richard westcott, bbc news, cambridge. a bit easier to grasp thanks to the talent of our weather presenters is the forecast. here's matt taylor. hello. whilst it's been a dry and sunny day for a few of you, for others, there's been some intense showers and thunderstorms and there are more to come again on monday, some of the worst of them in slightly different areas to where we saw through today. still some sunshine in between and whilst we've got the showers around at the moment, some of them will fade through the night, but there will be some continuing, particularly across parts of england and central scotland. a reasonably mild night, i think, for many, with temperatures dropping down into low single figures probably in northern ireland and south—west scotland. now, as we start monday, a fair bit of cloud around, but some sunny spells. many will start dry. there will still be some showers from overnight across scotland, northern and central parts of england, butjust notice how the showers blossom, again, perhaps fewer across the western half of england and wales compared with what we saw through today, but more intense showers and storms in eastern scotland and eastern parts of england.

crystal palace beat aston villa 3—2 at selhurst park in the premier league's early kick—off. palace twice came from behind to win the match. john mcginn put villa ahead first, only for christian benteke to equalise against his former club. the visitors regained the lead through anwar el ghazi, but wilfied zaha levelled things again, before tyrick mitchell scored the winnerfor palace. it's the 21 year old's first senior goal of his career and earned him high praise from his team—mates after. when i was addressing the players, congratulating them, there was no tyrick. when he came through the door, the players and staff burst into spontaneous applause and the smell in his face and the obvious i°y smell in his face and the obvious joy that this performance has given him, that is something that will remain in my memory for a good while and i at least said to him, you

in diving, grace reid and katherine torrance just missed out on a medal in the three metre springboard final of the european championships. their last dive wasn't enough as they were pipped to bronze by less than a point. novak djokovic and rafael nadal are currently on court in the final of the italian 0pen. it was nadal who took the first set 7—5 recovering from an early break defecit. but djokovic came back strong in the second to win 6—1. it's currently three games to two for nadal in the third set. this is the sixth time the pair have met in the final of this tournament. djokovic will be looking to retain his title, while nadal aims for a tenth italian 0pen victory. iga swiatek has beaten world number nine karolina pliskova to win the italian 0pen. the teenagerfrom poland came through in straight sets to secure victory after just 46 minutes.

it finished 6—0, 6—0. the result bodes well for the defence of her french open title, which begins at roland garros in two weeks' time. in the men's doubles final, britain'sjoe salisbury and partner rajeev ram lost in straight sets to nikola mek—tic and mate pavic. they were beaten 6—4, 7—6 in rome by the croatian second seeds, for whom it was a third atp masters 1000 title of the season. 0spreys beat dragons by 42 points to 26 for their second win in the pro—14 rainbow cup. 0spreys ran in five tries, with fourfor dragons and morgan morris was bundled over the line to help the visitors to a 20—14 half time lead. it was a close match but 0spreys were always ahead and debutant max naggy scored their final try of the game. a bonus point for each side, and 0spreys up to third in the table.

in motogp, the australian jack miller got his second consecutive victory, winning the french grand prix at le mans. some of the riders coped better than others with the wet and windy conditions, former champion marc marquez fell twice before calling it a day. but miller stayed aboard to take the chequered flag. johan zarco was second. fabio quartararo came in third and leads the overall standings, miller is fourth. that's all from sportsday. we'll be back with more in the next hour. we'll have more details on all of those stories on the bbc sport website.

hello and welcome to the film review with me, mark kermode, rounding up the best movies available for viewing in the home and in cinemas. the big news for film fans is that from monday, uk cinemas will start to reopen and many award—winning movies that are ready available on streaming services will be among those first titles welcoming viewers back to the big screen. the way i see it is that the titanic is sinking and economic times are changing. and so my goal is to get the lifeboats out and get as many people into the lifeboats as i can.
