it's two wins out of two for wales' women, as they beat south africa 29—19 at cardiff arms park. last weekend, they saw off japan. wales were quick off the mark, with carys phillips bundled over the line, and at half—time they led 17—0. the tourists fought back in the second half, but phillips claimed a hat—trick with two more tries as wales completed a deserved victory. they face canada in their final autumn international. england lost today's test against world champions france in wheelchair rugby league. england initally took the lead afterjust two minutes with this try from captain tom halliwell, taking the posts with him as well. england were 15 points down at the break, but managed to bring it back to just a point between them with this penalty. these two sides should have been preparing for a world cup, delayed by a year because of the pandemic. these matches have filled the void.

france too strong in the end, winning 39—26. world champion lewis hamilton has been penalised for breaking f1 rules ahead of tonight's sprint race in sao paulo. it means he will start at the back of the grid and looks set to miss out on valuable points to title rival max verstappen. he's also been hit with a grid penalty in tomorrow's grand prix, in what could be the beginning of the end of his title defence with four races of the season remaining. nick parrott explains. just when lewis hamilton thought he was catching up with max verstappen, fate has sent him tumbling back down. going into this weekend, he knew he would start the grand prix no higher than sixth, because mercedes put a new engine in his car, triggering a five place penalty for the race on sunday. it was potentially a price worth paying, as in qualifying he was much quicker
