champion finals, you have that extra step, in 1998. it's just champion finals, you have that extra step, in 1998. it'sjust a feeling that this is an opportunity to make the season right. the fans watching macca and co are the lucky ones because the flight chaos to ukraine is getting worse... myriad travel have announced tonight they've been forced to drop one of their flights and that's in addition to the thousand people affected by the world choice sports cancellations which can't be rescheduled despite the best efforts of both the mayors of liverpool's and kyiv. it is simply not good enough for 2018, that uefa has allowed this to happen and all the people, as well. someone needs to take responsibility. somebody has to be held accountable for what clearly is, as i say... i am not in any way underestimating what this is. it is a shambles. as i say, people have been let down and wrongly so. chris froome is on his way to becoming the first briton to win all three grand tours after he swept to the overall lead in the giro d'italia with two stages to go. it came at the expsense of long—time leader simon yates' whose fairytale reign is over.

joe lynskey reports. in grand touras in grand tour as you write for weeks and they keep coming. second last day in the out what took its on sign m, day in the out what took its on sign in, he led since the start, this is where his hopes ended. a of endurance swept away in one bold move. chris attacking from the front, not at the finish, but with 50 miles to go. even in his all conquering career, he made no statement like this. for hadn't started, but as he went at his side at the chases, he was within reach, and with every turn a growing sense of one of the great rights. the, the overall leader like a0 seconds. after his troubled year, this was the dead smiles returned and while i

is on the podium, he was crossing the line. he fell by more than half an hour, beaten by the clients, england's cricketers endured another disappointing day at lord's as pakistan continued to build a big first innings lead in the opening test. they're 350—8 — 166 ahead going into the third day partly due to some good solid batting and partly due to some pretty poor england fielding. our correspondent joe wilson reports. can you sense the frustration and throw? it was the overriding a motion on day one and it would remain into today's first session as well. sharon, strong, sturdy and adding. reaching 50 before mark and james anderson got both men before lunch. but just as james anderson got both men before lunch. butjust as the were made to feel uncomfortable, they settled in,

