, rylance. let's start with fantastic beasts. this is the third of what is supposed to be five in the series. the third, yes. i was a big fan of the first one, the second one let me down but this when i think it's an improvement. jude law plays professor dumbledore is falling out big style with this old friend gellert grindelwald played by mads mikkelsen, very well, i thought, and dumbledore assembles a team of musicians, wizards and a model to seek down gellert grindelwald and fix everything with many tricks and confusing plans. let's look at a clip of them on the train. right then... i imagine that you're all wondering why you find yourselves here. and, in anticipation of that, dumbledore asks that | convey a message. grindelwald has the ability to see

snatches of the future. so we have to assume that he would be able to anticipate what we do before we do it. so if we hope to defeat him, and to save our world, to save your world, jacob, then our best hope is to confuse him. er... excuse me. i'm sorry. how do you confuse a guy who can see the future? i counter—sight. exactly. the best plan being... or many overlapping plans. that's confusion. it's working on me right now. as you can see you've got some familiar characters, obviously eddie redmayne as newt scamander complete with creatures and you have got a plan of action and the action sort of moves to berlin via britain and then bhutan, so it's quite an action packed film. an adventure. the pace for me in this is a little bit too
5:47 pm
leisurely. i did enjoy it but i feel like almost every scene could be a few minutes shorter. that was a drawback for me. there one indiana jones sequence which doesn't really work, falls a bit flat, but some of the creatures are adorable. i would caution people taking young children to this because sometimes there is a bit of a bambi flavour, let say to the fate of these creatures, but by and large i think it's got a lot to offer and i enjoyed seeing it on the big screen. just offer and i en'oyed seeing it on the bi screen. , , , offer and i en'oyed seeing it on the big screen.— big screen. just briefly come if you haven't seen _ big screen. just briefly come if you haven't seen the _ big screen. just briefly come if you haven't seen the previous - big screen. just briefly come if you haven't seen the previous two, - big screen. just briefly come if you i haven't seen the previous two, would you understand what was going on? i think you could follow it because a basic story is good versus evil. there is a lot of easter eggs for fans of the series and it's probably better to have seen them but you can still appreciate it. the better to have seen them but you can still appreciate it.— still appreciate it. the next one is an independent _ still appreciate it. the next one is an independent film, _ still appreciate it. the next one is an independent film, a _ an independent film, a foreign—language film, and doesn't have the most prepossessing of titles, compartment no 6. it tells you where it is said, i suppose. it is set on a train primarily and stars seidi haarla, laura, young finnish woman, travelling through russia on a sleep and is forced to

share a cabin with a barely minor played by yuriy borisov com a fantastic actor, is it basically spit up with a girlfriend, she is not in the best place and then she has to say this cabin with someone who she would not choose to put it that way. and to me this has a bit of a lost in translation flavour in that two very different people are thrown together in a foreign country and kind of force to get along. it's not a romance. you don't really know where it's going to go but to me it's very, very engaging and quite darkly funny and very observational, story of this couple who just have to try to work things out over several days. it to try to work things out over several days.— to try to work things out over several da s. . ., . .., several days. it had great critical acclaim. several days. it had great critical acclaim- it _ several days. it had great critical acclaim. it won _ several days. it had great critical acclaim. it won the _ several days. it had great critical acclaim. it won the grand - several days. it had great critical acclaim. it won the grand prix i several days. it had great critical acclaim. it won the grand prix atj acclaim. it won the grand prix at calne getting — acclaim. it won the grand prix at calne getting great _ acclaim. it won the grand prix at calne getting great reviews. - acclaim. it won the grand prix at calne getting great reviews. for| acclaim. it won the grand prix at. calne getting great reviews. for me i thoroughly agree, it's something i recommend. i i thoroughly agree, it's something i recommend-— i thoroughly agree, it's something i recommend. , ., ., , recommend. i was very drawn to this idea because — recommend. i was very drawn to this idea because i _ recommend. i was very drawn to this idea because i do _ recommend. i was very drawn to this idea because i do quite _ recommend. i was very drawn to this idea because i do quite like - recommend. i was very drawn to this idea because i do quite like to - recommend. i was very drawn to this idea because i do quite like to have l idea because i do quite like to have to concentrate hard on a film when i go and watch it and to watch something that's rather different, but it almost feels like the fact

