for many the weather is looking fine for many of us this week. it's going to be settled and dry. high pressure is currently building over the uk. it is firmly in charge of the weather, and it's not about to budge, probably not until sometime next week. but it's not necessarily sunshine all round. there is a fair bit of cloud stuck in this high pressure, which is often what happens. for example, this bank of cloud in the north sea will be pushed in by the wind blowing off the north sea into and central parts of the country. that means by early tuesday morning, say in the peak district, it might be pretty overcast, whereas for many other parts of the country, we will be waking up to sunshine, like the lake district and the south coast of england. it is not cold. the cloud will vary during the day, but the best sunshine will be in the centre of his high pressure, where the winds are also light and where we get that sunshine.
6:31 pm
on wednesday, the high pressure is still there. a bit more of a breeze which will be felt along the north sea because during this week, but there is very little difference. let's look at the forecast for the rest of the week was that we will be chopping and changing between the sunny my cloudy and bright symbols. temperatures are neither going to be too hot or too cold. for most of us, it's going to be just right. that's all from the bbc news at six — so it's goodbye from me and on bbc one, we nowjoin the bbc*s news teams where you are.

swimmer ellie simmonds and archerjohn stubbs will be flag—bearers for the british team in tomorrow's opening ceremony. this will be a fourth games in a row for the five time paralympic champion simmonds. there is, like, literally no words to describe it. for me, this is my fourth paralympics, and i've never actually been to an opening ceremony. so to go to an opening ceremony, but also have that privilege of carrying the flag with john is just so exciting. privilege of carrying the flag with john isjust so exciting. and like penny said, i got called to have a meeting with her, and i thought it was just a meeting with her, and i thought it wasjust a general meeting with her, and i thought it was just a general meeting. meeting with her, and i thought it wasjust a general meeting. but meeting with her, and i thought it was just a general meeting. but when she announced that me and john were both like bears — i think we were both like bears — i think we were both in awe, like, we didn't know how to respond —— flag bearers. so were carrying the flags for the athletes, the support staff, the staff, people cheering us on from home and being there for us all the way. so this flag carrying in the
