on centre court at the moment andy murray is playing his first match since 2017 in the singles. these are live pictures on bbc two, he is playing nikoloz basilashvili and it is tied, three games all in the first set. murray was moving well there, bearing in mind he has that metal hip now. it is still a huge ask for him, how far can he go here at wimbledon? he will still fancy his chances to get past the opening round here and the fans are watching on henman hill and of course on centre court, enjoying that one as murray looks to progress to the second round. rain kept us waiting on the outside courts. in the centre court, played it start more or less on time. there was a lovely moment before we had the match of the day. as part of a thank you day here at wimbledon, amongst the guests was dame sarah gilbert. all nhs staff

receiving a standing ovation, hundreds of free tickets given to key workers and what the organisers describe as inspirational individuals during the pandemic and those were the scenes on centre court before the first match, as is tradition here, the defending men's champion getting play under way. that was novak djokovic against jack draper, a 19—year—old british wild card playing his first grand slam and boy did he give the fans something to cheer about early on. welcome to centre court. many of them were just glad to be there. jack draper, 19 years old, and on centre court basic mm unbeaten in grand slam tennis this year. an early break of serve over the world number one. djokovic had come to
