we get back to that we get back to the movie, it's fun. i enjoyed it, i smiled, i laughed more than i thought i was going to, i was never bored and i went in with a theory of the alert expectations thinking as this series run it scores? and is not a waste of all that talent? there are some genuinely fantastic people in this. i love kate blanchett and sandra bullock is great. and that was enough. it's a really, really good cast and it's like one of those variety spectacular movies anyway which wherever yoo is a famous person. i enjoyed it. you know how grumpy i can be. i thought it was fun. i think you would like to. i read a thing that the too many cameos. that did not bother you ? thing that the too many cameos. that did not bother you? know he did not. i fell generally well disposed towards it and i smiled all the way through except when james towards it and i smiled all the way through except whenjames gordon was being james gordon. this is an interesting one. who doesn't love committee. in this he is brilliant

in many roles. so it's a best way, black comedy psychological chiller devised by tim and his, he's incarcerated in a bizarre prison in which he appears to be for a very long time, he's obsessed with old variety packs and comedians like max he desperately wants to go out to visit a loved 1's grave and all these characters come and visit him in his cell in hallucinations and they're all played by him, there's a really kafkaesque quality. at the beginning you can't figure out what's going on then it starts to ta ke what's going on then it starts to take this route, a reminded me a bit occasionally, there's that strange movie, tideland which had something, a few people reviewing it said its like a feature length version of the league of gentlemen but actually told me it's closer to that very odd movie funny bones, people have forgotten about that but did a

similar thing about riding along the edge of humour and psychological horror. it's not for everyone, there's no question about that but i've seated a of times now and he's really great in it. it's a great performance. it's one of the very few new lease is it —— we're a single actor could win an award for best ensemble cast. the whole ensemble being him. it's a curiosity perhaps. it's a curiosity, it's very strange, it's totally very odd and at times quite creepy. but i think it's got something and i'm not entirely sure what it is. your third choice this week, the happy prince which i found that you very sad film. rupert everett writing, directing, starring producing as well a film about the final days of oscar wilde, a passion project. essentially having served time in

intense as ever. so my heart is broken, parts are made to be broken. that is why god sent sorrow to the world. write to me as soon as you can. and tell me that i'm still your oscar. that it is interesting because the berries in here. a huge amount of tragedy. and i think what's interesting is it was quite dreamlike, i quite liked and i think i love the fact that it's about the finally years because people watching will think i know everything there is to know, we know dahl but actually, nobody talks about what happened to him once he was leaving prison and had to leave

the country. that's why it's interesting. did you feel it managed tojuggle a different interesting. did you feel it managed to juggle a different time frames because one of the things is the way it goes to its past and it did that stuff well and that can be very competitive. you can watch movies whichjump competitive. you can watch movies which jump around but competitive. you can watch movies whichjump around but i competitive. you can watch movies which jump around but i felt there was an emotional call and it made sense, it made emotional sense. i thought it worked but it was in the whole dreamlike state and how much of that because he was terribly ill and who knows what he was on to try to alleviate his symptoms and that all tied in with it. this also this talent was brought to the circumstance at one point he says the natural home of the hypocrite is england and if you feel like the

first saw it i didn't like it as much as i admired it and one of the reasons i'm glad it's been reissued is ongoing to see it projected on the big screen. because i think in order to fully appreciate it you need to see it projected so it's back on the big screen and i'll go see it monday of next week and see whether over the 25 years since it's been out i've grown up enough to think it's not just been out i've grown up enough to think it's notjust what i like it as well. i'm interested to see i remember it being a hard film and thinking he was beautiful and dictionary to look at and he loved the fact i don't remember loving it. i think all the individual elements are brilliant. what i need to do is like it has opposed to just admiring it and the big screen is the place. we have to re—watch and see if we do like it. you have seen black panther? ok fine, like it. you have seen black panther? okfine, it's like it. you have seen black panther? ok fine, it's out on dvd.

it's really good fun. the best thing about black panther is you know when it came out this of politics it's well constructed and has different storyli nes well constructed and has different storylines which you can understand and it looks fantastic and its cotterill spring in it that but what it needs to do serious it can do it. i was watching it thinking this is the most entertaining superhero film i've seen in a long time and but now it's on dvd. sit down and watch it isa it's on dvd. sit down and watch it is a real pleasure. there's a lot of enjoyable stuff and if you can find you have seek it out because it's not been a very wide release but lots of good stuff. see you next time, all the film news and reviews are on the i player, i'm sure you
