weren't allowed our mobile phones in classrooms either. we didn't have them taken off us but we knew we couldn't use them in the classroom. this is something, if you read the times story, the people are very divided on. i think there are reasons for that. of course teachers don't, and i'm sure parents don't want students sitting in classroom using social media. but there's all sorts of concerns about the impact of social media outside school, never mind inside the school and we have all these different forms of it. but there's also parents who may wish their children to have access to a phone to keep in contact with them, especially during the pandemic, it gives you that extra bit of availability, you're able to speak to your child or parent very quickly. this is one of those talker stories that i'm sure lots of people will debate, and i'm very intrigued by this one, actually.— by this one, actually. let's move onto the sport — by this one, actually. let's move onto the sport now, _ by this one, actually. let's move onto the sport now, as _ by this one, actually. let's move onto the sport now, as we - by this one, actually. let's move onto the sport now, as we take l by this one, actually. let's move l onto the sport now, as we take on

after losing in three sets to lucky loser kristie ahn in a match that didn't finish until 20 past 10pm in the evening. the american was a 2—6, 7—6, 8—6 winner and will now play compatriot sloane stephens in the next round. katie swan, the british number eight, also lost her first round match. scans have shown geraint thomas hasn't broken his shoulder after crashing early today in the tour de france, but he will be reassessed in the morning ahead of the fourth stage. the 2018 champion disloacate his shoulder on stage three and it was put back in by race doctors — he managed to rejoin the race and avoided losing much time. last year's runner—up, primoz roglic, also crashed and lost 95 seconds. there were several more incidents, including this one at the stage finish — tim merleer came through it all to win the stage, his team—mate and fellow belgian, mathieu van der pool, keeps the leader's yellowjersey. and that's all the sport for now.
