putting gb in the driving seat in a group that also includes the hosts japan and canada. our sports correspondent andy swiss was watching. after a ll after all the preparations and of course eight year's postponement, it was finally time. two days before the games officially kick off, team ndiaye beat*s footballers were doing so against chile at an empty stadium. first of the moment of olympic history as both teams took the knee. the ioc have changed their rules to allow athletes to do so. the british team have high metal hopes in the football and they were soon showing why. ellen white thought she had put them ahead only to be denied by the offside flag. her frustration to be denied by the offside flag. herfrustration did not to be denied by the offside flag. her frustration did not last long as after less than 20 minutes, team gb's after less than 20 minutes, team gb*s dominance reaped is reward.

lina hurtig came off the bench to add a third for sweden, who knocked the usa out on penalties in the quarter—finals at the rio games five years ago en route to winning silver. and marta has become the first player to score in five consecutive olympic games. the 38—year—old brazilian got two in her team's 5—0 win over china. british shooter amber hill has withdrawn from the olympics after testing positive for coronavirus before her depature for the games. hill is ranked number one in women's skeet shooting and joins chile's taekwondo athlete fernanda aguirre and dutch skateboarder candy jacobs in having to pull out because of positive covid tests. the british olympic association says there'll be no replacement for hill, who won silver at the commonwealth games in 2018. well, in a statement, hill says she's "devastated" to be missing out a tough one for amber hill to take.

there's better news for another british olympic hopeful, though. 400 metres hurdlerjessie knight will still be allowed to compete at the games despite being told to isolate, along with five other team gb athletes, because a passenger on their flight to tokyo tested positive for coronavirus. knight, and the others, have been given the green light to resume training, and she's been talking to our sports correspondent natalie pirks. i u nfortu nately i unfortunately was one of the ones who was within two rows of somebody who was within two rows of somebody who tested positive on the plane. it was no one from team gb. we had been rigorously tested. 14 days prior to leaving for tokyo. so i think i have just been quite unlucky in that sense. as an athlete, you did know it could happen. just because of the current situation, you just knew it. so i'm just relieved i have not tested positive. so i'm actually in a good position. i'm healthy and to be honest i'm spending a lot of time in my room but i can relax and i can
6:39 pm
focus on the one thing and the one reason i'm here. so i feel in a good place. fix, reason i'm here. so i feel in a good lace. * , reason i'm here. so i feel in a good lace, * , ., reason i'm here. so i feel in a good lace. m ., place. a stroke of bad luck initially but _ place. a stroke of bad luck initially but did _ place. a stroke of bad luck initially but did you - place. a stroke of bad luck initially but did you have . place. a stroke of bad luck i initially but did you have your heart initially sink before you knew what kind of conditions you could be in? , , ., what kind of conditions you could be in? , ., _ in? yes, so obviously when i was initially told. _ in? yes, so obviously when i was initially told, i _ in? yes, so obviously when i was initially told, i was _ in? yes, so obviously when i was initially told, i was told _ in? yes, so obviously when i was initially told, i was told we - in? yes, so obviously when i was initially told, i was told we need | initially told, i was told we need to speak to use in my heart dropped and i thought i had tested positive. i thought that is what i was being pulled. the fact that it was just because i was a close contact, i was really relieved, and of course the immediate panic was not being able to train. i don't care what anyone says, my coach is just trying to keep me calm in the sense that she is like the work is done and it does not matter but you don't want to miss ia days of training coming into the biggest race of your life. so i was panicking but to be honest it was panicking but to be honest it was communicated so quickly that i would be able to train as long as we were providing those negative tests. so fortunately we just has so much munication can we got ourselves a watch that group that is
6:40 pm
continuously keeping us updated and to be honest i had about half an hour of panic and that was it and the rest of it being quite settled. so, yeah, no worries now. so the rest of it being quite settled. so, yeah, no worries now.- the rest of it being quite settled. so, yeah, no worries now. so for you as lona so, yeah, no worries now. so for you as long as — so, yeah, no worries now. so for you as long as you _ so, yeah, no worries now. so for you as long as you keep _ so, yeah, no worries now. so for you as long as you keep testing - as long as you keep testing negative, you can go about training. just tell us how that has affected the way you train. 50 just tell us how that has affected the way you train.— the way you train. so we are tested, the way you train. so we are tested, the athletes — the way you train. so we are tested, the athletes currently _ the way you train. so we are tested, the athletes currently in _ the way you train. so we are tested, the athletes currently in isolation i the athletes currently in isolation are tested twice a day, so we are tested before 8am every day and then before apm every day. this allows us to train. so dependent on what time we are tested and what that means we are cleared for training so we are not putting anyone at risk at any point. but to be honest, the training, my training has not been affected at all. i luckily can still be coached. theyjust obviously have to be at two metres distance which we were all keeping distance anyway. no one is hugging here or anything like that so it does not actually feel that different. we have been provided a separate gazebo that is just for us athletes and the
6:41 pm
athletes that have been affected are not there at the same time. so even that gazebo, there is no more than two of you at one time. so to be honest, yeah, my training, i had a session yesterday and a hurtle session and it was going really well out here. so luckily the training is not affected and preparations won't be after tokyo, the games will go to paris in 202a, la in 2028 and today it's been confirmed the 2032 olympics and paralympics will be held in brisbane. it'll be the third time australia's hosting the games, asjoe lynskey reports. if this is the olympics toughest year, then soon the games host there are brighter days ahead. today we found out who would be host in 2032. there was only one better. the games ofthe there was only one better. the games of the 35th olympian _ there was only one better. the games of the 35th olympian are _ there was only one better. the games of the 35th olympian are awarded - there was only one better. the games of the 35th olympian are awarded to i of the 35th olympian are awarded to brisbane, australia!—
