where we will see the showers at their most frequent, their heaviest and with hail and thunder mixed in. fewer showers the further east you are with a better chance of holding onto sunshine for longer. shetland though will see cloud and rain persist and for all of us, a cooler day than we saw today. as we go to wednesday evening, some of the showers will fade and some will keep going in western scotland for a time but there's more cloud waiting in the winds and a deepening area of low pressure around the system in the north atlantic which will bring more persistent rain and a lift in temperatures as we go into thursday. some fairly windy conditions developing through the day, persistent rain moving to the north—east and by the end of the afternoon brightening up in the south, a milder day and milder weather to come on friday as well. goodbye from me and time to join the news tea m goodbye from me and time to join the news team where you are.
