welcome back. in the past hour the health secretary matt hancock has been giving the latest downing street coronavirus briefing, alongside professor stephen powis, medical director of nhs england, and dr susan hopkins of public health england. let's take a look at some of the key points. the health secretary confirmed all residents and staff in eligible care homes have been offered a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine. a total of 9.2 million people have been vaccinated across the uk — this weekend alone saw1 in 60 adults receive a vaccine. nine in 10 of the over—80s have been vaccinated in the uk, as per the prioritisation list. matt hancock also confirmed that 105 cases of the south african variant have been identified in the uk and 11 of these do not appear to have links to international travel. he stressed that while there is no evidence that the new variant is any more
