formula 1 teams are always right up against it from the start testing. the car it is always a last—minutejob. williams have their calculations wrong this time and that caused some ructions within the team, they're not happy with the way it happened. we'll have to see whether that leads to any problems. as things stand the car was due to leave the factory tonight and fly to spain and be at the track by around 5:00 in the morning on wednesday and then hopefully out on the track sometime in the early afternoon. that means they will have lost two and half days of the first four days of testing with only one more four—day test after that. 25% plus of time lost on track is not great when everyone else has been around 100 laps today. they have got their work cut out and

at the world skiing championships in are, mikaela schiffrin claimed another victory in sweden on tuesday. the american won the parallel slalom competition in stockholm. schiffrin — who won gold in the slalom and super g events in are, as well as a bronze in the giant slalom — beat germany's christina geiger in the parallel final. schiffrin won it by 0.27 seconds. local favourite anna swenn—larsson won the race for third place. the men's race was won by ramon tsen—hoi—sern of switzerland. he finished out of the medals and down in fifth place in the slalom event at the world championships — although he did win a gold in the team competition. in this parallel slalom race he beat sweden's olympic champion andre myhrer in the final — with marco schwarz of austria third. you can get all the latest sports news at our website,

cloudy even though it will be mild. at the moment the system is pushing its way northward and eastwards, bringing with it somewhat weather. over the next few hours, we do have some rain around across scotland and northern england. a few spots into the midlands. largely dry in the south. some showers falling to northern ireland. you'll notice it is a mild start to wednesday. temperatures in the range of 7—11dc. wednesday, going to be a cloudy start for most of us with outbreaks of rain at times, particularly across northwestern areas. rain could be quite heavy at times for whales and northwest england and western scotland. there will be some sunshine coming out in the afternoon. the best chance of seeing that across east anglia and south east england and also for the northeast of scotland, slowly brightening up for northern ireland. a mild day with temperatures between 11—1lidc. through wednesday evening and overnight, most of the main will ease for a time, but there could be a few more spits and spots of rain and drizzle across our western coasts and heels. mostly mild night

but with clear skies towards the countryside. it gets a bit cooler here. thursday was a greater prospect of seeing at least a little bit more in the way of sunshine breaking through. best chance will be be east of high ground, to the midlands and eastern wales not doing too badly. eastern areas of scotland whereas many western areas are probably keeping cloud. notjust in the uk that has mild weather. across the south of spain as we head towards the weekend, we could see dust temperatures hit around 25 celsius. towards the end of the week, pressure builds a little bit further. that should punch a few more holes in the cloud. perhaps a little bit of mist and fog for some to start the day. for most of us, there should be more in the way of sunshine to go around. that will help boost temperatures, 1a, 15 degrees. they could see those highs go higher than that, given some decent breaks. mild weather is set to continue through the weekend.
