also look weekend for that we will also look ahead to the women's rugby union cup which starts in new zealand injust a few hours* time. that*s all out on sports day at 630. now on abc it*s time for the film review. i*m jane hill. and taking us through this weeks releases, as ever is mark kermode. hi, mark. hi. so we have three very different movies, the lost king, the true story of sir richard iii. we have vengeance, the story of life, the universe and podcasts. and amsterdam, a star—studded new movie directed by david 0 russell. 50, lost king. the lost king. sally hawkins stars and, honestly, a stranger than fiction tale of finn langley his quest to find

and retrieve the remains of king richard iii, famously maligned by history and playwrights like shakespeare, who she comes to believe the bones are under a car park in leicester. so the film reunites the team behind philomena. so the director and writers and costars steve cooper, who plays philip is x. who plays philip is ex, john. in real life philippa langley felt she was guided to the burial spot and got goose bumps while standing on it by something not quite normal, i suppose. take a look.

for her great discovery. the film i think does portray them in a pretty harsh life of philip lightly said she did feel sidelines and marginalised with up they said it*s an unfair portrait. the thing you have to do is look at it as a dramatic construction. in the drama out this is a story about somebody who isn*t taken seriously, fighting to be taken seriously, fighting to find their place. and that feeling that she is being guided is dramatised by visions of theatrical version of richard, who she sees leading her around the world and around less and indeed around the locations. i think the stuff that works is, i like sally hawkins, i think she*s got a very good way of doing that for that tremulous on the bonham but steely resolve underneath. i think as the story of a characterfinding her voice it works well. unless convinced that it works well. unless convinced that it works as a piece of modern history

all talking about vengeance and conspiracy and this is a podcast. the stuff i liked about this is, the satire about everybody thinking they*ve got a great podcast, which i think it is topical. this is a podcast. the stuff that works less well for me is i think it finds it less hard to get the balance between the comedic elements, it is comedy. the underlying story that he is going to the funeral of the daughter of a family who are grieving one minute in the next minute appear not to be in grief at all but sort of being quirky and a bit strange. because of that you never take any of it very seriously. and since you don*t take any of it seriously it fails to engage in the wager. interesting as this sort of voice of the voice of the piece, running these recording studios and everything is about recording for them and there are so many voices and was only voices how can... ? that*s an interesting message. it kind of gets lost in this thing that

and the other art and satirical. there is also a covert report of businessmen who are trying to get robert de niro his character to front their endeavours, which are very sinister. casting includes ronnie malik, chris rock, michael shannon and mike myers. everyone is in it. there are enough people in this film to start at five different movies, which is good because it feels like five different movies happening at the same time. there is at the centre of it a really interesting story inspired by real life which i knew nothing about. kind of emerges about two thirds of the way of the film but amidst all the way of the film but amidst all the zany tapering and the wide angles and the close—ups in the buckeye performances and everything being slightly mallet. a lot gets lost with him interesting that christian bale said in an interview that david or russell at about 12 versions of the script at one point put up and you go yeah, he had about 12 versions of the script when it got finished with him it would be impossible to watch this and not find stuff in it to be impressed
