if‘ai‘it that “catch me if presented to him that "catch me if you can", there's drama. dramatic twists! the cat and mouse games! mockingly flashing lights. do they know... they might just flash. mockingly flashing lights. do they know... they might just flashm mockingly flashing lights. do they know... they mightjust flash. it is guesswork. no one knows anything about this. the journalists are not find anything about. the police do not know much, so they cannot because they wanted. the airport authorities don't quite know, it seems. this is a lot of people who don't really know what's going on. i would not be surprised to find out the drone operator, whenever he, she, they are found, mayjust be, " i would just try to get something to my mate on the other side of the airport and don't watch the news." it's bizarre that somebody does not know what they're doing but it is just as likely as the ecoterrorists we re just as likely as the ecoterrorists were the other mad idea chris grayling comes up with the shift the blame. there are plenty of different
10:46 pm
theories. stories about some of possible culprits actually having been cited. the sun have a picture. a man, packing some things into a rucksack, what looks like to drones. we we re rucksack, what looks like to drones. we were told these were up to ten feet... i've seen segal, i've seen ten foot as well. that's a big rucksack. he had two of them. and if you are doing something secret, why are you wearing this jacket? is he trying to perhaps shutdown an airport, perhaps bring down an airliner but wants to be seen as safe cycling home in the dark? it doesn't make any sense to me!
10:47 pm
safe cycling home in the dark? it doesn't make any sense to mam safe cycling home in the dark? it doesn't make any sense to me! it is an extraordinary mystery, and it's for neri —— it for neri after the amounts of effort going into this, there is now huge pressure on governments. the armed forces having been brought in and still, it appears that they... they certainly have not caught the culprit yet. what's frustrating everyone who is watching this, and people liked us who work in the news, as we are so used on the fixes of the media, thanks to technology, as women fixed thursday night. half past nine, we found it. —— this would have been fixed thursday night. we would have been... within half an hour, we would all be in a cell and that would all be in a cell and that would be bad. this guy kinky going for 36 hours. it's just would be bad. this guy kinky going for 36 hours. it'sjust amazing. the telegraph puts it as the police hone in on the identity of gatwick road

attacker. i wonder if there's been a little of spin doing on there. leave it when i see it. is the things they are not safe. how does it take? he's got a great big thing in his garden. the way that technology is moving on, it's clearly a factor in all this. we were hearing from an expert earlier that some of these drones can actually go to certain specific routes come up follow specific points, and it does seem as though no one has been able to trace the person operating back from the drone that people are actually seeing. that is the scary thing, isn't it? the community around gatwick is full of people who depend on that airport oi’ of people who depend on that airport or hate it in different ways. even a
10:49 pm
drone the size of the sigal or the giant one, do people never notice? people are going to see this happening. they must know someone who is doing this kind of thing. which makes me think it is part of a enterprise which is perhaps, we are all used to not talking, which would imply some kind of criminal connection perhaps. or ecoterrorist! well, yes, ecoterrorist... but... maybe that is where they're taking off from! let's take a look at some off from! let's take a look at some of the other papers taking place in the morning. the financial times looks at the announcement from donald trump, who is digging his heels into murph using, saying that he's going to insist on the funds for his border wall and that if he does not get backing from the democrats and others, he is going to block the approval of a budget. it's
10:50 pm
heading for a bleak year and, michael. apparently it's the worst december since the great depression for the markets. which sounds quite scary to me. it does look as though... we had general mattis leaving trump's employed this week. we we re leaving trump's employed this week. we were saying is the last grown—up who is going to be part of his administration in there, and it is the america's going to the maka we have at the comical bit, i think. we are having very dark but, i think, next year. i think america seems to be getting spooked by it. we were told he has changed the economy and everything was fantastic with jobs, wages going up. this suggests otherwise. always around this time, we have the valley and the market drops again. sometimes, the traders have not had the finger on the pulse. it is a bit scary. the markers are rattled in america in this was the bellwether he was
10:51 pm
saying signifies you do really well. the problem is, we have gotten very used to saying, another matt schaub thing, russian probe, and... to get an increasing number of his close associates who have been convicted of orare associates who have been convicted of or are played guilty of and or co—operate with the fbi. you have got mattis, the last of the adults... you have limit after one phone call with erdogan, pulling out of syria. you've got this latest scandal as well. the trump tower in moscow. as his associate meeting with putin's
10:52 pm
associates. just as he was about to launch his reverie white house. also, hundreds of billions of pounds owed to deutsche bank. the whole thing is getting shady. of course, throughout, huge amounts of criticism. he said, yeah, but look, america first, the trade, america first, the day campaign slogan. and again, the storage campaign slogan. and again, the storage assures campaign slogan. and again, the storage assures that argument... i i’ui'i storage assures that argument... i run this time of year, the markets doa run this time of year, the markets do a little due daley anyway. worst since the recession, that is... it is fresh hail. not looking good for him. he was warned about this at the
