as you say, those talk sister undergoing. i understand that despite the 5pm deadline passing, the efl are all well aware of keeping us abreast of any and all about the micro—developments. talks are at quite a delicate stage, i understand that some hurdles have been overcome, some remain. five hours ago, bolton released a statement confirming those songs are ongoing, saying they would release a statement later in the evening. but from my understanding, i think there isa from my understanding, i think there is a feeling of cautious optimism around these talks, is that they could be reaching a more positive conclusion. and there is hope that bolton won't go the same way as perry did this evening. but of course i see this optimism, bolton fa ns course i see this optimism, bolton fans have been here before. only for it to collapse on saturday,

it has been such a tough season for bolton, the club has been in administration since may, their manager resigned recently, they've had to field news new players to fill the majority of their fixtures. so far this season, they've had to suspend a fixture over welfare concerns for those player plus my concerns, and they've lost games 5-0. concerns, and they've lost games 5—0. just a few years ago, as recently as 2012, this was a premier league club with star players in those premier league years, like jj kocher. it has been a roller coaster ride for these bolton wanderers fans, although now tonight they still cling to some hope that there clu b to still cling to some hope that there club to be pulled back from the brink. thank you for the update. despite financial worries in football, the games must go on and there were eight premier league teams in action in the second round of the efl cup.

west ham beat league two club newport county — but it took them 43 minutes before jack wilshire got the first, that's his debut goal for west ham after joining from arsenal last year. pablo fornals scored the second from close range. it finished 2—0 in south wales. a few upsets in some of the other games this evening — league two side colchester united put crystal palace out at selhurst park after the premier league side could only manage a goaless draw, then lost 5—4 on penalties. and league two's crawley town scored early in the first half to beat norwich 1—0. glenn murray got a late winner to save premier league brighton's blushes against league one bristol rovers. aston villa put six past crewe alexandra who managed to score one themselves. elsewhere, wins for sheffield united, watford and southampton. and it looks like the summer is well and truly over in cleethorpes. grimsby town's match against macclesfield had to be abandoned because of these terrible conditions. the league two opponents were 0—0 at half time when torrential rain battered blundell park.
