hello. well, it was certainly a wash—out across parts of england today. we saw over a month's worth of rainfall in a few spots in east anglia in the last 12 hours. it's all courtesy of this area of low pressure which affected the majority of england through the day, slowly clearing out into the north sea, taking the heavy rain with it, a legacy ofjust a few showers and some cloud across eastern england. and there will be just one or two showers, i think, peppering northern and western parts of scotland, but elsewhere should be dry. but because of all the rain, certainly for england and wales, it's going to be quite muggy, misty and damp. further north, we'll see temperatures dropping to single figures under clear skies. otherwise quite mild in the south. now into wednesday, and indeed into thursday, this ridge of high pressure will build, and that'll settle things down quite nicely and we should see quite a bit of sunshine around. so the middle part of the week is actually looking like being the best part of the week with regards to dry and sunny weather around. now, it could start quite grey and murky for many
6:57 pm
areas for wednesday, one or two showers across the far east of england. could see the odd weather front there. maybe this weather front bringing some showers to northern and western scotland and into northern ireland, but elsewhere it will be dry with increasing amounts of sunshine into the afternoon. temperatures responding — 21, maybe 22 degrees. otherwise the high teens for most. thursday, ithink, looking like being the driest and sunniest day of the week for most of us. could start off with some mist and dense fog patches around, which tend to clear, allowing for some sunny spells to develop. bit of cloud into the afternoon. signs of it turning a bit breezier and cloudier across the far northwest ahead of this new weather front, but it could turn quite warm in the south and the east. we could see highs around 23 degrees. but then it's all change as we head on into friday. a new look weather system pushing in from the west will introduce stronger winds, cloud, outbreaks of rain, mainly to western areas. i think it's western scotland, northern ireland, into western england and wales which will see the rain. eastern parts of scotland, and certainly eastern england, will stay dry all day with some sunny spells, but it's going to be a blustery day for all, particularly in the northwest, as that weather front moves in.
6:58 pm
temperatures here, mid to high teens. again, with some sunshine in the southeast, we could see 20—22 celsius. bit of uncertainty with the details into the weekend, but it does look like lower pressure wants to be nearby, some weather fronts around too, so it's going to be quite a mixed picture, i think, both saturday and sunday — quite a bit of cloud around, bit of sunshine, too, but there will always be a threat of rain. stay tuned to the forecast.