that your father is in danger. gentleman... i know your father, ma5ter ritchie. your father would want you both to take a deep breath. now, i'm glad you said that. my father... my father, francis. it's my father who is in danger, not yours. always brilliant, mark rylance but you mentioned theatrical earlier and actually i think that's the biggest drawback with this film, even though it's very well written, it's a single location and it feels like you're watching a play. it almost felt like i would have enjoyed it more if i'd seen it in the theatre. every time a new character bursts through the door you are expecting a round of applause from the audience. it feels a little bit mannered, but it feels a little bit mannered, but i think there is enough to enjoy in the plotting because there's a lot

of twi5t5 the plotting because there's a lot of twists and turns even if you see them coming you enjoy them. it’s them coming you en'oy them. it's difficult them coming you enjoy them. it's difficult with film because you do expect it to be movement, different scenes, almost like a wasted opportunity. ifelt like scenes, almost like a wasted opportunity. i felt like that about glengarry glen ross which was just in an office but i suppose it all comes down to the writing. and the performance. here we have got mark rylance playing an english taylor and he's up against those rough mob5ter5 from chicago. that and he's up against those rough mobsters from chicago. that contrast is nuite mobsters from chicago. that contrast is quite interesting, _ mobsters from chicago. that contrast is quite interesting, obviously - mobsters from chicago. that contrast is quite interesting, obviously that. is quite interesting, obviously that dynamic, a5 is quite interesting, obviously that dynamic, as you can see from that clip he is elder statesman and actually one up on them in terms of intelligence, so it's about kind of a battle of wit5 really even though he's displaced from his own community. he's displaced from his own community-— he's displaced from his own community. he's displaced from his own communi. ., ., he's displaced from his own communi . ., ., . , community. you have chosen as best out the novice. _ community. you have chosen as best out the novice. it's _ community. you have chosen as best out the novice. it's hard _ community. you have chosen as best out the novice. it's hard to _ community. you have chosen as best out the novice. it's hard to stop - out the novice. it's hard to stop into any particular genre. it out the novice. it's hard to stop into any particular genre.- into any particular genre. it is, i'm into any particular genre. it is, im calling _ into any particular genre. it is, im calling it — into any particular genre. it is, i'm calling it whiplash - into any particular genre. it is, i'm calling it whiplash with - into any particular genre. it 5. i'm calling it whiplash with female rower5 i'm calling it whiplash with female rowers because it's a story of ob5e55ion. it's from writer—director lauren hadaway, a collegiate row in the usa so knows what it's like to do that. it stars isabelle fuhrman

showers and next week it will feel warm where we get some sunshine but it won't be sunny all the time. there will also be some outbreaks of rain. talking of rain, we saw some heavy downpours across southern england, and the channel islands during this morning. that's clearing away and then some sunny spells but also as you can see from the radar picture, lots of showers, thunderstorms, wintry showers especially across northern areas and most of those showers will slowly fade as we head through the night, clear skies overhead and that will allow for quite a widespread frost temperatures in the towns and cities below freezing and we can see lows of “4 out in the countryside and parts of northern england. into tomorrow, a cold frosty but bright and sunny start. through the day we will see some showers once again but most plentiful towards the north and east where it will stay breezy. further south and west, lighter winds, not as many showers, more dry weather and plenty of sunshine. temperatures attached below the average for this point in april,

7-12. as average for this point in april, 7—12. as we move through saturday night, this ridge of high pressure topples its way eastwards and again it allows us to get cold and frosty but this frontal system pushing in from the west will start to introduce a little more cloud, so temperatures out west in belfast and plymouth for example may stay above freezing, most places again having a cold start to sunday morning, but a bright start with plenty of sunshine. through the day as that weather system approaches, we will see more cloud building in from the west for the majority will stay dry, rain splashing into parts of northern ireland later on. the wind starting to come up from the south so temperatures will climb just a little. a trend that will continue into next week. if we do get some sunshine, we could see 18—19, maybe 20. there will also be some rain at times especially in the north and west.
