english and the czechs. we will be with the wales camp very shortly as well as we round up other home nations, but let's start with the breaking news coming out of the england camp in the last 30 minutes or so, and that is related to the scotland midfielder billy gilmour*s positive test. we saw how his chelsea team makes play the whole match and ben chilwell, who was on the bench, they went to congratulate gilmour, who has tested positive. a consultation with public health england, ben chilwell and mason mount, after interaction with gilmour, have to self—isolate. they will be kept away from the players in the wider support team. the squad

had lateral flow tests and all were negative as was the case with sunday's uefa pre—match pcr test that they had to take 48 hours before facing the czechs. mount and chill well, despite training now having to self—isolate, and they will have further discussions to see whether those two can play any part in that match against the czechs. let's get up to glasgow because the day started with news of that test jane, we saw the interaction between mount and chilwell. that drawl that felt like a victory for them, what's the latest from them? losing such an influential player anyway. exactly. billy gilmour, clearly a

rising talent for scotland, we saw that during england's match where he was given man of the match. but to not have him as an option for one of scotland's most important games in years is a devastating blow for steve clarke. you mentioned him coming into contact with other members of the squad. we have been told that no other player has tested positive, but questions have to be raised as to how the virus was able to penetrate the secure bubble in the first place. this is the second time i scotland player has tested positive. before the tournament, john fleck had to isolate, six other members. there was a concern that something similar could happen after gilmour*s positive test. concerns that he is ill, although steve clarke was at pains to point out
6:37 pm
that he's not actually suffering any symptoms of the virus. he's upset, as you would expect. h0pefully— he's upset, as you would expect. hopefully he will hold up. and get back to playing as quickly as possible. a chance for someone else. they will be keeping everything crossed that any possible close contact with gilmour doesn't further impact that match against croatia because there is an awful lot writing on it. they kept themselves alive. but now, they know what's required at hampden tomorrow night. yes, going into this match with the confidence of that 0—0 drawl, perhaps basking in it has been deflated with this news about billy gilmour. their opponents croatia,
6:38 pm
they've actually never beaten scotland before. however, as we know, they were runners—up in the world cup in 2018, so they are going to be a tough team to beat. but victory is what scotland need, and thatis victory is what scotland need, and that is all that can keep scotland in this tournament. a draw or a loss means scotland would stay in fourth place, and that's not good enough. a win would move them to either second or third. they would automatically qualify, but third—place means they would be dependent upon results in other groups. gilmour did not travel to glasgow. he's isolating at the team's training base in the northeast. it scotland to progress, he will be involved —— won't be involved in their next match either. that gives steve clarke a huge headache for his selection process, but it also gives him a concern about the health of the rest of his squad. of course, could be a real nailbiter tomorrow. you will have the very

latest. would you believe it, gareth southgate was supposed to be giving a news conference right now with mason mount, but that's obviously not happening because mount is self—isolating. about three or four miles south from us here. all by himself. i know a lot of the questions will be about how does he get this england team clicking again. he's already confirmed that harry kane, even though he's out of form, possibly his fitness is a problem as well. although kane says it isn't, he will start this match against the czech republic. he said that the other players who have to give him more service in two matches. kane has not had a single shot on target. he'll be hoping that his third time lucky the czechs. and they would top the group, but for points as it stands, probably enough

to get through. that will be confirmed with the group be matches. over the last play for hours, all the players have been rallying together saying yes, we need to improve. it's not the end of the world. do not overreact. we will get it right. and they should get through to the last 16 anyway, no matter what happens against the czechs. the czechs are the only team to beat england in their last two qualifying campaigns for major tournaments. we will try to bring you some of those a little bit later. i know one of the home nations who are buoyant after a defeat, the welsh team. they know they are off to empress or damn in they are off to empress or damn in the last 16. —— amsterdam. how will griffith is in rome for us. very good italian team, you have to feel