10:53 pm
start. he said, the america first policy is all in good, your tax cuts create a boom, but your tariffs and your america first policies are going to depress international trade and you're going to have a bust. you're going to have a sink coming if you do this and that seems to be exactly what is happening. but us just go back to the telegraph, which has amber rudd blast at astley eu chief yunker to junker —— has amber rudd blast at astley eu chief yunker tojunker —— eu chief hacker three. she is talking about his ghastly and grotesque behaviour with theresa may. he was flicking the arab head of hr in the eu. it seemed to be
10:54 pm
pretty intrusive. it was! he claims theresa may gave him a kiss. he looks a pretty grubby fellow, disney? this is my area, i would do whatever i like. itjust isn't right. i think she's right. it was ghastly. it was totally inappropriate, what he did. if i did that i work, i would probably be sacked immediately and be done for asking. why isn't he? well, u nfortu nately, asking. why isn't he? well, unfortunately, some woman i was saying, that has happened to me at work. it is younger men. you've got the wealth and pensions secretary saying, this is ghastly. saying, when i was at the eu, i would pretend to have a cold to not get in the bear hugs. we've also had the
10:55 pm
i’ow the bear hugs. we've also had the row this week about mrs may, whether she was caught a stupid woman or not byjeremy corbyn, and john bercow... what i like about this is there's a whole bunch of women who have just, are quite happy, i know had to put up are quite happy, i know had to put up with this any more and i can do something about it and that's all there is dead. all the men in question are going, this is so unfair! you are so mean to me! question are going, this is so unfair! you are so mean to mam ta ke unfair! you are so mean to mam take so long for this for some of say. i think this is the weinstein, the trump effect as well. susie, michael, thanks for that. that is it for the papers for now. don't forget that the papers are there for you. if you missed the
10:56 pm
programme and evening, you can watch it later on bbc iplayer. my thanks to michael booker and susie boniface, who'll be back no longer look at the papers at 11:30pm. but for now, goodbye. —— he will be back for now, goodbye. —— he will be back for a longer look at. hello there. it's been another day with widespread shower activity. but in between those showers, we did see some fine spells of sunshine. one of these captured towards the end of the day by dazzathegardener, who took this shot in herefordshire. the showers will continue to push eastwards overnight, clearing away from southern england for the most part and tending to become confined to the northwest of the uk. it will stay breezy for northern ireland, england and wales. so it never gets that cold. temperatures down to between 5—8 degrees, but for northeast england and scotland, there could be a few patches of frost. the air is a bit colder here. not a bad start to the weekend in many respects. most areas will see some sunshine, but there will be some showers. one or two for northern ireland,
10:57 pm
one or two for the north of wales and northwest england. the majority of the showers in the north and west of scotland, where the showers become aligned with the winds. so some of them could be quite lengthy. a mild day, though. temperatures between 9—12 degrees for most. the second half of the weekend looks like this. low pressure moving in, and that's going to be bringing in some wet weather. it's also going to bring in some big contrasts temperature—wise. the air coming from a long way south into the south of the uk, but coming from quite a long way north into the north of the uk. so those contrasts will build up on sunday. some wet weather, then. probably getting across northern ireland, getting into england and wales as well. it's across scotland that we'll have the best of the day's weather with some sunshine, but this is where the air‘s getting colder. temperatures, six degrees in stornoway and aberdeen. getting warmer, though, in the south. up to 13 in plymouth and london as well. now, that weather system will still be there or thereabouts on monday, but it's getting squished by this area of high pressure. so that means we'll see rain still affecting wales and southern counties of england, but as pressure builds, the rain will become lighter and a bit more patchy in nature.
10:58 pm
always a fair bit of cloud across western areas. the best of any sunshine in the north and east. but it continues to get colder here. temperatures, five degrees in aberdeen. cooling down towards southeast england, highs of eight in london. the warmest air towards the southwest. now that warmer air will push back northwards as we go into christmas day itself. but along with that, we'll have a lot of low cloud across some western areas, thick enough to bring us some patches of drizzle. so for western areas, it stays quite cloudy. across the east, some patchy frost and fog, but it's here where we'll have the best of any brightness on christmas day. that's your latest weather. this is bbc news. i'm carole walker. the headlines at 11: flights resume again at gatwick despite stopping briefly earlier this evening after the sighting of another drone. for some, christmas and holiday plans are ruined. they threw us to the wolves,

basically. i can't go and see my grandma, ican't basically. i can't go and see my grandma, i can't go to the wedding. it is just not acceptable. it is deplorable. us financial markets, suffer their worse week in a decade with traders nervous over the likelihood of a partial government shutdown. and roll over ariana grande — the race for this year's christmas noi has been won by ladbaby, with a song about sausage rolls. at 11:30 we'll be taking an in—depth look at the papers
