hello. most of us have seen some rain so far today, as the weather system moves east across the uk. it's behind that, we're getting this on returning for the rest of the weekend, but it is cooler. now, the last of that weather system with cloud, a bit of patchy rain pulls away from east anglia, and the south—east of england, as we go through the evening. the heavy rain in northern scotland easing to showers, but quite a lot of clear weather around overnight, and temperatures dipping away quite widely into single figures, as we start the day tomorrow and as we start september. showers tomorrow from the word go in a northern and western scotland. but fine, sunny weather across many other parts of the uk, but the showers will move further south and east during the day. some of them likely to be heavy and possibly thundery, whereas much of south wales and southern england will avoid the showers and stay dry. there will be a fair amount of sunshine around, around any showers, so it's a cooler wind direction from the west—northwest. and while some mayjust creep above 20 celsius, most of us won't. that's your latest forecast.

what actually happened 7 what actually happened? we haven't seen any replays, for that, i am pretty grateful. it was a very high—speed accidents, as you said on the second lap, it was the race that was taking place this afternoon. the accident or incident involved three drivers. so he was one of them. and one man well was another. and juliano as well. obviously medical staff and emergency services attended the scene, and one of the drivers was taken away in the helicopter that is used for medical emergencies. unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away at 1835 local time. lacey was checked out at the medical centre and passed as ok, but i think it's a big shock that he was a young promising driver in the academy, and we haven't had a serious incident

really since 2014, when he was involved in a big crash injapan. so i think there was a feeling of shock that something like this can still happen with the amount of safety that's been put into these cars. i think an accident like this, that there is just no avoiding a horrific outcome. 160 mph, apparently the driver one man well who went into him after hubert had gone into the barrier. that american driver, he is set to be in a stable condition. now hubert was a very promising driver. he was gp three champion, trying to break into formula 1 next year. yeah, ithink break into formula 1 next year. yeah, i think whether he would have got to formula 1 next year or not, i don't know. but he was definitely a star of the future. he had been picked out as a protege to come through that. his idle, he wanted to be the next frenchman to really seriously challenge for a title in formula 1. and, you know, it's been

showers have been following behind it. in the northwesterly breeze, still quite a brisk wind at the moment, drawing down cooler and fresher air across the country. as we had outside, this was the scene a little earlier on in oakley, where it has been quite windy, but at least we have had some sunshine here. sunshine and warmth and southeastern parts of england, the mid—20s before this cloud moved in him and gave a burst of rain. you can see that on the earlier radar picture. not a great deal of rain heading southeast words, that is moving away, the more persistent rain is heading up towards the northern aisles briefly, but it is the showers that will continue overnight into northern ireland, particularly into scotland and 1—2 coming into northern parts of england and wales, the south clear skies. we have got that northwesterly air, it is colder, temperatures will be lower than they we re temperatures will be lower than they were last night. typically 7—9 in towns and cities, lower than that in some rural areas. chilly start to sunday, plenty of sunshine for england and wales, some sunshine between the showers across northern

ireland and scotland. quite a few showers coming in here. the heavy thundery ones pushing into eastern areas during the day, into north east england down towards the welsh as well. very few showers in the midlands for wales. it should be dry across southern parts of the month, temperatures may be 20 degrees. as you had for the north with those showers, 15—17 is more likely. so a chilly day. the cloud coming into northern ireland later will bring some showers, and push them eastwards. the heavy ones clearing away from eastern scotland. and at the northeast of england. and chilly night to come as we head into the new week, particularly around aberdeen share, where temperatures could be 2—3d. as we move into monday, we could start to change our wind direction instead of the northwesterly, we get something in from the atlantic west to south—westerly around the top of that area of high pressure. whether front in the north will bring some rain. generally dry start for england and wales with some sunshine, but even here, i think it will tend to cloud over. most of the ring for northern ireland setting and quite widely, and scotland has some heavy rain over the hills of western scotland. 15 degrees in
