the brexit, from the uk leaving the european union is it's free to pursue its own more robust foreign policy with regard to russia. they can actually do things that he couldn't put up while its foreign policy was in effect tied to brussel and by extension to berlin and budapest. we seen this in the uk sanctioning individuals that have eu citizenship. individuals who are among those russian oligarchs but who had acquired citizenship in finland in the 1990s. now, fenlon says that that is actually possible because the uk is now outside the eu. but overall, i think we need not be too optimistic about whether this really will be the wake—up call that europe needs. over the last few days in chatham house colleagues have been putting together lists of policy options, list of what we do now have a list of essential actions now have a list of essential actions now that russia has once again invaded one of its neighbors. but one of the most depressing thing about that exercise is we basically copied and pasted a law that we'd

a reference to the flag of ukraine. the daily telegraph says there are fears that president putin will unleash devastating modern rockets on ukraine within hours. especially worrying. russia is deploying and it's got units moving southwards from belarus towards kyiv with those weapons and think of them as... to give a flame—thrower and then multiply at 100 fold. it's a weapon that is capable of essentially two explosives, one explosive disperses a massive cloud of fuel and the second explosive ignites that fuel and it can... a whole office block could be inflamed and the blast met explosive can bring devastation to everybody in half a block. so if we have a situation which we may well see in the coming days where russian armour is trying to go down the roads in the capital, and it's being attacked by a sniper and people with anti—tank weapons and so one from
