hello and welcome to sportsday. welcome to the programme, thank you forjoining us. we start with a huge sigh of relief for manchester city and there supporters today. they were looking at two seasons out of the champions league, a huge financial hit and questions about whether their biggest players and manager would want to stay. but the european ban they were given from uefa has been overturned by the court of arbitration for sport — which has ruled the club did not disguise sponsorship funds to evade financial fair play rules. our sports editor dan roann is at the etihad stadium tonight —where the club will obviously be very happy dan — but there are plenty of people in football tonight questioning what this ruling

means for uefa and it's financial fair play regulations, because they found city did do something wrong? 0n the face of it, severely weakened because one does have to ask if they cannot win a case like this, when there is so much apparent evidence and when they club has been found to obstruct its investigation and did not co—operate, and felt the rules backin not co—operate, and felt the rules back in 2014 when will uefa actually do this? there have been previous cases but i think this does reinforce concerns that governing bodies are limited when it comes to upholding their own rule book when it's up against clubs with the legal might in the financial power of manchester city. we have to remind us manchester city. we have to remind us of the city insisted that they did nothing wrong and that been vindicated. make the mistake, this isa vindicated. make the mistake, this is a resounding and crucial when others of the principal claim that
