and this is where those people specially chosen to be inside the grounds, just starting to make their way in. it's going to be a memorable day for all of them. they're just starting to settle down. i don't think they will need a blanket, it is very warm already! the couple really wanted members of the public to feel part of the celebrations — so more than 2,500 people have been invited inside the grounds today. some 1,200 of those have been nominated have been nominated by lord lieutenants — across the country — for work in their own communities. they'll get the chance to see the bride and groom — and their chapel guests and we'll be talking to some of them later. and on the far side of the lower ward is st george's chapel, where the doors will open at 10 o'clock. will open at half past nine.

and that's when we'll see for the first time what florist philippa craddock and her team have been doing inside. so what does the day look like? here are some of the key timings for you. the bride will start herjourney to windsor castle, leaving cliveden house at ten past eleven. most of the wedding guests will be seated by 11.15. members of the royal family will start arriving at the galilee porch of the chapel at 11.20 prince harry and his best man the duke of cambridge will arrive at the west door of the chapel at 11.40. the moment everyone‘s waiting for — the bride will arrive with her bridesmaids and pageboys just before midday and then the service will begin. nothing official released on the guest list but i can tell you there

to decorate the chapel itself. here we have the moment when the south door of st george's chapel is opened on this royal wedding day. it is the moment that lots of people will be giving the signal to come to the chapel itself, and look at the decoration. philippa craddock and the team have done this over the last couple of days, decorate the chapel with all kinds of locally sourced foliage. it really is a kind of flowing, glorious leg. that cascade of flowers and greenery, lots of roses. lots of blooms, lily of the valley, foxgloves. trees, beach and birch have been woven as well. that is one section, forming an archway over the south door. let me tell you, there is more to come. elsewhere in st george's chapel, you will see that this display is truly on an epic scale. take a look at

this. i cannot tell you how beautiful it is. indeed, the aroma, when you go into the chapel itself, because these roses are glorious. absolutely glorious. a little explanation of what we're looking at, that section of the chapel because it is split into two parts. both decorated richly. 0n because it is split into two parts. both decorated richly. on a little more than the other. this is the nave, the big open space at the west end of st george's chapel. there we have the oregon screen, you can see the casework on either side, and beyond that, the much more intimate and medieval setting of the quire. this is where you have the heart of the ritual, the life of the erotic nights, the knights of the garter. this is where they hold their

service and have their own seats in the quire, and you have the medieval display of carpentry and banners, right at the heart of this chivalry and her role big order. i cannot really underline enough how powerful an impression this creates. this is the setting for today's wedding service at windsor. we are looking at the quire, where the royal family will take their seats, were guests on both sides will be taking their seats later on. there will be some familiarfaces on seats later on. there will be some familiar faces on either side, seats later on. there will be some familiarfaces on either side, not just members of the royal family but other specially invited guests. i will not spoil the surprise at this stage, we will see them arriving a short while. that is the quire. back in the nave, we have this glorious decoration. that will be one the prime of features of the day. look at the window at the west end. take in the scene. that is one of the

biggest medieval windows in the world. you have all of this floral display, and this free—flowing look. it is almost trying to blend this medieval, gothic architecture with these displays. it has been done with a touch of genius and chatting to philip and the team, i asked them when they were wrapping up last night, and they said, actually, it will be five o'clock in the morning. that is the result. when you see the west door a little later on, where the bride will arrive, if anything it is more impressive. you have the west door, tucked underneath the great medieval west window. all of that to come but a taste of the beauty and the glory of st george's chapel, windsor. the scene of today's service. thank you very much. intimate and branded the same time. quite the

who tripped and fell into my life and ifell into her life. their paths crossed in 2016 when a mutualfriend suggested a blind date. meghan had only one concern. i had one question, is he nice? if he wasn't kind, it didn't seem like it would make sense and so we went and met for a drink. i was beautifully surprised when i walked into that room and saw her and there she was, sitting there. i was like, i really have to up my game here! i think very quickly we said, what are we doing tomorrow? we should meet again. what are we doing tomorrow? let's meet again. then it was, diaries, we need to get our diaries out and find out how we're going to make this work, because i was off to africa for a month, she was working and we said, "right, where's the gap? " and the gap happened to be the perfect place. i managed to persuade her to come join me in botswana and we camped out with each other under the stars and spent five days out there which was fantastic.

