showers beautiful sunset. some showers running down along the east of scotland and eastern england, some drifting further south through the midlands to wales and the western country. some showers continuing overnight, large areas of cloud across england and wales and northern ireland and scotland seeing more in the way of clear skies, allowing temperatures to glasgow. where we have this clear slice they could be some fog patches to start tomorrow morning. tomorrow across england and wales one or two early showers if you look closely at the map. most of those will fade and it will be much drier by the afternoon with a mix of sunny spells and patchy cloud. sunny spells too for northern ireland and scotland but with the stripe of scotland working into the far north—west later in the day. 9 degrees for stornoway and elsewhere between five and eight. this stripe of cloud is the first sign of a weather front that will push south tomorrow night. the rain tending to weaken as it goes so by saturday there is not much rain left at all, just this

major role in your thought process going into the world cup and if so, why? i was worried after that game that the team would be affected by the narrative being constantly about should the manager stay or go and i felt that we went to the games in september, we were a little bit anxious and thought, at wembley, germany, the crowd were not against the team we're waiting to see what happened and i've been around teams where they can inhibit performance and the lesson you want as a manager is that your presence is divisive and annoyed support of the players and annoyed support of the players and how they were responding to things and support of the organisations and so, those things are nice but there are bigger things thanjust having the are nice but there are bigger things than just having the support of those people at certain times. before the world cup, would you say

10:44 pm
yeah, i've been in the game long enough and how fans will react at certain times and i'm comfortable with that from a personal perspective in my thinking is always around how does this affect the team it is to give the give the team the best chance going into the world cup for example, do we need to free that narrative up so that the support is behind the team and notjust debating whether the managers should be there or not? but i think, we came to that period and started to score goals again and remind yourselves what we could be at her best and i was very much the mindset that we went into at the tournament. and was there an instance of unfinished business, that would be painful to see somebody else come and take over the role and perhaps benefit from all the hard work you been putting into for some time?
10:45 pm
again, i don't have a problem with whatever the succession might be and if they're doing well once i've gone because no managers going to be around forever. it is a privilege to do the role that few of the team missed on the process of improving and they have exciting players were getting better with being able to play closer to her best level of these knockout games now and we are playing with a lot more freedom in those moments and that is a good thing. or getting more experience of the latter stages of the tournament for the next generation is going to be important. expectations are higher that is a good thing. i never worried about if somebody else takes over and benefiting and that so it should work it's about the future for england and the next few months, the next turn meant but also beyond

10:55 pm
pulled out of it. it's just more a band of cloud, a bit of damp weather heading into northern england by the end of the night. ahead of it, this is where we're going to have the coldest weather, more towards south—eastern areas, so a change from friday night. we'll have some sunshine following to scotland and northern ireland after that a band of cloud moves southwards, again bringing a little bit of drizzle. southern parts of england could stay dry with some sunshine until late on in the afternoon. and these are the temperatures so, again, we're looking at around 7 or 8 degrees, which is near average for this time of year. the second half of the weekend, things may start to change. we've still got the high pressure here, we've got some atlantic winds coming in around the top of it, strengthening winds as well, and some rain but bringing some milder air. ahead of that, for england and wales, some sunshine at times. it'll turn more cloudy from the north. we'll see this band of rain coming into scotland and northern ireland, followed by some blustery showers. the winds really strengthening through the day, bringing in milderair. temperatures double figures in scotland and northern ireland, but very windy here into the afternoon, into the evening,
10:56 pm
the first part of the night. the winds in northern scotland could actually be gusting 60mph or more. that area of low pressure bringing that windy weather then sweeps away, that weather front not really bringing any rain. it moves down across the country. we're left with a north—westerly wind, still quite brisk, particularly, again, in scotland on monday. but we'll see the showers dying away, we'll see a bit more sunshine ahead of the cloud increasing in northern ireland and western parts of scotland. temperatures here 9 degrees. it could make double figures across southern parts of england and wales, not a bad start to the new week. that north—westerly wind around that area of high pressure will start to change back to a westerly wind as this weather front moves down from the north—west. that's going to bring with it this band of rain here but, again, as you can see, it moves down across the uk, the rain peters out,
10:57 pm
it's more a band of cloud, will be followed by some sunshine and some showers, just cold enough for a bit of wintriness over higher parts western scotland, and temperatures again 7—10 degrees. this is where the jet stream is positioned and we're going to see this pattern continuing for a little while longer, sitting right over the uk, the really coldest air is to the north—east of us. and we've got that area of high pressure — i told you this was crucial — you can see how the position of the high changes, starts to change the wind direction once again, pushing in the winds more from the south—west by the end of next week and that's going to bring with it some milder air, so temperatures are going to be rising. that high pressure will keep a lot of the wet weather away, however, across more northern parts of the uk, this is where we're going to find some rain followed by some showers, and temperatures will be a little bit more up and down. for southern parts of the uk, closer to the high pressure, the winds will be lighter here and for the most part, it will be dry, a little bit of sunshine at times.
