and other sanitary products to every woman and girl in hospital from next summer. and david beckham has been honored with a statue outside his former football club la galaxy. and coming up in half an hour — the story ofjfk's sister, eunice kennedy shriver — who confronted prejudice and ignorance — and used sport to change lives. the husband of shamima begum — the teenager from east london who travelled to syria to join the so—called islamic state group — has told the bbc he wants to take her and their newborn son to live in his native netherlands.

yago riedijk fought for is, and is currently in kurdish custody in north eastern syria. he's been speaking exclusively to our middle east correspondent quentin sommerville. she said it was a normal life, he describes attending the stoning of a woman who was being punished for what he called fornication. he talks about piles of bodies in the city. he says their daughter starved to death as a result of malnutrition because they were so hungry within the eis group. of course they eventually surrendered but only when the islamic state were losing. this was a match made in extremism, made by the islamic state. when i asked him about his marriage which was arranged by the terrorist group. shamima moved over when she was 15.
10:03 am
you met in raqqa, she was at the women's centre, you married her when she was 15 years old. how in any way is that acceptable? you were 23? you thought that was ok? to be honest, when my friend came and he said there was a girl who was interested in marriage, i wasn't really interested, because of her age. but, i accepted the offer anyway and we sat down. she seemed like, how do you say at? she seemed in a good state of mind. so it was acceptable for you to marry a 15—year—old
10:04 am
was her own choice, she was the one who asked to look for a partnerfor her than i was invited and, yeah. she was very young. and it may be would have been better for her to wait a bit but she didn't. she chose to get married and i chose to marry her. just as this will cause problems for him because he admitted he was a foot soldier and he fought in aleppo. he was wounded and eventually imprisoned by islamic state who suspected him of being a dutch spy. he was tortured whilst in prison and said he tried to escape but this was a man who joined, fought for them and was a die—hard supporterfor many fought for them and was a die—hard supporter for many years though he says he no longer supports them. the truth is that these people lost
10:05 am
control of their fate when they joined that extremist group. you mightfind it joined that extremist group. you might find it is difficult for him to return back home as it is for his wife. the demonstration flight of america s new astronaut capsule, spacex's dragon, is attempting to dock with the international space station. this is a docking that is just about 100 metres away also, so let's just listen and to a nasa control. right 110w listen and to a nasa control. right now you are seeing a listen and to a nasa control. right now you are seeing a view from the high definition camera. you can't see the dragon right now but it is up see the dragon right now but it is up there and when i get a little closer, you will not be able to mess it. it'll be only 20 metres away. so right now dragon is still retreating a little bit further away. it's getting to about 180 metres and once it hits, the crew will send a hold
10:06 am
command and then it will kind of let dragon set there for a little bit and you can see in this diagram, again with those approach corridors, crews carefully monitoring making sure the dragon are staying online with everything. once it gets to on ship team at 180 metres they're going to command that hold and will set therefore a little bit then it's over to the flight controllers here to command dragon to begin its approach towards the waypoint. that's that grey dot very close to the international space station you are seeing right there. just to give you an idea of the scale. you can see the thrusters firing up that's dragon right now. it's bright but the contrast, you can see every time one of those thrusters fires you can see its exhaust gases. it's a great view. it's great to get some views from the station site and hopefully
10:07 am
onceit from the station site and hopefully once it gets and close we can get some views from those cameras. it's a lwa ys some views from those cameras. it's always good to see the thrusters firing and space. dragon is a totally autonomous vehicle. those are all the dragon flight computers making minute adjustments whenever it feels it needs to stay pointed out in the right position. we got an update about 160 metres away from the station, still moving back again, slow and steady wins the race with everything today. we are trying to make sure everything works but continuing to back away, we are going out to 180 and then the crew should be sending a hold command to the spacecraft. it sounds like the rate of opening or how quickly dragon is flying away from the station and is only about 0.8 metres
10:08 am
a second. slow and steady wins the race. now we are in the sun, dragon is charging up its batteries with body mounted solar panels on the trunk. on your screen right now you can see a side by side view of two camera views, won on the left is from the international space station looking at the dragon and the when it comes back, the one on the right is from the dragon looking at the international space station. it's a
10:09 am
little ha rd to international space station. it's a little hard to make out here but you can see the nose cone hinged open. the nose, in an effort to make the spacecraft as usable as possible the nose cone is hinged and opens up. you can see it like a dome hanging off the top of dragon. in its open position. after being attached to the station, it will close that the nose cone on its way back down to earth. we just passed 170 metres away. a little under ten metres to go and that the crew is going to be sending ina go and that the crew is going to be sending in a command once more to dragon, they're going to command it to hold so it will camp out there at 180 metres and then right now in the meantime, the team in houston are getting ready to do a no go for the actual approach into waypoint number
10:10 am
two which will bring dragon even closer. copy. the hold command. the vehicle mode is hold. copy, hold. you just hide it. dragon is currently holding out at the command hold point at 180 metres away from the space station, hanging out, waiting for the command to approach. also at this time we need the hatch closed and you will need to bring up space to ground one...
10:11 am
with that hold being successful, it looks like we are about 15 minutes ahead of the timeline, still. we we re ahead of the timeline, still. we were expecting that initial contact and capture to be about 3am pacific time. so now it could be 2:115am pacific. we will keep an eye on the timeline but moving very smoothly through all of the operations today. if you are just nowjoining through all of the operations today. if you arejust nowjoining us, crew dragon, writes that, only 180 metres away from the international space station getting a great resume and 110w. station getting a great resume and now. pretty soon it'll be zooming itself towards the international space station. it's been a smooth day so far, it moved into waypoint a zero inside of the approach, it was only 400 metres away then and it flew u p only 400 metres away then and it flew up and around and to the front
10:12 am
portion of the station looking right down the barrel of the dot adapter where it now sits. we went past waypoint one which is 150 metres away, we had a successful retreat demonstration. it retreated to 180 metres where it now sits thanks to a successful hold command and demonstration from the crew. so, there we are. we are going to leave that now because that docking is clearly going to be happening in the next few minutes as the dragon launch by spacex with the international space station. we will be back there in space. meanwhile, back here on earth,... eight brexit supporting lawyers — seven of them also mps — have set out what concessions are necessary if they are to back a brexit deal. the attorney general, geoffrey cox, has been trying to reach a deal with leaders in brussels in an attempt to secure a guarantee the northern irish backstop will be temporary. according to the sunday times, the group would like to see a legally binding clause that would override the current wording on the backstop,

