victories over new zealand in consecutive weeks... and today — england's women continued their winning run — with another destructive performance — this time against canada — and there was debut to remember. jess softley reports. for some time, england have been an unstoppable force in women's rugby. as the sport grows, so does their competition. an international debut is something special that heather cowell made sure it was one to remember. england ahead after four minutes. but that was short lived. canada came to show why they are third in the world. the roses were behind for the first time in the tournament. game on. england are rarely tested but this time they were made to work for it. they are here to play. cowell certainly did, delighting her home crowd once again before the half—time break. 20 points to 12. as a full professional outfit, england have strength in depth and quickly began to show it.
