7:33 pm
pakistan losing three early wickets in the day here. james anderson on all three occasions. this is significant for addison because he moves on to 500 and ten wickets. perhaps the biggest wicket of them all. out for 11, he perhaps the biggest wicket of them all. out for", he did not perhaps the biggest wicket of them all. out for 11, he did not bother reviewing the decision. england can head off the field knowing this was a job well done. the two batsmen in turn, jos buttler ina the two batsmen in turn, jos buttler in a moment and his contribution, firstly to zak crawley stop this is a man's slightly under pressure despite his huge potential. he has now delivered on that massively. he has, 22—year—old. batting at number three, problem spots are england and mason years. he reached 200 with a flourish, then moved on, starting moving through the gears and i was at that point you felt that perhaps there could be more records being
7:34 pm
broken today. we were looking that he could go over 300, wherewith to get to? 250 came up and eventually he found himself dismissed. we were just wondering whether he will be to catch the likes of graham gooch‘s. it was not to be in the end for zak crawley but he knows what is done todayis crawley but he knows what is done today is not just crawley but he knows what is done today is notjust cemented his place in this england side for the foreseeable future, but is also solved a real selection headache then led by shown he can bat at number three and what a good job he could do about it as well. his test century, josh butler's second. crucial for his test century, josh butler's second. crucialfor him his test century, josh butler's second. crucial for him as well, having the time we were speaking about with zak crawley. jos buttler has not had the easiest time this summer behind the stumps, keeping wicket. hasn't been that tidy with the gloves compared with the bat he has excelled. 0nly tidy with the gloves compared with the bat he has excelled. only two batsmen have scored more runs than him in the series for england. what happened when he reached that 100 was a relief for him because there
7:35 pm
with a nervous moment when he was given out on 99 and elect may be the dream had died forjos buttler in this game. he got the refund made it to three figures. you could see the reaction from the england team on the balcony on the far side of the ground, celebrating, banging on the glass of the dressing room, thrilled forjos buttler because it is a popular member of the squad. we know what he can do any white ball cricket, for today, the second time only, he has delivered in red bull cricket and england will be so delighted on how the stay has gone. thank you, henry. england captain 0wen farrell helped saracens to a win in the premiership london derby this afternoon in what was his first game since the beginning of march. he scored 16 points but none of the four tries in their 36—24 victory over harlequins, as craig templeton reports. blue skies in what has been the stormiest of saracen seasons. but despite relegation,
7:36 pm
a london derby against harlequin still carries weight. and there wasn't much of a wait for the opening try. sean maitland with a spin, five points on the board. they added another through maro itoje, before aled davies got a score to accompany his full debut. tensions can often spill over in this fixture but after a bit of a grapple and a bit of a push, it was back to the action. a lot of that action came from the boot of 0wen farrell, another pinpoint performance on his 200th game for the club. harlequins had ground to make up, something that paul lasike took as a personal challenge. the camera may have missed his second try, don't worry they made no mistake. that opened the door for quins but alex lewington slammed it firmly shut to make sure of a bonus point win and a brighter day.
7:37 pm
northampton kept their play—off push on track with a bonus point win over london irish. ahsee tuala, their samoan fullback, with the fourth try in the final minutes of the game. and bath are also hunting down a spot in the end of season play—offs. a bonus point win for them too, against leicester tigers, sees them keep in touch with the top four. tom de glanville, son of former england captain phil, scoring their sixth try in the 38—11win. it's been 169 days since there was any rugby in wales but the pro14 returned today with scarlets beating the cardiff blues. and it was a convincing win for scarlets. 32—12 the final score. wingerjohnny mcnicholl scoring their fifth try in the bonus point victory, keeping alive their hopes of getting into the play—offs. glasgow are currently 15—13 up against edinburgh. edinburgh enhanced their play—off hopes and put a dent in rivals glasgow's with a 30—15 win. it was a tight affair until edinburgh pulled away in the last quarter. scrum—half charlie shiel with final try of the match.