and they want a route out if trade talks with the eu fail. our political correspondent nick eardley has been giving me more details.... theresa may has been running down the clock negotiations. last week the clock negotiations. last week the party said it would back a second vote in order to try to prevent either a no deal or the prime minister puzzlement deal. he has speaking to sky news. we have been forced into the situation. for two years, been forced into the situation. for two yea rs, theresa been forced into the situation. for two years, theresa may has delayed and delayed and delayed. running down the clock, she has now presented us with a deal which can't be supported, because it will have such dire consequences for my constituents and for the jobs that people write their way across the country. we can't support that. john mcdonnell was also asked about the anti—semitism row which has engulfed the labour party. he accepted the party has an issue,
10:14 am
but denied that the party was institutionally anti—semitic. these allegations that the labour party is insufficiently anti—semitic, i reject completely, but clearly we do and we have accepted that. it might be, what the figures we have, you interviewed someone figures we have, you interviewed someone who took you through the figures last week. at 0.1% of our membership that seems to have been involved in some form of anti—semitism. tiny number but still anti—semitism. tiny number but still a problem. i don't want one anti—semite in our party. the headlines on bbc news: the man who married british is militant shamima begum tells the bbc he wants to return to the netherlands with her and their newborn baby. 8 lawyers who back brexit — seven of them conservative or democratic unionist mps — set out the concessions they require from the eu to support the deal.

