a bit of bit sn’f fmmm the moment. a bit of football news and some business news. real madrid have overtaken manchester united as the world's richest football club. but there's positive news for the premier league, with the big six all making the top ten. every year we do this there are more english clubs in the top ten or 20 than any other country because of the strength in depth of the premier league so not only is it ahead in terms of scale financially but it shares that broadcast money much more equally than most other countries so we have spurs now in the top ten and all of the big six. of course spurs will expect to go from strength to strength with the new stadium when that opens and it is an interesting battle for number one in london between arsenal, chelsea and spurs, all in a line so interesting to see how that plays out. the end of this month sees the new super league season in rugby league begin. all 12 club's were represented at the season launch today as were we by our rugby league correspondent dave woods. i spoke to him earlier about the changes ahead for the sport including fundamental changes to what we'll be watching. we have rule changes on the field

which are aim to make the game a lot quicker than it has been in the past. a lot of time wasting in matches and matches lasting for two hours. we have a shot clock which we are looking forward to so when a scrum is called, the teams have 35 seconds to back down and whoever does not do that, penalty against them. drop out underneath the sticks, a place for time wasting in the past but you have 30 seconds and if you don't get on with it, a penalty against you and there are only eight substitutions instead of ten so the big fellas will be blowing harder and hope is there will be more skilful players having more time to work. maybe replicating the model we have seen in the nrl with a faster game. changes also off the field when it comes to play—offs and relegation. yes, the top five will be the aim for the grand final this year, it has been the top eight recently but now this top five system, which sounds complicated, but is simpler than it first seems, and it rewards 18 for finishing first all the way down to fifth. if you finish first, you have a better

chance of getting to the grand final and the guarantee that a team will be relegated this year, whoever finishes bottom will be relegated. no player and no second chance: they are going down. let's get down to the nitty—gritty, who should we be looking at at the top end of the table as potential favourites?m will be one of the most open super league that we have seen in the last 24 league that we have seen in the last 2a years. there are seven clubs who have a genuine claim to being grand finalists come the end of the season but the usual runners and riders will be there st helens won the league last season and will be looking to go one better. warrant to have a good season, a great signing in blake austin —— warrington. leeds have a new coach and they will be better. wigan, the grand finalists and winning under old coach sean wayne, his last game, a new coach in adrian lam and he is hoping that they will be much more entertaining this year. he is looking for them to play in a much more entertaining style. the way that i played was a

bit of flamboyance in attack and i'm hoping to employ meant that as it dries upa hoping to employ meant that as it dries up a bit in the rugby side of things. we have a great leadership group and they understand the philosophies i have put on them already and whilst it has been a short off—season, we have certainly worked hard and had a good break. it has come around quickly, st helens in roundi has come around quickly, st helens in round 1 in seven days so here we go. adrian lam hopeful of a good season go. adrian lam hopeful of a good season with wigan but what about at the bottom? i'm a london broncos fan and i'm praying we can stay in the big time but should i be hopeful?m is going to be difficult. they surprised a lot by being promoted, winning that million pound game in toronto against the odds. they have not made a lot of big signings. a lot of great development among local london youngsters which is terrific but whether they are good enough or simply, time will tell but everybody is predicted they will be bottom but it does not bother their coach. those experiences we had last year, the boys will draw on them. we were

written off last year and we told the lads not to listen to any of the good or bad press. focus on what we can control at london broncos. they have a tight—knit group and they believe in themselves or last year andl believe in themselves or last year and i have to do it again. fingers crossed from my point of view that the broncos can stay up, they are optimistic. dave, thank you for joining us. that is it from sportsday. thank you forjoining us. all the latest news is on the bbc sport website but from me, it is good evening. there is a very different feeling to the weather on the way for the next couple of days. still a lot of cloud but it will feel much milder behind this weather front but is moving east across the uk overnight which they warm front and the mild air is
