hello there, it has been a cool and wet day, the rain i'm sure welcome by some gardeners and farmers given how dry the weather has been recently. the rain system is this low pressure at the south—west. pressure north northwards followed by shallow clouds. those showers have been widespread across southern parts of england. they have also produced a number of thunderstorms with a fairly large sized hail, pea sized hail there heavier in the day in london. looking at the weather picture through the rest of the night, we are going to see our rain band stop moving northwards and slowly sink a bit further southwards. all in all, the rain doesn't let up across north—east england. a particularly soggy night here. clear skies to the north of scotla nd here. clear skies to the north of scotland where we will have patches of frost. otherwise, it is not especially cold through the night. thursday, a cloudy start to the day
