recently widowed inga declares war on the local cooperative, which she believes has become a mafia—like monopoly, controlling the industry, driving up crises and exploiting the very community it was set up to protect. —— driving up prices. faced with the threat of bankruptcy and ever more suspicious of the forces with may have driven her husband to an early grave, inga finds her own voice, encouraging herfellow farmers to take back control of their lives through facebook blogs and milk spray protests, throwing shovel loads of manure at authority, both metaphorically and literally.

in his 2015 film rams, writer—director grimur hakonarson explored the feud between two sheep—farming brothers who find themselves facing a cull that threatens both their ancestral stock and their entire way of life. here he peels back another layer of icelandic culture, focusing on a woman making her mark in a very male—dominated world. there's a touch of frances mcdormand's character from three billboards outside epping, missouri, and the rebellious figure into which inga transforms.

there's a touch of frances mcdormand's character from three billboards outside epping, missouri, and the rebellious figure into which inga transforms. although anyone who enjoyed the 2018 icelandic hit woman at war may see closer ties with that film's eco—warrior heroine. arndis hronn egilsdottir does a terrificjob embodying inga's gradual change from stoically suffering farm owner to unstoppable force of nature. a change that catches everyone by surprise, friends and foe alike. pitched somewhere between a personal drama, a bone—dry black comedy and a sociopolitical thriller, the county is a melancholy oddity, carried shoulder—high by its central performance and framed in widescreen vistas that perfectly captured both the mystery and the loneliness of this landscape. you can find the county on curzon home cinema.

and his friend davis was inspired by the tone of the indian—american road movie stranger than paradise, mac one has a deadpan street throwing its character on a seemingly aimless but a moving odyssey. a coming—of—agejourney but a moving odyssey. a coming—of—age journey variously furnished with lawsuit cases, heady encounters, and meagre coffins. the colourful academy ratio framing finds strange beauty and unlikely circumstances as action was from dare with houses to magical theatres from the towns to the mountain tops exploring its central themes of migration and duality through the divided soul of elma who is at one point literally cut in half. and note that is not a pots weather. it's just another peculiar detail in a film filled with memorable images in which everything and nothing appeared to be happening simultaneously. take me somewhere nice is now available.

of six positive which fulfillment. despite the title which an english at least has overtones of buffoonery, the result is sometimes shocking, often funny, but ultimately redemptive and uplifting. the same cannot be said of bad boys for life, the belated third sequel toa for life, the belated third sequel to a franchise everyone thought runs chorus back in 2003 but would return to cinemas earlier this year to surprisingly crowd pleasing affect without michael bay who makes a fleeting cameo appearance. it is carnage. you didn't shoot anybody? uncapped, you know i shut the money. will smith are back but older are not necessarily wise for someone along for a time revenge most of it

isa along for a time revenge most of it is a onenote gap didn't tickle my funny bone but in the interests of editorial honesty, i must confess that the rest of this in my i saw withinjanuary that the rest of this in my i saw within january appeared to enjoy it enormously. where they will get the same kind of response in front of rooms in the country remains to be seen, you rooms in the country remains to be seen, you can own and on rooms in the country remains to be seen, you can own and on dvd and blu—ray through monday. personally, i would give the hollywood blockbusters a mess and check out something more adventurous like the orphanage which anna smith recommended on the film review last week and is now available. the tale ofa week and is now available. the tale of a teenage boy's life and soviet occupied afghanistan, this beautifully empathetic film has something of the true get of a coming—of—age story that does not shy away from the grim realities of its central character's circumstances. the use of plywood inspired fantasy services is a

massive stroke express the inner life of these downtrodden youngsters with wit, dexterity, and surprising sincerity. but my own pick up the very best film currently available for home viewing is never really sometimes always a brain trauma from eliza had meant that addresses the urgent contemporary issue of reproductive rights through a coming—of—age story that presents a note perfect patrol of fema friendship. i saw you were not at school today. i went to the doctor. are you 0k? yeah, i am fine. what is wrong? problems. combining

9:55 pm
in the short—term, it's going to remain very windy. it was a very blustery day across northern ireland and western scotland. and as far as the weekend goes, a tale of two halves. so, we've got a windy saturday on the way and then come sunday, things should slowly start to calm down. now, here's the satellite picture of the storm that's been just about brushing us, it is not right on top of us but it is close enough to give us a real good blow, a real bluster out there. so, for northern ireland and scotland, those strong winds will continue through the course of friday and into saturday. even to the south of the country, those winds will increase as well. so let's have a closer look at the forecast then. this is what it looks like early on saturday morning. the low pressure with the rain and the strong winds affecting western scotland, especially. this is where we'll have the strongest of the winds. very gusty especially across the pennines, the lake district there in the north—west of england. 40—50 mph, maybe 60 there off the coast of scotland. and to the south, winds strong enough to even take a few branches off of trees.
9:56 pm
so, for many of us, a sunny day with a few showers. a very gusty one with fast—moving clouds in the sky. 19 degrees will be the top temperature on saturday. now, sunday a different story because that gow pulls away into scandinavia and in its wake, we see high—pressure developing. that low pulls a\ high—pressure means the winds will be slowing down, it will be sunny and dry for most of the uk, so the best of the weather conditions i think closer to that high—pressure which is in the south whereas in the northjust a little bit of cloud may be still a few spits in spots of rain, a couple of showers. the temperatures on sunday will rise a little bit around 22 in london and in glasgow they will recover to around 16 celsius. now, into monday, high—pressure still there in the south. in fact, spreading further north. the far north—west of scotland being brushed by weather systems with slightly stronger winds. the main message is that we are
9:57 pm
going to see a current of warm air from the azores coming in and spreading notjust across the uk but many other parts here. so, we are in for a spell of some very warm weather next week and monday is going to be the beginning. on monday we have got temperatures up to around 25 degrees. just shy of 20 there in the low lands of scotland where the weather front just brushing the western isles here. in fact this is where we are going to see the buffer zone. you have the atlantic weather here, you've got this is that buffer zone, that week let's call it weather front so anywhere safe from belfast, glasgow into just about north—western england, the possibility of clouds and maybe some rain to the north and north and scotland, it is cool. 13 in stornoway to the south. we've got those temperatures in the mid—20s. and that same pattern is going to continue into tuesday. so, here is that buffer zone. remember the warm continental air to the south, the cooler atlantic air to the north. in fact it looks as though the rain could be quite heavy
9:58 pm
for a time sometime midweek. but then it will eventually pull away. so there will be some sunshine around in the north for sure, but it's the far south that gets the lion's share of that warm sunshine. 26 in london and easily low to mid 20s across the midlands as well. and that pattern is not going to change much as we head towards the end of the week. we still have that warm current of air in the south and spreading evermore to other parts of europe as well. bye— bye.

tonight at 10, the scientific advice behind the government's controversial plan to begin reopening primary schools in england is released. it says the balance of evidence suggests children are less vulnerable to coronavirus infection, and less likely to spread it than adults. some parents remain unconvinced. it's safer for my own child and other children if i keep him off. i think they should concentrate on the older children, maybe, who can social distance. we'll look at the scientific advice, and the debate over the risk to children, teachers and the wider community. also tonight.... new quarantine rules for travellers to the uk. visitors face fines, for not self—isolating.
