hello. we've seen a lot of clouds across many parts of the uk today. sunshine in short supply, but it has been really mild and increasingly windy. those strong winds peaking this evening across parts of northern scotland, gusts of 50 to maybe 60 miles per hour. those winds then ease a little overnight, as this band of cloud and very patchy rain sinks a little further southwards into northern ireland and northern england. a really mild night, though, temperatures between 5 and 10 degrees as we start friday morning. and we will have this band of cloud and very patchy rain that will then be drifting back northeastwards across parts of northern england and up across scotland as the day wears on. northern ireland should brighten up quite nicely with some sunny spells. patchy cloud and sunny spells for wales, the midlands, down towards the south of england. temperatures peaking at 14 degrees, a mild day forjust about all of us. now into saturday, that mild theme continues. but there'll be some rain into northern ireland and scotland. and as that pushes south eastwards overnight on saturday, it'll leave brighter but colder weather for sunday.