then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure we had a chance to get to know each other. the family's been great. we've had a really nice time getting to know them and progressively helping me to feel a part of not just the institution, but also part of the family. harry and meghan chose the invictus games in toronto for their first official appearance together and, just two months later, in harry's cottage at kensington palace, he popped the question. it was so sweet and natural and very romantic. he got on one knee. the ring is yellow gold and the diamonds either side are from my mother's jewellery collection to make sure that she's with us on this crazy journey together. it's beautiful and he designed it. it's incredible. both of us have passions for wanting to make change, change for good. one of the first things we spoke about when we met was the different things we wanted to do in the world. we hope to try and have as much

impact for all of the things we care about as much as possible. i am very excited about that. whatever we have to tackle, together or individually, it'll always be us together asa team. so, i think she's capable of... so nicely said, isn't it? oh, i don't know. she's capable of anything. are you cry and? i'm not going to do it because we are live on tv! we're joined now by george the poet, who opened the show for us with his beautiful poem, the beauty of union. it is very nice to have you with us again and it was kind of remarkable to have you talking about the modern love story which the eyes of the world a re love story which the eyes of the world are upon in that very ancient place, if what was it like to proclaim your work in such a space?

far, the press conference i saw, i think the energy struck me the most. fantastic energy, and like the others, a real people person, so when we go and private visits, able to sit down and talk to anybody and everybody on their level. to start to get undertheirskin everybody on their level. to start to get under their skin about what they are concerned about, how can we make a difference and help to improve their lives? people often wonder, these young royals, they are there for the camera, that is great and it brings publicity, but what are they doing behind the scenes. so let me as you, what is harry doing behind—the—scenes? let me as you, what is harry doing behind-the-scenes? i've been working at the royal foundation, and the armed forces programme since 2013, andl armed forces programme since 2013, and i have worked with the royal highness is on many different different programmes, specifically with prince harry on the invictus game, and most recently, with his work to do with the military, and the mental health of the armed forces community. it is not there for the cameras. the amount of hours

they put in behind the scenes. driving the decisions, prince harry in particular, he has a real visionary brain. he conceivably wants a project to go and he drives it forward. tell us about wellchild and were prince harry fits in? years been patron of wellchild for ten years. we are the national charity for seriously ill children. 0ur years. we are the national charity for seriously ill children. our main cause is to get children out of hospital, to make sure they can be cared for at home and have everything they need to be cared for at home. prince harry bought into that early on. we have grown in that 10—year period and he has been behind that and pushed us forward. was there an instance where he met a child at one of your days, and you would know this better than i, but the child told him he was waiting for the prince to turn up? you're never sure how children will react anyway. i am sure you know. prince

harry comes to our wellchild awards every years. he has met hundreds of the families and children. some of them are here at the castle. prince harry had a whole conversation with the naked old. he had no idea. he spent the whole time looking over his shoulder waiting for the prince and his crown to arrive. the whole conversation finished and he did not realise until afterwards that that was prince harry. that is one of the interesting things. there are very approachable. members of the public feel like they can talk to them. when i was on the train coming back with prince harry and meghan from nottingham, suddenly word got around. everybody working on the train was coming to collect rubbish are served tea and they were chatting to them and giving them congratulations, commenting on meghan's amazing teeth and telling prince harry how well he had done for himself. she does have great smile. we wish you a wonderful day. what the date will be, and what the

know, it was set up in 2006 with harry. looking at the plight of the vulnerable children. but that vulnerability, as we said before, spreads from hiv, disability, both physical and mental, and we have a very unique group of vulnerable children called cowboys. that is where are coverages. “— children called cowboys. that is where are coverages. —— herd boys. the problem is addressing the stigma through education, getting young people involved. we appreciate that we need to empower the young people to ta ke we need to empower the young people to take the lead in some of these interventions. what is the biggest progress you have made in the past 12 years? it is on the side of white keirins of hiv patients. young people in lesotho, because of the stigma, because of the negative

aspect of hiv and taking the drugs, these young people were either falling by the wayside, afraid to ta ke falling by the wayside, afraid to take the drugs, but through the organisation which deals with children with hiv, we have seen a significant growth in terms of numbers, and kids are now taking the drugs, and they are advocates for a more positive and productive society and community. what does that work callous, because you know him well, what does it tell us about harry's character? two days a day of great celebration and he starts a new chapter in his life today but can you tell us more about the way he clearly wa nts you tell us more about the way he clearly wants to be of service to other people and use the incredible position of influence he has. to use it for the good of others? from the day he landed in lesotho, we drove

across country, and at the end of that eight weeks, he said, is this it? he said, no, we cannot stop at this. i have seen. there is lots we can do together. lots can be done for the children of lesotho. now, the model, having achieved some great things in the country, there are still some challenges. we are exporting the model to expanding into botswana. botswana is also equally hiv ravaged among adolescents and other vulnerable groups. the best practice that he has been in the driving seat for, to drive the passion, to drive us into action, because he started this from zero. but he has always had the vision and the passion. that passion shows in the response that he gets from the young people when he comes

