cup on sunday. we will be hoping for plenty more drama in the quarterfinals which will take place on the 17th of march. chelsea, the current holders are still there. they knocked out the 1a time winners, arsenal in the tie of that round. the current women's super league leaders, manchester city are also there and durham gave us the upset of the day. they knocked out bristol city of the wsl to... that isa bristol city of the wsl to... that is a lot to look out for. we will be joined with the draw. is there any pairing you might like to see koscielny if you lets on that list, i would love to see majesties city, manchester united. we're hoping that's going to be a rivalry next seasonif that's going to be a rivalry next season if manchester united get promoted. that'll be a real test. what about durhammike wouldn't it be great for them get a tie? what a

result for them, they beat bristol city. i'll be interested to see who they get and they would want a home tie, there's a lot of really good team still in there and manchester, derby would be great. we will leave it for the moment. it just derby would be great. we will leave it for the moment. itjust about derby would be great. we will leave it for the moment. it just about ten minutes, we will be back here for the draw. looking forward to it. it was a crucial opening day for caster semenya at the court of arbitaration for sport. athletics governing body the iaaf is attempting to limit the levels of testosterone in her body, which they claim gives her an unfair advantage. lose, and it will have a huge impact notjust on her career but the sport as a whole. our sports correspondent richard conway reports from low—zan. you have to walk before you can run.
6:35 pm
a two—time 0lympic you have to walk before you can run. a two—time olympic champion caster semenya's journey has bought her from the track of the way to sport's highest court. she is challenging new regulations which are all quiet female athletes with naturally high testosterone levels to take medication to lower the hormone prior to competing. her lawyers claim that is discriminatory. 0bviously, claim that is discriminatory. obviously, the evidence will be evaluated and assessed at the end of the process this week. so, today is the process this week. so, today is the start. they argue hyper androgynous, a condition characterised by higher values of occu i’s characterised by higher values of occurs naturally. the... if unchecked, it is feared that women with higher levels of testosterone will dominate. we are here to protect the sanctity of fair and open competition. the imf introduced its first regulations in 2011 but in 2015 the rules were suspended when an indian sprinter
6:36 pm
successfully challenge them. now, armed with new research into the effects of testosterone, the iaaf say regulation to lower hormone levels is the only way to level the playing field. several sports bodies including the international olympic committee are watching this case with great interest. that's because they also are trying to determine how they will classify athletes with differences in sexual development. it's an issue that goes to the heart of gender and identity in elite sport. ajudgment of gender and identity in elite sport. a judgment in of gender and identity in elite sport. ajudgment in this of gender and identity in elite sport. a judgment in this case expected by late march and the outcome of how far reaching implications that will potentially go beyond caster semenya's competitive future. earlier i spoke to american researcher karin karkazis who's conducted extensive studies into the effects testosterone has on the body. she started by telling me the iaaf‘s assertion that excessive levels boosts the performance of female athletes simply isn't true. it does not bring the kind of
6:37 pm
performance advantage that they are claiming that it does. it's one factor among many that contribute to athleticism, it is not the decisive factor and so for example, it is impossible to say and it is untrue that people with the highest levels do better. there is a kind of dose response relationship, if you well that there is much more testosterone confers this much and performance benefits. there is far more complicated than theirs and the evidence does not support those kinds of statements. this raises many moral and ethical questions a suggestion that it is a violation of her human right. can you just outline the effects of suppressing testosterone and what impact that has on the body? yes. i have written about this with colleagues and one of the things that is new this time
6:38 pm
around as the un has stepped in to make a statement that they are very concerned that these kinds of regulations violate bodily autonomy and dignity and foster discrimination against women. so, lowering testosterone is not benign. it's not the same as lowering cholesterol where there is a perceived benefit to the individual when it is done, in fact, it can be quite grave short—term and long—term consequence of lowering testosterone in women, depending upon how it's done. so this is not a medical intervention that stand for the health benefits of the women, indeed they would be lowering it because they would be lowering it because the regulation requires it, not because a doctor says this is necessary or beneficial for the women's health. the kind of health effects are especially detrimental to elite athletes. they can include dehydration, mood changes, problems
6:39 pm
