are here today. just the whole experience is stunning, and the day is lovely, and it's just magic. we have got a great position, yes, a really great position, so hopefully we will be fit to see all, and get a glimpse of her dress, nearly first, yes, so it's just amazing. thank you! this was a ringside seat for the wedding comings and goings, a close—up view of the celebrity guests, the royal arrivalsjust metres away, and, of course, the bride and groom passing by. i feel as though i'm in a dream. it's been unforgettable, it's been absolutely exhilarating. i'm a guy, so i couldn't comment on her dress, but she looked stunning when she went past. a year ago, amelia thompson was caught up in the manchester arena bombing. today, she was at a royal wedding. how was it?
10:46 pm
it was just so amazing, like, to see all the famous people arriving and leaving. i took a selfie with david beckham, and it wasjust, like, a really special memory. all of those here have had a unique experience. they have been an important part of a royal wedding that the bride and groom said they wanted to share with as many people as possible. fantastic. brilliant. really brilliant. fantastic! they were the wedding guests rewarded for their good work, or personal courage. daniela relph, bbc news, windsor castle. that's all from me but — before we go, here are some of the memorable moments from windsor, on what has been a very special day. bells ringing. cheering. trumpets playing. soloist singing. dr king was right.
10:47 pm
we must discover love. the redemptive power of love. i, harry, take you, meghan... to be my wife... to be my wife. i, meghan, take you, harry... to be my husband... to be my husband. # so darling, darling, stand by me # stand by me, yeah # stand by me, stand by me # stand by me, whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me # stand by me # good evening, with the world's eyes
10:48 pm
fixed on hello. most of the papers from tomorrow are in atjust one story is in town, no surprise for the front pages, the royal wedding. joining me for a look at the day is martin lipton, the chief sports reporter at the sun, and kate andrews, from institute of economic affairs. we can have a look at some of the front pages. the sun have this already iconic picture. the sunday telegraph get the same scene from a different angle, capturing some of the adoring crowd. this sun express goes for a close—up, celebrating the couple's wedding day joy. close—up, celebrating the couple's wedding dayjoy. and the guardian has the same image. let's begin. where to start?
10:49 pm
a p pa re ntly let's begin. where to start? apparently there was a big match and it wasn't at wembley! there were two big matches. what did you make of it? what is clear is that the couple are very much besotted with each other which is great and it is a good news story. we have had so many miserable stories and for a weekend everybody is happy and smiling. let's enjoy that. there was only going to be one story in every paper and one picture and the question is which angle they use! it was always going to be the story and the picture of the day and let's just enjoy the moment. i completely ee, enjoy the moment. i completely agree, it is nice that people are talking about the wedding or foot ball talking about the wedding or football but something not so politically related and does not involve brexit! we can take a break
10:50 pm
and rememberthere are involve brexit! we can take a break and remember there are things in life outside politics. the first thing to say is congratulations to them. they look completely in love and they have modernised this wedding ina and they have modernised this wedding in a way that they will not have seen before. you think it felt different to some of the others?m did, michael curry, his speech really showed that side of it, the american side coming over and introducing americanisms into the wedding with the gospel choir, different kinds of culture. what meghan and harry represent is britain in 2018 and they did a nice job of that. it was less stuffy. there did seem a bit of a disconnect between one side of the church and the other in terms of the attitude, the film stars on one side. if you have grown up in the british royal family and establishment you are not supposed to show emotion. and you have done this before! and
10:51 pm
you look at the crowds lining either side of the drive through windsor park. and all over the country it seems, i know there were street parties everywhere, harper doesn't just round where i live in south—west london. —— half a dozen. the country has had some fun and we don't have enough of it. it was a thoroughly modern wedding, very different to previous royal wedding is quite clearly. but the flip side is quite clearly. but the flip side is the scrutiny will now begin. it has been a difficult week, not the easiest few days. that seems to have dissipated. but it will not be forgotten. hopefully this is the template for things moving forward. it seemed a joyous occasion and let's celebrate. and if you are the english tourist board watching, you will be thinking this is pretty good. the sun shining and it looks beautiful. the economy is proving!
10:52 pm
—— are booming. will allocate's wedding is to give a boost about £2 billion —— at will and kate. it costs a lot but easily the economy is benefiting. and equally, not being too cynical, if you're in the royal press office... you needed a good day! it has been a pretty ropey week all told and they needed some positivity. no question that the pictures and the smiles and the broadcast, the world attention, it showcased britain, simple as that. this is what we are about. yes, we are tradition, heritage, glamourand glitz, but modern as well and this is the ad man's dream in terms of selling the country. there were 1.9 billion viewers that tuned in. modest people in the uk, i can guarantee a lot of americans were watching. —— guarantee a lot of americans were watching. — — not guarantee a lot of americans were watching. —— not just
10:53 pm
guarantee a lot of americans were watching. —— notjust people in the uk. we had a bit ofan watching. —— notjust people in the uk. we had a bit of an issue with the uk at one time but we moved past it and americans are huge consumers of the information and the glitz around the world family. and the other thing, not just around the world family. and the other thing, notjust british girls who might want to grow and cream are being a princess! —— and dream of being. i think whether you want to being. i think whether you want to bea being. i think whether you want to be a princess or not, it is a modern—day love story. and i think everybody in some capacity can relate to it which is so nice. and when you see the two of them, beaming through the tv screen, particularly meghan's smile. beaming through the tv screen, particularly meghan's smilem beaming through the tv screen, particularly meghan's smile. it was radiant and gorgeous, a lovely day. for once we can radiant and gorgeous, a lovely day. foi’ once we can say, radiant and gorgeous, a lovely day. for once we can say, that was nice. don't be a curmudgeon! live and let live. you don't have to be interested but don't deny those who are their moment. particularly the

people who camped out, that was dedication. for over 48 hours, they we re dedication. for over 48 hours, they were sleeping in chairs, i think they were sensible and abroad a lot of gin and tonics! staple food in england. and when william and harry we nt england. and when william and harry went out yesterday to see them and speak to them, i am sure they enjoyed themselves. thank you very much. that is it for the papers, a short one but martin and kate will be back at 11:30pm for a full look at the newspapers. good evening. the weather played a starring role across the uk today and! starring role across the uk today and i am sure there was many a bride and i am sure there was many a bride and groom up and down the country who enjoyed skies like this. and under those sunny skies, strong sunshine, it probably felt warmer thanit sunshine, it probably felt warmer than it was an attempt is reaching
