that's bbc.com/sport. from all of us, see you soon. goodbye. hello there, good morning. on monday there was some respite, most parts of the uk were fine and dry and warm, but we're not out of the woods yet. there's more storms, more heavy rain in the next few days in this warm and humid air that we got across the uk. cloud threatened to give us a few storms in the south of england. there weren't very many at all, 27 degrees here. it was the warmest day of the year so far in scotland and northern ireland. much cooler under the grey and misty skies in the north—east of england and on those north sea coasts. and that low cloud, misty weather is pushing back inland right now on the easterly breeze because we've got higher pressure to the north, lower pressure to the south and that's going to bring more storms. perhaps by the morning, some showers coming into southern

counties of england. grey start in the midlands, northwards across eastern england, eastern scotland. low cloud retreating back to coastal areas and sunshine developing more widely. a few more heavy showers possible through the midlands towards wales later on in the day. not quite as one today for southern england. warmest weather in the sunshine for scotland and northern ireland. lovely day here. though showers may ease off for a while and we could see a cluster of heavy rain and thunderstorms pushing back into the south—east and east anglia earlier on wednesday morning. to the north of that, you've guessed it, more mist, fog and low cloud coming back in again. that will retreat back to coastal areas, but this rain is going to be on the move. a spell of a few hours of quite heavy rain, thundery too. moving westwards across england towards wales, up towards northern england. it looks a bit drier now towards the south—west and conditions should improve in the south east. but again, sunnier skies

and the highest temperatures will be across scotland and northern ireland. make the most of the dry weather here because it's probably not going to last. pressure is lowering, which is why we are finding more downpours coming in from the near continent and they will start to move their way northwards as well. so we may have a few storms across northern ireland on thursday, perhaps into the south—west of scotland. more cloud around here, certainly and more storms pushing back from the south east across england and wales. these could be pretty nasty as well, some localised flooding from these too. but everything is moving its way northwards, so by friday the wettest of the weather moves towards northern ireland, northern england, up into central and southern scotland, allowing something, at long last, a little bit drier across more southern parts of england and wales and temperatures typically into the low, perhaps mid—20s or so. over the weekend, i think we will see heavy rain and storms in scotland on saturday and perhaps into the south—west on sunday. the south—east, eastern england, largely dry with some sunshine. welcome to bbc news, broadcasting to viewers in north america and around the globe. my name is duncan golestani. our top stories: italy's two main populist parties call for peaceful protests
