tha's the call from real‘s manager to the fans, after the welshman‘s controversial flag stunt. we start with the news that wada, the world anti—doping agency, will recommend that russia be banned from all sports for four years. the wada committee investigating russia's violation of doping rules, have concluded the country should be punished for an alleged manipulaton of a database of test results. if the wada board agrees with the recommendations, then clean russian athletes could be forced to compete in neutral uniforms at next year's tokyo olympics, just as they did in rio. but the sanctions could affect other sports too. here are the main recommendations made by the wada committee: a four—year ban from all sports signed up to the wada code, which includes football. that covers the olympic games. russia will not be able to host any major events in that four—year period, which could have a significant

effect on euro 2020, when st petersubrg is due to host four games. and they won't be allowed to bid for any either, and that means there'd be a knock on effect for a period longer than the four years itself. wada's executive committee will make a decision on the punishment on december the ninth, and it would be subject to appeal. last week an independent panel concluded russia had doctored data ina bid concluded russia had doctored data in a bid to cover a positive drug test. it was linked to the huge scandal discovered in 2015 in which the country was accused of a state—sponsored, systematic doping conspiracy. the suspension was lifted in september last year but it is now being asked to implement a four year ban for this latest violation. the flag could be barred from events, including the olympics and the world cup. a decision is expected on december nine but, if

the recommendation is accepted, it is likely to be challenged at the court of arbitration for sport. the england and wales cricket board is investigating claims that england'sjofra archer was racially abused by a fan during the first test against new zealand, in mount manganui. archer described it as "one guy" and says it happened as he walked off the field after being dismissed on the final day. new zealand cricket says they'll be apologising to the player, but haven't yet identified the fan in question. there was an incident asjofra left the field yesterday at the ground, when he was dismissed. there was something said from the crowd, i think from the scoreboard sort of area of the ground, which was offensive. jofra reported this to the steward immediately as he came off, and also reported it to our security when he got back into the change rooms but, um, sense was it was a racist, um, it was racist abuse and it was really unfortunate. he was obviously emotional, it hurts.
1:48 am
we are here as well to say we fully supportjof, obviously. there is no place for racism in the game, in any game. jof is part of our team. whatever the abuse, we'd be absolutely right behind him and he is a very important part of ourteam. real madrid's head coach zinedine zidane has asked the club's fans not to boo gareth bale during tuesday's champions league game against paris saint—germain. the wales international received a mixed reception when he came on as a substitute, during saturday's 3—1win against real sociedad. he'd missed madrid's previous six games in all competitions, and last week, on international duty, he was with the welsh players, who paraded a flag with the words, "wales, golf, madrid — in that order". it didn't go down well in spain, but zidane wants the booing to stop. sedan already asked the fans to
1:49 am
support gareth and if they did not listen to the coach. he has insisted 110w listen to the coach. he has insisted now but i think the picture with the flag was really not a smart move and this was a relationship between the fa ns this was a relationship between the fans and gareth bale that has plenty of initials. particularly in the last year and that this was probably the tipping point and it would be a miracle if gareth bale wins the hearts of the fans of real madrid again. the managerial merry—go—round in the english premier league could soon be in full swing. with mauricio pochettino sacked at spurs, there's now pressure on everton‘s marco silva, west ham boss, manuel pellegrini, and unai emery, at arsenal. fans at the emirates have now released a statement, calling for urgent action, following their lacklustre draw with southampton. patrick gearey reports. crowd booing this is not the sound ofa this is not the sound of a club in harmony. only two minutes earlier, arsenal had snatched a late

equaliser against southampton but such was the performance, the mood at the emirates was not one of celebration. it is not a good result for us. obviously, we played at home so we obviously, we played at home so we have to win games at home. i understand now the supporters they can be frustrated and they can be angry with us. the grumbling has been slowly rising. arsenal did not make the champions league last season and there is concern they will miss out again this time. on monday, i supporters group issued a statement critical of arsenal's american owner, stan kroenke. they said... fans certainly see the kroenkes as foreign owners who have come over here and look like making an awful lot of money and they have made an awful lot of money but they have not invested that money back

into the club and they wa nt to into the club and they want to see kroenke more involved on the day—to—day basis, proving they care about the club. the owners will be harder to dislodge than the manager. he has publicly fallen out with the arsenalfans he has publicly fallen out with the arsenal fans and then been replaced only adding to a sense of confusion among some supporters. 15 months after taking over, what is arsenal? i thought he has had enough chances to imprint something on this club but is not imprinted anything. i do not know his philosophy, tactics. i feel like that show on the pitch, i don't even think the players know what to do. arsenal is a club do not rush into anything, it has been 20 yet sent sacking a manager mid—season but this one may be

