patrick, we'll get to the race in a moment, those fears for the police and racecourse security were realised. yes, there has been a heavy police presence here at aintree all day really and that is because of the threat by the animal activist group animal categorising to disrupt the national, they said they wanted to stop the race to protect the horses. a handful of arrests were made, but 15 minutes before the schedule is started, we saw activists trying to get onto the course. police were on the scene quickly, but some protesters did get on the track and attempted to attach themselves to fences. that meant the start of the race had to be delayed and it was quite a sum —— warm and sunny day so the horses had to go back to the pre—paddock while the course was cleared. eventually, protesters were
