and paralympic games? hello, and welcome along to the programme. the teams news is in for england, scotland, ireland, and wales ahead of the six nations this weekend. let's start with the calcutta cup match between england and scotland which is always a real battle on the six nations stage. england have won on just three of their last seven trips to murrayfield, and lost their most recent visit in 2018. to run us who's in and who's out for england is our rugby eddiejones has eddie jones has made eddiejones has made five changes following their opening defeat to france. to run us who's in and who's out for england is our rugby reporter, sara 0rchard. there was always going to be some sort of reaction from eddie

jones after that disappointing loss to france last week. perhaps the standout change comes from the gloucestershire scrum. he gets ahead of beenjones. jones gloucestershire scrum. he gets ahead of been jones. jones has gloucestershire scrum. he gets ahead of beenjones. jones has talked about hines, describing him as having control, good kicking, and a calm head. he's also selected the returning macro, also in the forwards, we see george kruis and louis ludlum getting to start, boast in the backs we seejonathanjoseph where 13 continues to recover from his injury. the last time england travelled to murray field in the six nations, you might remember the scuffle in the tunnel before kick—off. eddiejones scuffle in the tunnel before kick—off. eddie jones has scuffle in the tunnel before kick—off. eddiejones has said this hasn't been discussed in camp. however he does want his players to have those calm heads as they travel north. we know we need fire in their belly. that's the sort of game we know will come at us, we know they will try to strike, and they tried

that in the tunnel two years ago. so it could be more of the same this year, or something different. it could be more of the same this year, orsomething different. i think was 15 years ago, we did a captain's think was 15 years ago, we did a ca ptain‘s run think was 15 years ago, we did a captain's run on the pitch that was 70 metres wide, then we came up on game day and it was 60 metres wide. this is a consistent behaviour we see from scotland, so we just have to be ready for anything. scotland are a good team. they've gotten better and better over the last few years. and you can see that by the way they're playing and moving the ball, and by how aggressive they are, as well. so we have to be ready for that and not be shocked by it. and try and impose ourselves on them. the exeter hooker lou cowan has actually left the england camp earlier today, that's because his wife has gone into labour. now whilst tom dunn has been called onto the bench, he could win his first cap, as could the saracens captain
6:36 pm
ben earl. there's been forwards and backwards on the bench, indicating a slightly attritional nature that england is expecting when they travel to scotland. but also, that could be an indication of the weather report for edinburgh on saturday. at the moment, it is strong winds and driving rain. well, whatever the weather, gregor townsend's scotland side will be hungry to get their first victory of this years six nations campaign, following their defeat to ireland as andy burke explains. despite defeat in dublin over the weekend, gregor townsend was pleased with many aspects of the scotland performance, and that is reflected in his team selection for this saturday's meeting with england. just one change to the starting 15, bradbury comes in at number eight to replace nick hanging. as always with this match, there's a lot of chat about age—old rivalries, even hatred between the teams. but gregor townsend very much wants to not buy
6:37 pm
into the hype. i read those comments over the week, and into the hype. i read those comments overthe week, and i into the hype. i read those comments over the week, and i thought it was excellent, excellent, they analyse out excellent, excellent, they analyse our game quite well made some really good assertions around what they do as players. and he knows that it's going to be a fight around the breakdown run contact. at times it will be hugely physical. but no, he'sa will be hugely physical. but no, he's a brilliant coach. scotland's six nations campaign up to this point has been largely overshadowed around the situation around ben russell, after breaching the team's disciplinary protocols, and he won't be involved with england this year either. this was the update on the situation today from gregor townsend. he let us know we would not be making any changes to our squad, and i will reassess things after this weekend. as for wales, wayne pivac has made just the one change ahead
6:38 pm
of their match with ireland. centre nick tompkins has been given his first start for wales, after impressing as a replacement on his debut against italy, scoring this superb try, too. ireland's conor murray has once again been given the nod for saturday's clash with wales. scrum—half murray was previously one of the first names on the teamsheet for his country, but his place has come under threat due to a dip in form and the standout performances ofjohn cooney. let's have a look at some of the other stories grabbing the headlines... premier league clubs have voted to move the closing date of the summer transfer window — to bring it back in line with the rest of europe. for the past two seasons, it's closed the day before the season began. this year, the date will be on 1 september at 5pm. we reflected on what was in the best interest of the leak, and we felt it was the democrat in the best

interest of the league to extend the window until august. great britain's women have lost to china in their opening 0lympic basketball qualifier. they next face south korea on saturday and then a very strong spain team. the top three teams from the group of four will reach tokyo 2020. lewis hamilton has opened up on social media about his relationship with his father. he and his dad fell out a number of years ago, but it seems their relationship is on the mend. the formula one world champion posted, "you can't choose your family, but you can make it work with them no matter your differences." let's turn our focus to heading in football as today, the fa has announced that it will launch new coaching guidelines that will restrict the amount of heading for under—18s in training. this is yet to be finalised, and won't ban heading entirely, but the brain injury association, headway are seeing this as a step in the right direction. this follows research last year that found professional footballers

