hello. if you are out and about this evening, be aware — we've still got some heavy rain and some lively winds. by tomorrow, that will be stuck across the north of scotland and instead, plenty of heavy showers and gusty winds, even hail and thunder will follow on. this is the area of low pressure that brought in today's rain and strong and gusty winds. as it sits across the uk tomorrow, it will throw further showers our way. but as i say, some pretty heavy rain for a few hours for many of us and some quite lively winds. there are showers following, but as we go through the evening and overnight, and that low pressure — and it's a weather front — becomes confined to northern and central scotland. we'lljust have a scattering of showers elsewhere. fairly cool overnight, particularly, i think, in central areas like northern ireland. with the light winds and clear skies here, a touch of grass frost. but the showers already packing into the west for the day on monday. will soon extend further eastwards. 0ur weather front sitting in the north as well will give a rather wet day

to northern and central scotland. after the early sunshine in shetland, it will push northwards. eventually, after the bright, chilly start in northern ireland, it will extend its influence here, too. perhaps some of the driest weather, southern scotland, northern england, but for much of england and wales, its slow moving, heavy downpours, hail and thunder. the wind will pick up in the south and west later, as it will in the north and west, and it's cool for the time of year, butjust a notch up on those of today. tuesday sees that low pressure still influencing the uk, so a lot of the showers across central and eastern areas, perhaps an area of rain pushing close to the south. tuesday into wednesday, another weather system pushing southwards, so we aren't going to be plagued by weather fronts again this week. still some heavy downpours, hail and thunder on tuesday, perhaps less frequent. temperatures with a little bit more brightness and sunshine, therefore may be a little higher. higher again therefore may be a little higher. higheragain as we therefore may be a little higher. higher again as we go from tuesday into wednesday, although we've got that northerly wind across scotland and some fairly cloudy conditions.

with more sunshine elsewhere, fewer showers, we might be seeing the middle or high teens, 16 or 17 celsius. still some more heavy showers to come through the week ahead with hail and thunder, but it does look as though we approach the end of the week on a drier note. with a bit more may sunshine to offer. temperatures will start to creep up. we'll keep you updated. bye—bye.
