il "t “n ‘“ that more more people are thinking about, nobody ever heard of it two months ago and now everybody is talking about slowing the spread, stopping the spread. even during this painful week, we see glimmers of very strong hope and this will be a very painful week. and next week, at least part of next week probably all of it, look if one person dies, it isa all of it, look if one person dies, it is a painful week. and we know thatis it is a painful week. and we know that is going to happen. this is a monster we are fighting. but signs are that our strategy is totally working. every american has a role to play in winning this war. and we are going to be winning it and we are going to be winning it and we are going to be winning it powerfully and will be prepared for the next one should it happen but hopefully it won't. our massive airlift operation for critical supplies, it is called project air bridge can be continued today as five massive planes, flights landed in the united states packed with
10:46 pm
personal protective equipment. and oui’ personal protective equipment. and our nation price health care workers will be the beneficiaries of them. 27 more flights are scheduled in the near future over the next couple of weeks. the army corps of engineers is constructing facilities that will support more than 15,000 hospital beds to treat patients in need so they are building now approximately 15,000. theyjust completed the big one in new york and theyjust completed and are in the process of continuing it in chicago. and many other places. they are incredible. the army corps of engineers, we of them a lot. what they were able to do in such a short period of time, they will build these massive facilities, 2000 beds, in four days. so it is really something, very special. i was in the construction industry and you don't see that happen very often. i want to remind governors and emergency managers
10:47 pm
that are sharing real—time data with us that are sharing real—time data with us about equipment and their needs, it is very important. all of their supplies, hospital occupancy is critical. a lot of the occupancy has been really getting a little bit lower than expected and that is good. we sort of thought that was going to happen. and we are getting along very well with the governors. this whole situation with respect to talking to us about equipment and equipment needs giving us a bit of lead time is so important to all the supplies. we are getting into every body. like they never thought possible. but we will ensure that we can rapidly deploy federal assets where and when they are needed, especially on ventilators. we are actually getting some ventilators back. as you know, the state of california it was great and they since i'm back which they won't need. and washington state likewise. and we have some others coming back so we are using them we need them.
10:48 pm
and we are pressing forward aggressively on the scientific frontier of the medical war. the companies i have spoken to, the four leading i: genius companies, they are doing incredibly well with respect to cures and also with respect to cures and also with respect to cures and also with respect to a vaccine that is going to protect us totally cut. and they have some great potential. it is going to take a little time yet but they have some great potential, some grey early results. and the governors have been working hard and we are working hard with the governors. there has been great coordination especially over the last little while. we have given them a lot of equipment and a lot of ventilators but a lot of equipment of all types. and i will protect you if you are —— your governor fails with the beauty of a governor that is failing, it protect you. but the governors working well with us over the last period of time. today, in
10:49 pm
our stockpile of ventilators, and again when it is stockpile possible can immediately move them from place to place wherever the monster hits, it isa to place wherever the monster hits, it is a monster. we have 8675 ventilators right now in stock ready to move. and we have all sorts of incredible soldiers, our military is going to move them should they be neededin going to move them should they be needed in as an example in new york or the new york city area, you state, city and spoke to mayor bill de blasio and we really have a great well coordinated campaign with him. it is been really good. spoke to governor andrew cuomo and it is been great coordination. so if they need something, we have it. if louisiana needs something, we have it. same thing with michigan, same thing with illinois. there are certain spots that are very hot. we will see what happens. but we will know pretty
10:50 pm
much and we will have time and be able to move it and in addition to the 8675 ventilators, we have 2200 arriving on april 13. we have 5500 arriving on april 13. we have 5500 arriving on april 13. we have 5500 arriving on may the 4th. these are ones that we are building for the most part. and we have as you know great companies building them. ford, general motors, general electric, we have released some great companies are doing it. on may the 18th him that we have 12000 and onjune the 1st, we have 20000 and onjune the 29th, we have 60,000 ventilators coming. 60, 60. so have a total of 110,000 ventilators coming over a short period of time. i don't think you will need them and hopefully we will not need them but i don't think you will need anywhere near that. but we will have them for the future and will also be able to help other countries who are desperate
10:51 pm
ventilators. the uk called today and they wanted to know if you will be possible to get 200 and we'll work it out. they had been a great partner in united kingdom. so we work it out for them. so they wanted 200 and he him desperately. we now have ten drugs and active trials. with 50 more soon to follow. as well as to vaccine candidates and active clinical trials. —— 15 more. we will do whatever it takes to secure needed medical supplies to bring more production of essential medicines back to our shores. we are doing that and bringing them back to our shores, a lot of these companies went a little bit haywire and went away from this great country and they had then produced elsewhere as we will start working them back. i have been talking about that for a long time. not only with medical but lots of other things. america continues to perform more test than any other nation in the world and i
10:52 pm
think that is probably what we have more cases. because when you look at some of these very large countries, i know for a fact they had for more cases than we do but they don't report them. we are performed 1.87 million tests today so that is 1,870,000 tests. think of that, now you're performing them at a level that nobody has ever seen before. as we announced yesterday, cvs testing sites in georgia and rhode island will be using abbott labs rapid five minute test. now five minute test so big get the results back very quickly. we are actively engaging on the problem of increased impacts. these are real problems. and it is showing very strongly in our data. 0n the african—american community and we are doing everything in our
10:53 pm
