hello and welcome to sportsday. yes, good evening, welcome along to the sportsday. let's start this friday with the one story that has dominated the headlines all week racism in cricket. today, the sport's top figures met at the 0val and apologised unreservedly, saying they were shocked, saddened and shamed by the testimony they heard from azeem rafiq. on tuesday, when rafiq spoke to a committee of mps, he described english cricket as institutionally racist. today, members of the england and wales cricket board were joined by representatives from all 18 first—class counties and the players' union, with the pressure on to come up with a plan of action, that goes far enough to tackle this issue. azeem rafiq has shined a light on

harrison said the action that was announced today or permitted today would not be the silver bullet and was very much a first step in addressing the problem and he said the proof will be in the delivery. well to another development today — as nottinghamshire cricket club have extended the scope of their investigation into the historic, conduct of alex hales, following the publication in a newspaper today of a photo, taken in 2009. the former england batsman has apologised after attending a new years eve party dressed in a racially offensive manner. tupacis tupac is and was and always will be my famous musician ? favourite musician and a wink as him. i realise this was incredibly disrespectful and i apologise for the offence that is has no doubt caused and it was reckless and foolish on my behalf so i want to apologise for that and apologise to the club for the embarrassment it

it has been a problem ? predominately cloudy day but some places have seen some pleasant sunshine. and again the eastern side of scotland towards aberdeen we have seen temperatures today up to 17 celsius. that mild air has been with us to end the working week but it's all about to change if you have not heard yet. temperatures will tumble down by the time you get to sunday and will keep the cold air throughout next week. now, that mild air*s been with us to end the working week, but it's all about to change, if you haven't heard yet. so, whilst we've been in this mild stream of atlantic south westerlies during the day today, it's behind this band of rain that will continue for the north and west of scotland across 0rkney, into the western isles this evening. behind that, the cold air is sitting. to the south of that, where we have got some breaks in the cloud, temperatures could overnight dip to six or seven degrees, but also, there's likely to be mist and low cloud, possibly even a bit of fog around. but certainly some fog around the coasts and over the hills and

so in the countryside, we'll certainly see a frost further south as well. into next week, it's potentially going to get colder still midweek on with a greater risk of some snow, so do stay tuned.
