ben croucher rounds up the action: the battle cry created in scandinavia, the golf course in france, the rivalry created down the decades. the ryder cup is unmistakable. as the usa have found, it is easy to lose yourself and as a found on friday, easy to lose points, too. saturday's events carried on with this cry created in hollywood. county down. rory mcilroy‘s experience meant little mattered as his opponent's inexperience netted became a one—sided event. inexperience netted became a one-sided event. was a short. what a shot from hatton. sergio garcia found some spanish strength to see oui’ found some spanish strength to see our his opponent. butjust when another european whitewash was on, jordan spieth and justin thomas ensured they were here and heard.

they are to create another piece. it has been a great few days, it really has. they must be proud of the way they have played, stuck together and being determined to do a job but they are also very well aware of what is ahead of them to morrow. we go again tomorrow. we go back to the hotel now, we refocus, we try and get some tired legs worked on and then they get out there to morrow and this is probably there to morrow and this is probably the most important 18 holes head of these players for a long, long time. we obviously both likely cause, the conditions are great for us. we are really good friends. we like to play together, spend time together and, yes, just work from the beginning so it is great. tomorrow we will be a pa rt it is great. tomorrow we will be a part and we need to keep winning and get those jolt bug .2 missing. great couple of points for moliwood

7:38 pm
heading in10—6 miracle at medina saw europe do it heading in 10—6 down and america done it in 1999 at brookline when they were trailing by the same deficit but they came back on home soil. a very different proposition if they are too good to do it tomorrow and if they can come out on top in the final singles matches, it will have to be this partisan home crowd in front of them if they are to do it. and they had to be europeans. —— and they have two defeats be europeans. so here's a look at how they'll line up for tomorrows decisive singles matches. justin thomas and rory mcilroy have the earliest alarm — teeing off at five past eleven. tiger woods takes on rookie john rahm as he goes hunting for his first points this ryder cup. tommy fleetwood and francesco molinari who are unbeaten for europe so far take on tony finau and phil mickleson respectively. veterans bubba and stenson go head to head, and the last match on the course will be rookies bryson de chambeau v alex noren. it looks likejim it looks like jim furyk it looks likejim furyk has put all his big guns out early.

7:41 pm
well he might be trying and he might be trying hard but nothing is going the way of paul pogba orjose mourinho. who goes first? body reckon? i do not know, i'm not at liberty to say but something has to change forjose mourinho and manchester united, and the fans i think one something to change. liverpool remain undefeated in the premier league thanks to a late strike from daniel sturridge, which rescued a 1—1 draw at chelsea. chelsea took the lead when the in—form eden hazard struck his sixth premier league goal of the season — he's the top scorer. but with barely minutes left on the clock, former chelsea striker sturridge let fly and found the top corner, ensuring liverpool are yet to suffer defeat. that is his first goal from outside the box in overfour years. it means manchester united are now top of the

7:43 pm
from home but what we have to do is take a lot of the good things we showed to day into this next series of games because realistically, if i'm looking at where we are capable of getting points it is against the teams outside the top six. harry kane scored two as tottenham beat huddersfield. huddersfield still without a win this season remain bottom with spurs fourth. kane the hero. after a slow start to the season. not all good news for spurs — who already have a number of injuries — as jan vertonghen picked up a knock during the game and came off. dele alli did not play. spurs have a champions league game against barcelona on wednesday. a bit ofa a bit of a worry for them as they going to europe. very pleased and it was a tough game again. the team wanted to win. that was easy to see from the beginning.
7:44 pm
for the unbelievable fans, one of the best things for them. it was so tough and that is why we are so please to have three points more in the table today. guess you have forgotten about arsenal's slow start to the season. arsenal were looking for their seventh straight win and got it. but they left it late. two in the last nine minutes to beat watford. an own goalfrom craig cathcart, followed two minutes later by a goal from captain mesut ozil. watford sixth, arsenal fifth in the table. it's the first time watford haven't scored this season. left them feeling they'd got nothing for their efforts. the day's results for you... after two losses on the spin everton eased to victory over fulham. newcastle still without a win lost at home to leicester. a fourth win of the season

for newly promoted wolves who beat southampton 2—0. and we already know now about chelsea and liverpool, a 1—1 draw there. that is all today's games in there. that is all today's games in the premier league taking care of. manchester city at the top of the table. city, not united. and that daniel sturridge striker liverpool... what a peach. the first goal he has scored from outside the box in years and what a from klopp.|j scored from outside the box in years and what a from klopp. i almost turned over to watch strictly at that point because i was getting worried. let's move away from the premier league now and west bromwich albion are the new leaders of the championship after a 3—2 win at preston north end. fresh from knocking manchester united out of the league cup it was back down to earth for frank lampard's derby who lost 1—0 at bolton. there were also wins for sheffield united, norwich and swansea. in the scottish premiership

7:47 pm
they have won every russian grand prix since it started in 2014 and only failed to take pole once. given lewis hamilton's form and ferrari's recent decline, qualifying should have been a one horse race of the championship leader flexed his muscles earlier on, going quickest in practice and breaking the record in the first part of qualifying. pole was an inevitable outcome but formula 1 isn't always predictable and hamilton can be fallible. with ferrari's sebastian vettel way off the pace, it was team—mate valterri bottas who stood on his way. the finnish man broke the record and as he tried to catch him, the british man pushed a bit too hard. a rare mistake from hamilton who has claimed more pole positions than anyone in formula 1. he looked far from disappointed, though, perhaps he is expecting team orders during the race to help him move closer toa

fifth world title. the weather's fantastic, we've got a great crowd and it was intense naturally as it always is. my last two laps were not special but you cannot always get it right. at least we are still in the fight for the race tomorrow but the team are doing an amazing job. on to rugby union now and leaders saracens have become the first club in premiership history to begin a campaign with five bonus—point victories. bath became their latest victims today, as sarries maintained their perfect start to the campaign with a 50—27 victory. our rugby union reporter chrisjones was watching the match. with todd blackadder fielding an understrength, the backside and saracens in rampant form, this a lwa ys saracens in rampant form, this always looked like being one—sided. bath rolled it out, staying in touch with three tries but saracens to strong with eight tries, second hat—trick this season for the williams. there was also a return to

would take the rainbow jersey. a very dominant ride by anna van der breggen. a lot of plot coming into this about the dark and their strength in numbers but today i think anna van der breggen could have won that race by herself, she was that strong and to win by that margin was something super impressive. you will not forget that for a very long time. an australian team waving a kangaroo because they have a silver medallist. amanda spratt coming second. that must feel like a victory because anna van der breggen was in a class of her own and you get a silver medal was a very big accomplishment and something she should be very proud of. she has been one of those riders working tirelessly for others, so i think the people's feeling will be that she just deserves that so much. we've seen her work there so many people and to see her get a medal at the world championships is amazing. she was thrilled to get that medal and as was the bronze medallist.
7:53 pm
