referred to as a veteran of the england cricket team. but he's got a long way to go to match the career of cecil wright. after 60 yea rs the formerjamaica paceman, is retiring from the sport at the age of 85. wright's taken 7,000 wickets in his playing days and faced some of the greats of the game. stuart pollit went to his last match in uppermill after 60 years of playing cricket around the north west of england. taking to the field for the final time. after seven decades playing around the north west, cecil wright is bowing out. how has your bowling changed over the years? i cannot go up there now. i'm a bit down. i cannot quite jump as much. cec arrived in england in 1959 to play as a professional alongside some of the greats. but unlike those superstars, he ended up staying and taking more than 4000 wickets. who is the most famous batsman you got out? i think gary was one

because the european cup starts monday week and with his title to defend less than a year from now in tokyo, he cannot afford to miss anything. as you know, it is full on, the dance training, but i am still getting in my table tennis every day so i look to try to take sweden and to win the europeans and bring another medal back to great britain is my dream. you have to bring it back into the strictly studio, don't you? absolutely. will has his gran to thank for when he got started at seven. i was born with a condition that affects all my limbs. at seven years old, i had blood cancer. i was in hospitalfor two years. my grandmother bought me a mini—table tennis table and i began playing on that, and it was the only sport i beat my brother at. one of the keys behind his success has been his club.
