benneton beat zebre 28—10, munster v leinster i3—3 and scarlets v cardiff 5—10. the former england cricket captain andrew strauss has paid tribute to his wife ruth, who has died at the age of 46. she had been receiving treatment for a rare form of lung cancer, but died in her native melbourne overnight. strauss stepped down from his role as england team director earlier this year to support his wife and children. australia are on the verge of defeat in the third test against india, but there's been one big positive for the home side in melbourne. pat cummins shone with the ball yesterday, claiming a career best of six wickets for 27 runs. and he's followed that up with a first half century on the test stage. his stand of 61 not out forced the match into a fifth day. but australia still need another 1111 runs, while india require just two wickets to win. the series is level at one all.

back at some of our favourite places, faces and stories of 2018. but first, back in april, christa headed to norway to try her hand at playing musical instruments made out of ice. she's so cool! i start my trip at norway's ice music festival in finse. you're really feeling, you can see it in the air — it is cold here. word is, it's going to reach a low of —24 tonight. so i'd better rug up. what makes this festival extra—special is that the instruments are actually made on the day from nearby ice.
