harry will be near ascot with william, the best man, and meghan will be in clifton, the home of nancy astor. they are about a20 home of nancy astor. they are about a 20 minute drive each way. a short journey for tomorrow morning. we have not been told who will walk meghan markle down the aisle. her father said he was too unwell to do it. her mother is the likely candidate for that role. they are to drive together tomorrow. it would be simple for her to get out of the car and accompany her daughter. we have talked about preparations. they are expecting about 120,000 talked about preparations. they are expecting about 120 , 000 people talked about preparations. they are expecting about 120,000 people to come to windsor and witness the wedding. why did they choose this place? harry will not be a king.
6:43 am
they can choose a more intimate setting for the wedding. saint georges chapel feels that role. westminster has 2000, this one has 600. they only invited guests they know. william invited foreign diplomats and so on. harry only invited family and friends. 600 and than 200 later for a invited family and friends. 600 and than 200 laterfor a private party in the evening. it will be a lovely occasion. not a state occasion. we have not had a bank holiday, as you might notice. it is on saturday. that is indicative of his lower status as a royal. he will not be future king. we just got that his development from a young man. what do you make of harry and meghan markle as a couple in terms of how the public views them? they are much more related ball,
6:44 am
meghan is biracial, a big step for britain as a country cash related ball. they are definitely more related ball —— related ball. the fact they have both worked and they have had properjobs, meghan wasn't famous straightaway, a poll a couple of months ago put them at the top of the list of the most relatable royals, meghan isn't one yet, so astounding she has won the hearts of the people. victoria speaking to me, victoria howard. have you noticed the sunshine? it is warming up. it could be the theme of the day, but who am i to say? carol has all the answers. good morning, carol. good morning, naga, you're