rescuers hope to resume their search for a british climber — missing on one of the world's highest mountains for nearly a week. sport and for a full round up, from the bbc sport centre, here's richard. england have given themselves a great chance of winning the she believes cup after a thrilling draw against the us. winner takes all match against japan on tuesday. the lionesses scored two excellent goals through manchester city pair. joe corrie is there for us. everything and nothing if you're part of the us international team who played this game with a female idols on the back of their shirts. half an hour and at the real megan was writing her name
10:16 am
of the scoresheet leaving the england goalkeeper rooted to the spot. what an equaliser, and really well played. well worked, that! england were finding theirfeet, and nikita parris was finding her range. this put the lionesses ahead. what a very good goal, and in the lead against the world champions. but the problem with the champions is you can never write them off, and while scrappy, they were eventually able to find a way through england's defence to deny them the win. we had fantastic performances out there on the pitch today. we had players that played with a smile on their face, and like i say, the result is irrelevant to us on the pitch. not irrelevant to the competition, though. well, this result means that the lionesses can now fly off to sunny florida in the knowledge that a win againstjapan will seal the trophy. perhaps it really is their time to believe.
10:17 am
jo currie, bbc news, nashville. manchester city returned to the top of the premier league after beating bournemouth 1—0. riyad mahrez scored the only goal of the game, enough to seal victory for city, who put pressure back on liverpool, with nine matches to play. liverpool play rivals everton in the merseyside derby later today... at old trafford, manchester united and southampton had their own competion for goal of the month. first, yan valery thundered southampton into the lead with an absolute cracker. andreas pereira arguably went one better to equalise for united in the second half, and romelu lukaku won it with this finish two minutes from time. united winning 3—2 and moving above arsenal and into the top four. neil lennon's winning start as celtic manager continued against his former club hibernian in the quarterfinals of the scottish cup. after a goal—less first half,

james forrest set the game alight with this brilliant solo goal from outside the box. the draw for the semi—finals takes place tomorrow. england captain eoin morgan says his side need to be better the last five wickets falling for just two runs in reply, chris gayle smashed a smashing 77 as the windies reach the target and less than 13 overs. roger federer has set another landmark in his amazing career by winning his 100th title on the atp tour, only the second man in history to do that. the 20 time grand slam winner beat stefanos tsitsipas in straight sets at the dubai tennis championships. jimmy connors, who won 109 titles, is the only other male player to reach the milestone. so does federer now have his sights set on passing that record?
10:19 am
people are probably going to say, now you have to reach jimmy connors's record, you know. but i'm not that kind of a guy even though people might think i am. i draw inspiration from it, but i'm not here to shatter every record out there. and he's a special player, and a special legend in the sport, and if he keeps that record, it's all good. i'm just happy to have reached 100 in my career. that's all the sport for now. now on bbc news, here's ben with the papers. it's very close, these are pictures from mission control. we can listen into a little bit of the commentary is by just to into a little bit of the commentary is byjust to explain what is going
10:20 am
on. i think the dragon vehicle is now very close, just a few metres away in fact from the crucial docking mission. radioing down, as she and... dragon once it gets to a point to is going to stop, the teams in the meanwhile going to be conducting a go, no—go for docking. at the final go— no—go. as then it's time for dragon to actually talk to the space station. dragon is going to make that initial soft contact using the adapter was microsoft ca ptu re using the adapter was microsoft capture which is going to retract to bring dragon in for the hard capture sequence bring dragon in for the hard capture sequence and that's where a series of hooks actually close in to really tightly secured dragon to the international dock adapter. as a further precaution, dragon's soft ca ptu re further precaution, dragon's soft capture system has a set of rotary

