one upside to sunshine and showers is the beauty of rainbows. we saw some fantastic ones across the country through today. look at this stunning one across acton in london. it was taken from acton, looking towards the city centre. that was during a torrential downpour which moved through within the last hour. we have seen loads of showers and thunderstorms today. some very wet weather across the southeast this morning, a whole rush of showers began to develop further north and west, thunderstorms into western scotland, dotted around northern ireland, northern england, a rush into eastern england later on. good spells of sunshine in between. it has been raining all the time everywhere. this evening and overnight, most of the showers will become confined to central, northern and western areas. we could see some lengthier dry spells across the south—east. variable cloud here. fairly breezy, temperatures up to 13 or ia degrees in the south, closer to ten or 12 further north. we have an area of low pressure still with us for part two of the weekend.
