' places of kind of thing and smaller places of worship. the jewish community as well will be fearful, there is a rising tide of violence and particularly despicable type of violence as well. and friday prayers ta ke violence as well. and friday prayers take place tomorrow. turning to the guardian, you mentioned the attack yesterday in germany and we have people there at a vigil, morning the nine. an amount of great concern which angela merkel has referred to herself, she refers to it as a poison in her country, the racial hatred that they, like many other countries, would argue to a certain extent, the uk as well, are experiencing. you look back and we have had three attacks in the last couple of years, there is an attack ona couple of years, there is an attack on a synagogue where people were killed in germany and an attack on a politician who was murdered. there was a terrible atrocity in munich where people were killed in the
10:46 pm
massacre there. it is linked to the rise in immigration and you remember angela merkel open the gates to anyone who can come in and a million people came and. some people in this particular part of germany i am told, the eastern part of germany blamed that decision to allow those people for lack ofjobs and job opportunities there. there has been a rising tension particularly in that area but not exclusively in that area but not exclusively in that area but not exclusively in that area for some time. not a great surprise but a horrible crime. that area for some time. not a great surprise but a horrible crimem certainly is and i think the one and a half million migrants that came, the huge numbers of people that came in and angela merkel did it with the best possible motivation and wanting to help these people, feeling and some sense to address the balance of the past jamming crimes some sense to address the balance of the pastjamming crimes so to speak but you could see the influx because now eventually eu did the deal with

turkey to manage the problem. but it has had an impact and has fuelled the rise of these groups that hate people they perceive to be other than them and therefore their enemies. the interesting thing about this guy who is responsible for this whether he has links to any other organisation, it sounds like he was a lone wolf indoctrinated on the internet and publish the hideous manifesto. and was he a loner? he we nt manifesto. and was he a loner? he went back to his home and killed his mother had been killed several other people in these places. where it did the same trade come from? an intelligent man but possibly someone suffering from mental health issues? speaking to as specialists this evening may think it is not necessarily mean to what many people
10:48 pm
would assume it is nazi —ism, the ideology is very different and reflected across many parts of europe. surf and aspects are similar. —— certain aspects are similar. —— certain aspects are similar. the rise of the fire out right in germany. let's turn back to the telegraph. cold fire is set to be banned to cut emissions. i rely on michael fire and the winter. coal and wood we use. you live in the country, so... probably will not affect us terribly. but the government is set to ban wet wood and coalfrom government is set to ban wet wood and coal from next government is set to ban wet wood and coalfrom next year. it is government is set to ban wet wood and coal from next year. it is fast. and apparently you get coal from south wales you are like because it is naturally smokeless and sometimes
10:49 pm
smokeless feels it will be ok but the new environment secretary, the government is keen to push their green credentials and be seen to be acting on climate change and in fa ct, acting on climate change and in fact, small particular lands from these coal and wood fires are incredibly polluting, and also traffic. and this follows the band from a couple weeks ago announcing they are bringing forward from 20422045 you will not be able to buy a diesel or a hybrid. and now also they are saying fuelled duty which has been frozen for about ten years may decide to put that up again. so it will be very unpopular with some people but at the same time the climate is changing and we will have to change our habits. but will we have to ask in my village, we are not on gas, what will the government do to help villages like that?
10:50 pm
smokeless feels. your oil delivered and substituted by having a fire. the independent now, a story coming to us out of the united states and have you been following the events? it is amazing. i lost track of this fa ct it is amazing. i lost track of this fact that i will impart now but the six donald trump ally to be convicted in a criminal case. the sixth ally and even tonight donald trump is giving no ground at all. he is saying 0k, it is said he lied and that he lied to congress but so did a couple of other people he mentioned and is best fairness? the president questioning the judgement ofa president questioning the judgement of a court and i cannot say outrageous but it is an astonishing way, amazing. for those not following it so closely, roger stone
10:51 pm
was convicted last week were lying to congress and obstructing justice and tampering with a witness. originally i remember the prosecution was calling for sentencing between nine and seven years and the department of stress thatjustice made it clear they would not buy that. and people in the prosecution resigned in protest because what kind ofjustice is it? when a department intervenes in that way. just over three years but the sentence will not be getting for some time because he is appealing his court for a retrial and until the judgement on the retrial of a sentence, it will not take effect. like to make up the way, this is a question we keep asking, donald trump all legal proceedings are taking place, he is on twitter. have you been following him? it isjust incredible and when he became president i remember him saying what do you think of twitter? should i
10:52 pm
carry on or should i stop? tha nkfully carry on or should i stop? thankfully for news organisations but not so thankfully for the rest of us. but we look on at the things he tweets and continues tweeting continually. it is just astonishing but he is riding high in the polls and the economy is booming, his days are very happy with him. the democrats did not seem to be getting themselves together yet and of course no one knows what should happen and we should know by now not to make predictions but he seems to be well—placed for the upcoming election. they to impeach him and that pretty much boosted him i would say with a lot of... the democrats are in such a disarray where they appear to are in such a disarray where they appearto be. are in such a disarray where they appear to be. the attorney general did them i try to push back but a little too late. let's turn back to the guardian. are either of you experience the air b&b experience? my experience the air b&b experience? my son is involved with that, with
10:53 pm
his wife and a nice little sort of income. and this story is out of control basically. it is affecting the numberof control basically. it is affecting the number of years of accommodations that are available to people who have not got too much money and cannot afford to buy their own home. it is amazing figures really. so prevalent in britain and some parts of the country have one less thing for every four properties and the rapid expansion and short term is out of control and the private communities of homes. other than that it does provide people who are having a bit of a struggle a very welcome income like my son for example. it seems to me from the experience i get from talking to him and his wife about it that the organisation is well—run and well monitored. you are well protected as an air b&b leasee as you where by the system. i suppose here it is about the second homes aspect because people will let out their house as they go away or their realm
10:54 pm
but it is the second homes.|j house as they go away or their realm but it is the second homes. i stayed ina lot but it is the second homes. i stayed in a lot of air b&b is a broad but not in britain and you can see the areas they are talking about. and brad 29 out of every 100 homes, you would not expect up at the isle of skyeis would not expect up at the isle of skye is about a quarter in the lake district, large parts of death and and that is a real issue for these sorts of community. i think in lending you can only do it for 90 days unless it is your own home. and if it is not your own home, you cannot let all the time which is possibly a mac but places that you still have affordable housing like cornwall used to be dirt cheap going back a couple of decades but now so many people are buying second homes that have squeezed the market for the local community. so definitely it is an issue because we do have a housing crisis and of course a lot of young people do not necessarily wa nt to of young people do not necessarily want to live in these areas but not
10:55 pm
going to have the option anyway. the article points out if you are using it exclusively, it needs to be registered as a business and is that not the case? i do not know but i know that it is killing the hotels pressure. and possibly are lobbying the government to do something about it. i would the government to do something about it. iwould not the government to do something about it. i would not blame them and they have a right to express their views. thank you very much and i will see you back at 11:30pm. don't forget you can see the front pages of the papers online on the bbc news website. it's all there for you seven days a week at bbc.co.uk/papers. seven days a week you can find those pages. and if you miss the programme any evening, you can watch it later on bbc iplayer. back again at 1130 p.m. for the last edition of the papers. for now, cheerio. —— back again at 11:30pm.

10:58 pm
