now the former soviet leader mikhail gorbachev has won the current tensions between russia and the west are endangering the world. speaking to the bbc, interview to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the berlin wall, mr gorbachev called for all countries to declare that nuclear weapons should be destroyed. he was speaking to our moscow correspondent steve rosenberg. these days, it's rare to see mikhail gorbachev in front of a camera. aged 88, he avoids the limelight.