day. fascinators. we can go to anita rani, who is nowjoined i think by one of today's guests. and i am with a representative of rhino conservation in botswana. welcome. thank you very much, it is a great privilege. prince harry is a patron of your conservation charity, what does that mean? well, a few years ago i got talking to harry about the conservation of rhinos and my organisation in botswana and to my supplies he got really interested and thenl supplies he got really interested and then i discovered that he enjoyed conservation, he understood what it meant to the people of the world to have conservation. and so we got talking about conservation and rhino conservation in our country. and he is quite hands-on? 0h, we have done a number of operations together, hands—on with the rhinos, we also work with

people. he is particularly interested in the links between people and wildlife and in our case, rhinoceros, yes. he has to scripted botswa na rhinoceros, yes. he has to scripted botswana as his second home and we know that three or four weeks into his relationship with meghan, they slept under the stars in botswana, what is it about botswana which makes it such a beautiful place? well, i don't know. very friendly people, wide open spaces, absolutely magnificent countryside. and a leadership that is very pragmatic, concerned about wildlife. it's just a wonderful, wonderful place on earth. how do you think prince harry will be feeling right now? well, i don't know, i can't comment, really, on that but i imagine like anybody on that but i imagine like anybody on his wedding day he will be a touch nervous but he's a confident individual, i imagine he will get through it ok. and you look very smart, ami

values in a society that's about equality of opportunity and multiculturalism. and i think that meghan markle is certainly someone who represents the latter. she has become successful through her own tale nt become successful through her own talent and hard work, she's used her celebrity to jumping causes that she is passionate about, and also as a woman of mixed heritage she hasn't shied away from speaking about the, she has owned it. and as a black woman of mixed heritage myself in britain i think there has been a lot of pressure, if you're entering spaces that have previously been very white to downplay your identity. and i think she represents a real cultural change in her willingness not to minimise it but to speak about it and for me that sends a powerful signal, that you can own your identity, it is not something to shy away from, and but also there is nothing essentially white about britishness. for a lot of people the royal family represent a sense of british identity, and until now that had been identity very much linked to whiteness in

many people's perceptions. sol think the symbolic change which meghan's entry to that family makes is actually quite profound. is there an inherent tension the meghan markle, do you think, because she has spoken very quickly about the subject of her own race and her personal struggle with making peace with her identity and what it was, there is inherent to the leg in the royal family, that is the very tradition of it, they hand down the privilege and she is about equality of opportunity, is there paradox, do you predict tension there? there are so you predict tension there? there are so many paradoxes and i can personally relate to it. while i have felt quite alienated by the idea of inherited privilege, at the same time my own struggles with identity have made me appreciate the need for cultural continuity. so while i did not really relate to the royal family i related to the fact that people did. i can relate to the need for that tradition. as the world changes, that sense of a history which lived today. so i

think everyone can relate to the need to have traditions you embrace andl need to have traditions you embrace and i respect that for a lot of people the royal family provider that. you pointed out earlier on, there is no reason as to why you should downplay your identity and embrace essentially your in—laws as well! speaking of in-laws, just going into the chapel... we are sitting among the splendour, we are completely, i have to say i am enjoying it, we are buying into it today, do you think meghan markle exit more difficult for people have a tendency towards republicanism to bea a tendency towards republicanism to be a republican, because she represents something distinctive different? anecdotally there are many people i know who have always been very sceptical of the royal family whojust been very sceptical of the royal family who just cannot help themselves from being interested in this wedding! in spite of all of their ideology, theyjust can't help it, because they feel compelled by her! and look at who she has invited, she has invited other self—made people, invited, she has invited other self— made people, lacked invited, she has invited other self—made people, lacked icons,

stephen so you had that empathy. the day for me was kind of roller—coaster so, to have somebody so roller—coaster so, to have somebody so calm and just really engaging, it was really good to have that. what did she talk to you about? she did not really is he that much, i think she really understood what happened around stephen and saying how sorry she was and she was really pleased to be there at the time. we talked a little bit about this earlier on, and royal family always have causes and royal family always have causes and it looks like meghan is bringing those causes on. they will not get involved in party politics but there isa involved in party politics but there is a point where horses and politics can overlap? i remember when their relationship was first announced, there was a lot of language in the press which i felt was very coded, racist references. prince harry issued a statement where he called

back out and condemned it and it was completely unprecedented for a senior royal to do that. and i think that it senior royal to do that. and i think thatitis senior royal to do that. and i think that it is difficult for them to put themselves out there on issues like this, but when it affect them personally, they do, and for me that was a hugely welcome moment. rebel like me who write about these things, we are often attacked ourselves. and to have somebody in that position be on your side makes a huge difference and i hope that they will continue to venture into spaces which historically have been considered a bit too difficult or awkward, because that's what we need in this country, we need to start talking about things and i think that meghan really has a track re cord that meghan really has a track record in doing that. harry has now entered that realm as well, and i think there is a lot of promise in that and i do not think they would do it for this reason, but if the royal family one to make themselves more relevant to a new generation thatis more relevant to a new generation that is exactly the kind of thing they need to do. we saw john and
