how will the buffalo bills — how will any nfl player, for that matter — prepare to take to the field on sunday after damar hamlin*s cardiac arrest? hello again. in recent years, both chelsea and manchester city have been a little more used to surveying the chasing pack than being part of it. but they meet at stamford bridge tonight in a match that brings the premier league's festive programme to an end, with points to make up on those above them. chelsea are languishing in mid—table, while the champions haven't been able to keep up with arsenal. 0ur football correspondent john murray is there. it's an interesting one for the first match of 2023 at stamford bridge, because both chelsea and manchester city are nowhere where

6:36 pm
what did you think? he was initially quite relaxed today, but don't forgive that for someone who's given up or thrown in the towel, quite opposite in fact. he's determined to try and turn this retro form they've had, they've only won once in their last ten premier league games, and slip into the bottom three after results on wednesday following that defeat by brighton on tuesday night, as well. so there's been talks between lampard following that result, but the sense i get is they want to give him as much time as they can because they appointed him when they decided to go on a more collegiate lead approach to his appointment, and they want to give them that time so he can rest his side and form. i suppose results will always dictate and they've got another massive game against manchester, but frank frank lampard will be looking for a reaction. he was at pains to point

everton fans here, a lot of financial mismanagement for the club, they've posted record losses, a huge turnover of managers, something like 18 and seven years. so there's a lot of problems there and one of the other issues they've got is that next year, they are do to move into a new stadium. so getting relegated from the premier league this season would be an absolute financial disaster for them. another problem they've got is because of financial fair play in their losses, they can't spend a lot in this january transfer window. having lost richarlison at the end of last season, they've struggled to score goals, and that's their main issue. the question now is that whether the board think lampard is the best person to get the best out of the current squad, or if someone can come along get a betterjob done, maybe the likes of wayne rooney. but they face a crucial moment now, after 0ld rooney. but they face a crucial moment now, after old trafford, they go on to defeat southampton, the

next to the story of the coach, his wife, a former team—mate, their wife, and son, who plays for the coach. a tangled web involving men's national team boss greg berhalter has engulfed us soccer — and it might cost him hisjob. it started after the world cup, when berhalter said a player didn't meet expectations. borussia dortmund's gio reyna confirmed it was him. then an incident from 1991 came to light — berhalter was alleged to have kicked his girlfriend, now wife, and his bosses had been made aware in a way that the coach admitted was "shameful", but nevertheless an effort to "take him down". those two things apeared to be unconnected until danielle reyna, mother of gio, husband of berhalter*s former team—mate claudio, was reported to be the person who notified us soccer about what happened 31 years ago in response to the coach's comments about her son. the couples have known each other for years. former international heather 0'reilly is also friends with all four, and says it's a really sad and pathetic day for us soccer.

and the affair may well lead to berhalter*s contract not being renewed after an investigation was launched into the 1991 incident. they had asked him to stay on for at least this month, they've got a training camp coming up which he will no longer be a part of pending this investigation. then after that, it was a case of, "let's see," the us are hosting the world cup in four years' time, there's a lot of pressure on whoever is in charge to get that right in the world cup and show the world how good this young us team are. i'm sure it greg berhalter, after his record in the world cup getting through a top stage and getting through to the knockout stage, would've fancied his chances of being in charge, but obviously at the moment they are probably 50—50 on whether he'll actually stay on. you probably 50-50 on whether he'll actually stay on.— probably 50-50 on whether he'll actually stay on. you get the sense that the motivation _ actually stay on. you get the sense that the motivation for _ actually stay on. you get the sense that the motivation for danielle - that the motivation for danielle reyna coming out with this is because of what greg berhalter said after the world cup. what was his