were three—and—a—half times more likely to die of degenerative brain disease than the average person. well, i'm joined now with steve eyre, the former manchester city youth coach. what's been your reaction to this news? a little bit disappointed, but not something i wouldn't challenge from a medical point of view from the weight forward. the world game, really, the game we all love. it's a lwa ys really, the game we all love. it's always a benefit to like a big part for the english culture, the world cup in the summer, england scored 12 goals, five of which were headers. they had 27 headers, the nearest risk croatia with 17. so i think it is obviously a big part of the game and development, but not something i will challenge medically and something democrat not something i'd like to seek taken out of the game completely. during your 21 years at city's academy, where you've coached the likes of phil foden, how much of a focus was there on children heading in training? you say phil foden, a mega— talent,
6:41 pm
but the two names i think of would be michael richards, who recently retired, and their main aspect was heading the football. heading the football was the best thing, and it got them careers. so that said, the sylla bus got them careers. so that said, the syllabus which we set, i don't think that heading will ever be the top of it, it might be a two hour class you've got with a group that you have to develop. i think the skills, the street skill in the passing will a lwa ys the street skill in the passing will always be at the forefront. heading isa always be at the forefront. heading is a part of the game, and crucial in terms of winning football matches. so i'm happy to see that it might be tapered with, but obviously we don't want to get extinct. the usa banned heading for under—11s back in 2015, scotland are set to ban heading for under—12s, why do you think the fa have increased these restrictions to under—18s? i think the game organically is leaning towards a more technical game now, but obviously the game is
6:42 pm
spent, from adults to men. i think the game is pristine, it's not played as much as it used to be, you don't see goalkeepers volleying out with their hands out to their heads. set plays like corners are often kept on the floor short. so i do think organically it is coming into line in terms of less heading. but i do believe obviously that the age group between 18 and adult is where the game is obviously basically letting them kick the ball higher and harder, and people are more at risk. unfortunately that's all the time we have four, steve, thank you for your time. how will the coronavirus impact upcoming sport events? like the tokyo and paralympics later this year? well, the organisers have said they are continung to monitor the spread of the virus as it edges closer and closer to japan. with this years chinese grand prix is also under threat, as patrick gearey explains.

half an hour's drive from the tokyo 0lympic half an hour's drive from the tokyo olympic stadium, a cruise ship in quarantine. at least 20 passengers on board have tested positive for coronavirus — reminder of the potential threat to the outbreak poses to this year's game. further inland, preparations go on, by the local organisers have admitted they are seriously worried about the situation. they are looking at what might need to be done if the virus is still around in the summer. the call is for calm. i'm really pleased that the organising committee has established this task force. it is the sensible thing to do, in this regard. it's what we did with rio. but we need to put things into perspective. i'm told the world health organisation says until otherwise, we proceed as usual. tokyois otherwise, we proceed as usual. tokyo is open and it will deliver spectacular paralympic games. back in wuhan in china, where this outbreak started and is at its most serious, stadiums have become hospitals. streets are quiet. there
6:44 pm
is no place for support right now. events in china are already being moved, and women's 0lympic basketball tournament has been switched to serbia. the chinese team there are hoping to provide a distraction for those at home. we just played hard. we want our performance to inspire the chinese people to work hard, to work together. we are the family. some events a re together. we are the family. some events are far harder to move. the chinese grand prix is due to take place in shanghai on 19 april, but formula 1 will consider rescheduling it if coronavirus persists. but that will involve quite some u—turn. it if coronavirus persists. but that will involve quite some u-turn. this is the first time in formula 1 history they're scheduled to be 22 races on the calendar. and honestly looking at that schedule today, it looks very difficult to find any place for a reschedule channel screen place for a reschedule channel screen p, if it was to happen later on in the season dashed chinese grand prix. the last olympics in rio
6:45 pm
had to contend with the threat of zeke a virus. risks can be managed, plans can be made. but ultimately for organisers in tokyo and beyond, this may be about waiting and hoping. patrick gouiri, bbc news. scotland's women will take on england and glasgow. the hosts lost to ireland in their opening fixture, while england secured their first win of the campaign against france. i'm delighted to say we're joined by the scotland women's captain, rachel malcolm. how where the squad's preparations heading into the six nations match against england? we've been kinda preparing pretty hard today, initially we came into last night. it's obviously a pretty big game going into play one of the best teams in the world, so we're really trying to open it up, we can't wait to get on.