yet again. there were the next to reach as england's18a quickly passed. but ben stokes can change any game and that is all but often happens, and in the once last over before tea, once more. with the poorest piece of cricket his side of playing in two days. in the final session, he remained on 68, not out though only for stokes to do more damage. he had to retire hurt to get with the tail end they battled on yet again, we all know what the best form of defences, pakistan definitely do. their lead over 150 now, and drops like this will not help england's scores. and despite some late success of the ball, the frustration grows. it's definitely hard, when you,
10:34 pm
honestly, but we've done this week in the plane that has been taken, it's hard to believe, because of the week we've gone so hard. it as those things where it seems to happen all at once, you know? i've never seen the ball go through like that, hopefully, we catch them in the seconds, and it leads to an unlikely one. let's have a look at some of the days other sports stories.... pakistan batsman babar azam is out for the test and the rest of their tour after breaking his forearm earlier today. rory mcilroy‘s is three shots ahead going into the third round of the pga at wentworth — he's twelve under after producing a bogey free — seven under par — round of 65 today. there's some rugby league super league action
10:35 pm
to tell you about — and warrington wolves completed a dramatic comeback against hull fc, winning 30—12 after finishing the first half 12—nil down. elsewhere there were wins for wakefield, huddersfield and wigan. and there were tears for britain's longest running boxing world champion — jamie mcdonnell who lost his wba world title today, after being knocked out by japanese star na—oya inoue in the opening round of his bantamweight showdown in tokyo. now back to football and tomorrow night's champions league final isn't the only big final of the day. wembley hosts the match the richest match in the sport — worth 280 million pounds to the winners... it is of course the championship play—off final, between aston villa and fulham at five o'clock. fulham just missed out on automatic promotion and are up against a villa side managed by steve bruce, who's secured promotion to the premier league more than any other manager. we have to win. as far as i'm
10:36 pm
concerned. we take that one day, we ought to put on a show. but it's all about winning as far as i'm concerned. you've got to take the clu b concerned. you've got to take the club back to where it wants to be. and there are also two huge club rugby finals taking place tomorrow. scarlet‘s head to dublin with the aim of stopping european champions leinster in the pro 1a. and the two outstanding teams in english club rugby meet in the premiership final at twickenham. it's exeter against saracens — defending champions exeter topped the table at the end of the season and it'll be their third final in as many years, saracens attempting to lift the title they won against the chiefs two years ago. a couple of years, we gave them too much of the league, and we came back in the second half, so is a bit too much to do. so yeah, we definitely
10:37 pm
are aware of that, but we are much better than we were two years ago. that's all from sportsday. hello and welcome to our look ahead to what the the papers will be bringing us tomorrow. with me are benedicte paviot, uk correspondent for france 2a and president of the foreign press association, and owen bennett, deputy political editor for huffpost uk. many of tomorrow's front pages are already in. the financial times says financial markets in spain and italy are becoming increasingly unstable following a vote of no confidence in the spanish government, and problems appointing
10:38 pm
new italian ministers. the front page of the express focuses on high costs at hospitals, the newspaper says bosses are fleecing patients and their families with high charges for phone calls, parking and shopping. the times leads with an investigation into boots, which it says is charging the nhs thousands for some unlicensed medicines that cost much less — including one mouthwash for cancer patients. the telegraph's front page features an undercover investigation into an alleged plot to fix an upcoming england cricket match. and the guardian leads with film producer harvey weinstein being charged with rape in new york. well that is it, that is of the papers are showing us. let's go through it. let's talk first of all
10:39 pm
about harvey weinstein, the contrasting pictures on the papers. they have been looking quite bullish and dejected. whatever the outcome isa and dejected. whatever the outcome is a milestone moment for all of those women who made allegations.|j think it is an massive moment, but there's been so much said against him and so many allegations. and so many women who have been waiting for this day. i think for then it is the beginning of a long process, the beginning of a long process, the beginning of a long process, the beginning of possible justice. beginning of a long process, the beginning of possiblejustice. we have seen this clip of his lawyers saying that he did not invent the casting couch. what on earth is that supposed to mean? is that some sort of defence? does the lawyer believed that it will be dismissed? i think it is the beginning of a humbling that he walked in there...
10:40 pm
showmanship. what and was showmanship. and aided by the police of how we could walk up to the car, get out of it. obviouslyjustice needs to be served and to be done he needs to be served and to be done he needs to be served and to be done he needs to have a fair trial. but the point will be is how many women are going to be allowed to testify against him? that, i think is going to be... against him? that, i think is going tobe...| against him? that, i think is going to be... ithink against him? that, i think is going to be... i think it's going to relate to individuals at the moment this going to be an awful lot of people watching the outcome of this. the nursing a tribal tonight trial of the century thing going on here. people get fascinated by the process and you lose sight of the fact that there are potential victims here and because he is a guy from hollywood and, it should be like that. it should be very much about justice
10:41 pm
and how many people are responsible for —— holding people responsible for —— holding people responsible for their actions. every for —— holding people responsible fortheiractions. every trick for —— holding people responsible for their actions. every trick he and his lawyers can. why not talking about the humbling of a hollywood personality. or even giving an inch in the face of the allegations. personality. or even giving an inch in the face of the allegationsm is complete denial. it is all according to the lawyer, and specialists, i'm sure there's been some media training there as well. he has had lots of time to prepare, i could put lots of... are we going to see those required to speak on his behalf saying that the harvey i know would never do this. i think we should see how that pans out. and as for invoking the fact that this is so for invoking the fact that this is so many years after the alleged
10:42 pm
fa cts , so many years after the alleged facts, i think that if you have been raped, you have been raped. if you have been sexually harassed or abused, that stands the test of time. it has to. although there are prescriptions. this is an abuse alleged for the moment, but a consistent abuse of power. we know he has destroyed careers and it is very easy afterwards, after the fa ct, very easy afterwards, after the fact, to save these women should've complained and got to the police, etc. a few of them did try to and they were just laughed, not literally, but it was dismissed and there are some male actors who feel very bad about that and have actually talked about the fact that they regret that they did not take and support some of those women more. and ultimately, above and beyond this court case, would be the concrete changes... it has begun. to
10:43 pm
ta ke concrete changes... it has begun. to take effect already, and we don't know is how this will play out, and the individual cases, what happens to all the other allegations? 0n the individual cases, what happens to all the other allegations? on a dog with eroding not? we don't really know, do we? civil lawsuits already he is facing, but this is just beginning. let us leave harvey weinstein for a moment and go to the two nhs stories. the story on the front page of the times which is the inquiry over the cancer drug hike. this is an investigation by a team from the times and in a nutshell, this is about special drugs. these are special drugs needed by a small number of people, and as it turns out, a very high cost. and provide the drugs to the nhs from a supplier, and that supplier is owned by the same people who own boots. so
10:44 pm
in this article they have been exploiting and saying the example cited quotes art mouthwash, can cost just under £100. £100 per pill, which can cost 13p if you were to buy it. so there's a whole load of money that is been thrown around, and this moisturizer that was only £2 and in £1500 in, and they were being charged for it. and what you think about the nhs is being strapped for cash is going to be quite a shock. and it seems like they'd refer to the findings on the markets authority to find just what is going on but then you read this and you think, my goodness! this is absolute shocking! this is disgraceful! presumably, the financial brands of baby nhs presumably look at their charges, as
10:45 pm
pa rt presumably look at their charges, as part of the review and part of them trying to make books balance, surely they're looking at this? if you present them with the bill for 25 hospitals covering, you're not going to... this is, this must be the bill. so these things can get lost in it. but i imagine that could be one of the defences that they would use, that is not being analysed probably. let's talk about the moment and look about the other nhs story. there are familiar traits to this, this is about the nhs charging for everything from car parking to the use of televisions to allegedly hiking up the cost of refreshments, the hospital shops and really sort of across the board and, this is something that shows up time and time again.