with metabolic regulation, fatigue, cramping and other kinds of issues, so cramping and other kinds of issues, so these are not benign interventions. to stamford bridge now, where chelsea face manchester united in the fifth round of the fa cup tonight where the last quarter final spot is up for grabs. katie gornall is there. katie a repeat of last year's final. i know, we've got two teams were such great pedigree and they are so used to playing each other in the latter stages of the fa cup. i'm delighted to say i'm going to buy a player who knows what it's like to left a trophy. a lot of excitement ahead of this one. i suppose the focus coming into the game has been on the two managers. their respective futures, they are in very different situations. who do you think needs the mentmore? it's a
6:40 pm
good question. they both knew the wins. you are probably looking at maurizio sarri to keep hisjob. chelsea have a history of getting rid of managers but 0le gunnar solskjaer is a caretaker role and he is auditioning for the role. it'll bea is auditioning for the role. it'll be a dream come true for him so i'm going to slightly sway it towards 0le gunnar solskjaer because he has an opportunity to conceal his dream and become a manchester united manager. you have played alongside him. he has had a fantastic start dramatically to his united career. i know there was a bit of a reality checkin know there was a bit of a reality check in the champions league against psg, check in the champions league against ps6, but ten wins in 11. did you think he had that in him? i've seen you think he had that in him? i've seen him go straight into reserves and manager reserves and i know everyone calls him the baby faced assassin, but there is a steely side to him at a winning mentality. things needed to be said, he spoke up things needed to be said, he spoke up in the dressing room, sol things needed to be said, he spoke up in the dressing room, so i have seen up in the dressing room, so i have seen the manager in the future without a doubt. and i said before, he's got an opportunity now. he's
6:41 pm
in... previous managers haven't done so in... previous managers haven't done so well since alex ferguson recite retired and he... he has done fantastic and if he keeps continuing in that form, i don't see any reason why he went to be named permanent manager. we are going to hear from yourformer manager. we are going to hear from your former team—mates are just a moment but let's hear from the chelsea camp and their assistant manager has been speaking about the importance of this game. i think it's a classic. a great game, not only for all countries, is a very interesting feature. plus, they are really is a really big moment, so it's a good challenge. it's actually what we need to do right now. what you don't panic because you've lost the game. you don't change anything because it doesn't change the mindset at all. we need to keep working on the way we want to play
6:42 pm
football, the way we approach the games, it'll always be in an attacking positive mind. we want to have... we don't want to impose ourselves on most games but there's quite a few other teams that have injuries, so you have to manage that. a big blow to 0le gunnar solskjaer. incomes... chelsea has a full—strength side. is that a bit of a statement perhaps that sanchez having come into the side that 0le gunnar solskjaer has... its a bit of a surprise. i thought it was a lot of build—up, he mentioned that in his press conference but ultimately he has gone for romelu lukaku and rushford. he feels it's the best. he's got them on the bench, that's
6:43 pm
what he's thinking. it was a fire power on the bench, a bit of experience on the bench without the options of the top players. maybe that's what he's got planned. about chelsea, the manager has come in with quite a bit of criticism with some damaging defeats in the league. accusations that he might be tactically inflexible, is that fairmike as i was going to be difficult. it's a hard way to get the team to play. to get that total football that he expects, is a long process , football that he expects, is a long process, so i think we do have to be patient, but patient is unavailable in football just now and i patient, but patient is unavailable in footballjust now and i said before, chelsea like to change their managers quickly. i'm sure he's adjusting to the premier league, i'm sure it different, people have this perception they can bring the steel to the premier league, is not as easy as that. i won't be surprise if he gets it right, because he's a
6:44 pm
very good manager. you are doing the draw it later after this match, do you think you'll be picking at manchester united 7 you think you'll be picking at manchester united ?|j you think you'll be picking at manchester united? i hope so. i hope so. chelsea are one of the best, united are going to bounce back, it's going to be a really tough game andi it's going to be a really tough game and i wouldn't be surprised if we have a long night of extra time and penalties. thanks very much. it kicks off at 7:30pm is live on the bbc. coming up in a second we'll have the quarter final draw for the women's fa cup — but first let's look back on the results from yesterday's fifth round ties.. here's holly hamilton. it had all the hallmarks of a cup final, perhaps because last year it was. there time chelsea had a title to defend and they didn't take long to defend and they didn't take long to make statements. an easy break the deadlock to claim the 13th goal of the season. arsenal up the