spring companies just to lessen the force of that contact between the spacecraft and the international space station. one interesting note, unlike so use docking is where the s0 use unlike so use docking is where the so use spacecraft go into free drives so all that goes offjust to lessen any of that force between the spacecraft docking mechanism, it's not going to happen for dragon. both it and the space station is robust enough. it's a much, a preferred means of controlling the station for the flight control team is just so they can continue to keep the station in its right attitude, so that'll be a notable departure from what we see force so use docking is. the international docking system specification which was then used by spacex and other visiting vehicles to develop that docking systems
10:22 am
aboard the spacecraft. going to bring in jonathan amos. aboard the spacecraft. going to bring injonathan amos. why is this important? its importance because it's the opportunity for the united states to once again be able to launch its own astronauts from its own soil, from america itself, because until now, as if at the commentators say they have been using soyuz vehicles. everyone's had to go up ina using soyuz vehicles. everyone's had to go up in a soyuz. in america likes to think of itself as the leader in space. it wants autonomy s0 leader in space. it wants autonomy so it's bringing forward new vehicles. this one from the spacex company but there is another one about a month away from launching which is coming from boeing and that is called star line up. it's a conical affair, capsule that will hold about four or five people depending on how many you want to put in there but once they get through these rehearsals, then they
10:23 am
will be approved to carry astronauts and we should see that happening, may be as early asjuly. and we should see that happening, may be as early as july. and so, this is important for spacex itself and for its founder, elon musk? what we are watching now is a bit of a step up from spacex. they've had this cargo capsule going to the space station for a number of years now. also called the dragon but it was designed to carry people. this version that you are watching, now has a life support systems and. the big key difference between the two types of vehicle is that the cargo vessel was always grappled by robotic arm and pulled into a birthing position. what you are seeing here is a sophisticated system seeing here is a sophisticated syste m o n seeing here is a sophisticated system on board the crewe version of the dragon do it itself. so at the moment, a couple of astronauts are looking out of the big bay wednesday of the space station, keeping an eye that the dragon is doing what it is
10:24 am
supposed to do, but also being able to intervene if they need to. we've already seen them command the dragon to go away, a short distance, it tells you it's understanding the commands that it is receiving and then they will have this go — no—go which will involve everyone. and then the dragon will be told, go for it. go and stop. right,. thank you. we will be back with you in a few minutes when that docking actually happens. we understand, it may be ten or 15 minutes away. thank you very much. police in greater manchester say a seventeen—year—old boy died in hospital last night after being stabbed in the village of hale barns near altrincham. two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of his murder. the death follows the killing of a 17 —year—old girl who was stabbed on friday in a park in romford in east london. our correspondent charlotte gallagher is there. just bring us right up to date with

10:26 am
ina this. people around here seem to be in a state of disbelief. you would usually expect this park on sunday to be full of people walking their dogs or taking their children out but people are just at the moment, driving past very slowly, trying to work out what has happened. i went toa work out what has happened. i went to a cafe dilemma cafe up the road and people couldn't believe what this had to limit what happened. this is a very residential area. people imagine these things happening in vienna city but not someone happening in vienna city but not someone like yer. she is 18th person to be murdered in london. and the fifth teenager to die. police said yesterday they are appealing for anyone with any information at all, they said a knife taken off the street could save a life. thank you. the cbi says uncertainty over brexit is partly to blame for growth in private companies "stagnating" in recent months. the business group has surveyed 650 firms. it's urging politicians to agree a deal. here 5 our business correspondent rob young.

britain's economy has been slowing down. in 2018, the uk grew at its lowest rate in six years. in december alone, the economy actually got smaller. the confederation of british industry has been taking the temperature of companies. it says economic activity was broadly unchanged in the three months to february. that suggests uk plc didn't shrink over the three—month period, but it didn't grow either. the cbi says this is its survey‘s worst reading since 2013. it partly blames the ongoing uncertainty over brexit. the high street has continued to take a hit as shoppers remain cautious about spending. factory orders went up, but data suggests a lot of that is down to businesses stockpiling. despite the weak headline numbers, the nation's jobs boom has continued. data a few weeks ago showed wages had been rising at the fastest rate since the financial crisis, and the employment rate remained