7:39 pm
for the player to negotiate. we saw some several improvement in the scores today. sophia popov is the leader, ranked 30a in the world, round in 67, the first round of the championship with no bogeys in it at all and at four under par she leads by one. you mention sophia popov, what kind of achievement would it be, should a woman outside of the rankings but also to never win a professional tournament before, what a one it would be to win. she has not won on the lpga tour but she is on the lesser tours. she has enjoyed a victory at a course called troon north. i wonder if it is an omen. she has played a fair amount of links golf growing up into the game. she was perhaps coming into this as something of a dark horse. but let's make no mistake, it would be a huge shock were she to go on and win a major ranked 30a in the world,
7:40 pm
playing on a feeder tour into the lgpa, not even the main circuit. an extraordinary performance so far for this american born german, we can't wait to see whether she can turn that into victory tomorrow. after having two games cancelled after a coronavirus quarantine breach by one of their players, celtic returned to league action with a win but they had to wait a while to secure the victory over dundee united. substitute albian ajeti snatching all three points for neil lennon's side in the 83rd minute. earlier rangers went three points clear at the top after a 2—0 win against kilmarnock. new signing kemar roofe getting his first goal for the club. while st mirren and ross county drew 1—1. reigning moto gp world champion marc marquez will not win a fifth title in a row. the spaniard has been ruled out for up to a further three months because of the broken arm he suffered in the first race of the truncated season, which will end on november the 22nd.
7:41 pm
meanwhile pol espargaro has claimed pole position for sunday's styrian moto gp race in austria. it's the first time the 29—year—old spaniard has secured the top spot on the grid in seven seasons in motogp. valentino rossi will start 14th after crashing in the opening session. britain's cal crutchlow and bradley smith will start from 17th and 18th. tonight heavyweight contenders dillian whyte and alexander povetkin meet for the chance to get a shot at the wbc world title, and possibly tyson fury. for whyte, that opportunity has been a long time coming. alex gulrajani has the story. the lights, the glamour, the hype. even in a global pandemic, boxing has still got the stardust. from empty casinos and tv studios, to a back garden in essex. that is where you will find heavyweight contender
7:42 pm
dillian whyte this weekend, who faces former world champion alexander povetkin. he's only come up short twice in 42 fights. he's still got punch power, he's still got good timing and he has the ability to come back. what makes him dangerous is he will look at me thinking, this guy is an inexperienced guy. i can beat this guy — that's what makes him really dangerous. he believes that he can beat me. well, victory for either man will guarantee them a shot at the world title. something that dillian whyte has been waiting for since 2017 when he became the wbc‘s number one contender. a fight though against the then champion deontay wilder never materialised. wilder fought different opponents, including tyson fury who he lost to in february of this year. whyte though remained active throughout, waited for his chance until an issue with uk anti—doping meant he was charged injuly 2019. those charges were dropped in december last year
7:43 pm
and now whyte stands as close as he's ever been to a chance of winning the heavyweight world title. dillian was involved in a situation in which he was, by merit, ranked as number one, but there was another contender. we have had so much confusion and disappointments with that situation of dillian and today, he is the wbc interim champion, he is fighting povetkin saturday, if he wins, he fights against the winner of wilder versus fury — period. so this time next year, will we be sitting in having this discussion with dillian whyte having had a chance to fight for your title? it is a clear picture, so everyone can see i am looking into your eyes. fury fights wilder, and then the winner fights dillian whyte. there is no exceptions. unless there is a step aside agreement, which is a practice that has been successful in the history of the sport. so it's almost guaranteed, then. if and when whyte gets his world
7:44 pm
title chance, he can't say he hasn't earned it. alex gulrajani, bbc news. you can listen to that on bbc radio 5 live this evening. arsenal's women's champions league quarterfinal is under way against paris saint—germain. these games taking place in the north of spain. it's currently 1—1 in san sebastian as we approach half—time. marie—antoinette katoto scored with this volley from a corner to give psg the lead. just before half—time though arsenal pulled level through beth mead. so all to play for. the winner of this game will play the winner of the other last eight tie tonight, bayern munich against defending champions lyon which is goalless. that's all from sportsday. thank you for your company, good
