that the former tottenham and england midfielder and england manager glenn hoddle has been taken to hospital after being seriously ill hoddle was broadcasting on bt sport when he collapsed — today is his 61st birthday. the channel cancelled their saturday afternoon score update programme. hoddle is considered one of spurs' greatest players and made 377 appearances for the club. winning the fa cup twice in the early 1980's. he won 53 caps for england and later turned to management, taking england to the world cup finals in 1998. there's been a lot of support for him on social media. hoddle's former england team—mate gary lineker tweeted. .. from spurs — his former club... and from the england camp...
