between india and pakistan since partition in 1947, leading to a series of bloody conflicts. yogita limaye reports. it's in this forested area of pakistan that india claims to have hit militant group jaish—e—mohammad — orjem. in an intelligence led operation in the early hours of today, india struck the biggest training camp of the jaish—e—mohammed in balakot. in this operation, a very large number of jaish—e—mohammad terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and groups ofjihadis who were being trained for fedayeen action, were eliminated. india says its fighter jets flew over the area and bombed the targets. on the ground, a local villager told the bbc what he witnessed. translation: around 3am, i heard a huge explosion and then we heard jets flying overhead.

we went to the place in the morning and saw a big crater. but pakistan says there was no damage and no casualties. its spokesman put out these photos, saying the jets were forced to drop their payloads hastily and scramble away. the country's foreign minister warned there would be retaliation. india has committed uncalled—for aggression, to which pakistan shall respond at the time and place of its choosing. india's actions come less than two weeks after this suicide bombing by jaish—e—mohammad, which killed 40 troops in indian—administered kashmir. this is an area disputed between pakistan and india that has, for decades, faced armed insurgency. and so india's been going after militants on territory it controls, too. just a few days ago, we witnessed this army raid. in the lane, three insurgents were hiding, indian forces

trying to flush them out. over the past few years, the army has conducted hundreds of such operations, and that's only intensified in recent weeks. the far—right founder of the english defence league, tommy robinson, has had his official facebook and instagram accounts shut down. facebook said his posts had used dehumanising language and violated its policies around organised hate. the activist, who had more than a million facebook followers, was banned from twitter and paypal last year. britain's second—biggest house builder — persimmon — has for the first time recorded profits of a billion pounds. the company faced controversy last year over the size of its then chief executive's pay package. persimmon is also under scrutiny because of its continued involvement in the help to buy scheme. but none of this affected the house builder's annual profits for last year — which jumped by 13%. a bbc scotland investigation has found the widespread sale of drugs over social media. lethal pills are making their way into rural communities, ordered over sites like facebook

and delivered through the post. and the drugs have changed ? tranquilisers are replacing heroin, with users saying they re tranquilisers are replacing heroin, they include one drug which was linked to 300 deaths in scotland in 2017. chris clements reports. log onto facebook and you can find an array of pills openly for sale, including tranquillisers like xanax and etizolam, not available in the uk. we contacted a guy on facebook we'd never met and asked him to send us xanax. within 25 minutes he agreed to send it. a day and a half later, it's in my hand. it's drugs like this that are killing people in scotland. we had the drugs tested. what we were told was xanax was actually etizolam, a controlled benzodiazepine, a sedative not legally available in this country and which killed 300 people in scotland in 2017. the problem is that there's a lot of respiratory depressants out there — like heroin and methadone, alcohol when taken to excess —

and they can all act together on the central nervous system and have devastating effects. and it's places like here in dumfries and galloway where those effects are being felt. lethal pills are bought online, sent through the post, and often taken in a cocktail with drugs like heroin or methadone. this local charity volunteer has seen the way drugs are being purchased change. back in the day, when i first started, you'd have to roam the streets for maybe a couple of hours before you found what you were looking for. you don't now. you go onto instagram, go onto facebook, go onto whatsapp, two minutes and i'm sorted. two minutes. and then maybe 20 minutes later, it's delivered to me. it's too simple now. john paul was killed by a combination of methadone and etizolam. he was found by his brother christopher, who is also a heavy pill user. do you want to stop?