reaching the. —— and there was one game played in the english premier league on monday. aston villa beat newcastle united 2—0, to move further clear of the bottom three. they're now up to 15th after their fourth win of the season, one point behind newcastle. arlo white reports. the captain displayed his importance to aston villa on his return from injury but it was the left foot of connor which supported all three points. first he curled a shot at the near post, after a neat freekick exchange and four minutes later, his delicious delivery from the left was plugged into the roof of the net by not and unmarked player. 13 months after being sacked by villa, steve bruce left the city with the front three who scored just one goal in the off—season. it does not get any easierfor the magpies, the off—season. it does not get any easier for the magpies, they travel to manchester on the weekend.

i think we have competed in every game and we will fill we deserve more points we have at the moment but our main point was to be competitive in each game. we have a group of players who i firmly believe in their performance and they are making me make them better which is good. in italy, there was plenty of drama in the game between lecce and cagliari, which was postponed from sunday. there were four goals, including two penalties, and three red cards. cagliari were leading 2—0, through a first—half penalty from joao pedro, and this goal from radja nainggolan mid—way through the second—half. and then came four minutes of madness. first, fabrizio cacciatore was sent off for deliberate handball and the visitors were reduced to 10 men. then gianluca lapadula put away the resultant penalty, to pull a goal back for lecce. before he got involved in a scuffle with cagliari keeper, robin olsen, which resulted in both of them being sent off. in stoppage—time, marco calderoni rescued a point for the 10 men of lecce against the 9 men of cagliari
1:54 am
2—2 the final score. cagliari move up to 4th. lecce remain lith—from—bottom. spal and genoa both missed the chance to overtake lecce by drawing 1—1 in the night's other game. spal were awarded a penalty early in the second—half, which andrea petagna converted, to put the home side in front. but two minutes later, stefano sturaro equalised for genoa, to salvage a point for the visitors. both teams remain in the bottom three. you can get all the latest sports news at our website — that's bbc.com/sport. but from me and the rest of the sport today team, goodbye.

hello there, there's a big change in the weather for all of us by the end of this week, but before then we have got more mild weather, more cloud, and some further rain and perhaps in some parts, strong to galeforce winds, with the worst of the weather through tuesday and wednesday expected across england and wales. the reason for the wet and windy weather, another area of low pressure, this one contains remnants of ex—tropical storm sebastian and that is going to stick around for the next couple of days. ahead of that, we have still got mild conditions by the morning, a lot of cloud, some further pockets of rain and drizzle but the wetter weather and windier weather will be toward the south—west, where the winds are up picking up in the morning. gusts of 40mph or perhaps 50mph. that will push that rain band northward throughout the day, could be quite heavy at times, push its way northwards across england and wales into northern ireland and the central belt of scotland, some patchy rain and stronger winds
1:56 am
for northern scotland. behind the rain band may get some sunshine but watch out for heavy downpours, particularly toward the south—east of england later on in the afternoon. but with this tropical air heading away, it could be quite warm in the sunshine, 1a or 15 degrees perhaps. but some wet weather for the south—east of england, east anglia into the evening, and our area of low pressure comes back towards the south—west of england and wales, picks up the rain here which will be quite heavy, and also strengthens the wind, and we will see gales pushing through the english channel coastal areas into the channel islands too. so, more rain for england and wales, could be heavy at times, and we are still going to have some wet weather across the far north of scotland. but mainly it's south—east scotland and north—east england that will see the rain turning heavier and more persistent as we head into the afternoon bringing the threat of more localised flooding. temperatures widely in double figures. as we head into thursday, we start to see some changes because the low pressure is going to take a lot of that rain away into the near continent. our wind direction is going to change from that milder south—westerly to a much colder northerly wind, and that will drag down the cold air across the whole of the country.
1:57 am
we have still got some rain to clear away on thursday and there is more of it now across england and wales, a little bit slower but we should see it brightening up for northern ireland and particularly across scotland with some sunshine knocking those temperatures down in that northerly wind, still some mild air across the south but only 11 or 12 degrees. as we move into friday morning, there may well be a frost around, perhaps all the way down toward the midlands as well. that's a significant change. we are also looking at drier weather to arrive on friday, that is going to mean more sunshine for a change, but those images will be lower, typically 5—8 celsius.