power to address this challenge. it isa power to address this challenge. it is a tremendous challenge. it is terrible. and provide support to african—american citizens of this country who are going through a lot. but it is been proportional. they are getting hit very hard. in fact, tony, may become up and address that one and then i will continue but if you could address that when it will be great. —— it has been disproportionate. we have a difficult problem particularly with exacerbation of a health disparity. we have known literally forever that diseases like diabetes, hypertension, obesity and asthma artist proportionately afflicting the minority populations and particularly the african—americans. —— are disproportionately affecting. look at the predispose conditions that lead to a bad outcome with
10:54 pm
coronavirus, what get people into i see you and require intubation and often death, they are just those very morbidities that are disproportionately prevalent in the african—american population so we are very concerned about that. it is very sad but we cannot do anything about it right now except to try and give the best possible care to avoid those complications. thank you. thank you very much. i think tony will have some pretty accurate numbers over the next few days but they are very nasty numbers. terrible numbers. in total, 1200 abbott machines, they have been fantastic, they have been shipped now nationwide. up to 500 more are being produced every week and 50,000 testing cartridges are being manufactured per day. that means a lot of very fast tests. no nation in the world has developed a more diverse and robust testing capacity than the us. we are dealing with
10:55 pm
other nations, helping them out because of testing is very tough for them. and our tests are very accurate. a lot of tester out there and are not accurate at all. in fa ct, and are not accurate at all. in fact, some of the task and we don't have a clue what is going on so we are working with other nations, trying to get them help also. and at time when many americans are experiencing increased stress, anxiety and personal loss, we must also ensure that our country can meet the mental health needs of those struggling in this crisis. people are struggling. they are struggling for some and people are getting to know each other frankly. some families are getting to know each other, a positive note but there are people who are struggling. 0n there are people who are struggling. on thursday i will speak to leaders and advocates from the mental health organisations all across our country. and we are going to be talking about resources and tools that will make available to them. he will —— they need help and it is a big problem. when he takes something where it was the most successful
10:56 pm
country in the world, still is, the whole world is shut down, think of it. we are down to numbers that are incredible. it is a suggested i think it is 182 countries right now. 182 countries are under attack. by the scorch, by this virus. —— by the scourge. but as we wage medical war on the virus, we are also speeding economic relief to our people for some it is incredible. wejust had a meeting and was actually incredible with the banks. i spoke with leaders in the banking and finance industry about our efforts to help american workers and employers. as of today, small business has processed more than $70 billion in guaranteed loa ns. than $70 billion in guaranteed loans. and will provide much—needed relief for nearly a quarter of a million businesses already. so we are going to be providing tremendous
10:57 pm
amounts of money to the small businesses of our country who have been clobbered. and we will keep them open and pay their employees and they will be all set to go and we will have a rocket upward. i want to thank david solomon, the ceo of goldman sachs, brian monahan, the ceo of bank of america, gordon smith came up co. president and c00 ceo of bank of america, gordon smith came up co. president and coo of j.p. morgan came up co. president and coo of j. p. morgan chase, came up co. president and coo of j.p. morgan chase, charles scharf, ceo of wells fargo, michael corbett, ceo of wells fargo, michael corbett, ceo of wells fargo, michael corbett, ceo of citigroup, alcala, ceo of visa, michael b bock, ceo of mastercard, noah wilcox, ceo of grand rapids state bank and we had numerous others also on the call and ijust numerous others also on the call and i just appreciate them. they are way ahead of schedule by the way. we are way ahead of schedule. the patient

protection programme has been incredible. —— paycheque protection. but on the incredible success of the programme, iam announcing but on the incredible success of the programme, i am announcing that i will be asking congress to provide an additional $250 billion for the paycheque protection which will help keep americans employed to facilitate a quick and full recovery. we a re facilitate a quick and full recovery. we are doing very well and looking very bipartisan. people want to do it and the plan is amazing. they are processing hundreds of thousands of loans. this is the big banks that are doing it, the kennedy banks. the biggest banks right now in our country are doing it and they are doing it for a lot of reasons and one of them is they want to help people. the who, the world health organisation, receives vast amounts of money from united states. and we pay for a majority of the biggest
10:59 pm
portion of their money. and they actually criticised and disagreed with my travel ban from the time i did it. and they were wrong and they have been wrong about a lot of things. and a lot of information earlier and did not want to give it and were very china centric. we have to look into that and we will look into it. we give a majority of money that they get. it is much more than the 58 million dollars, a small portion of what they have gotten over the years. sometimes i get much more than that and sometimes it is for programmes that they are doing and it is much bigger numbers and at the programme is good, that is great as far as we're concerned that we wa nt to as far as we're concerned that we want to look into it. the world health organisation because they really are, they call it wrong. they called it wrong. they missed the call. they could have called it months earlier and would have known and they should have known and they
11:00 pm
probably did know. so we probably will look into that very carefully. and we are going to put a hold on money spent to the who be going to put a very powerful hold on it are going to see. it is a great thing if it works but when they call every shot wrong, that's no good. we are in the midst of a great national struggle, one that requires the shared sacrifice of all americans most of in recent weeks, he has been markable to see so many companies and organisations and individuals like the banks ijust told you about, the biggest banks in the world. they stepped up to help small business and they are big business and small business will someday be the big business. but the small businesses, half of our economic strength for the people don't realise when you add them up but they just rose to realise when you add them up but theyjust rose to the occasion. everybody is rising to the occasion. it has been incredible to watch. to honour and celebrate citizenship, we
